Would appreciate if it was an Indian Sweet as per description, got given a vanilla ice cream for dessert and much better if it was an Indian Sweet like Gulab Jamun. Chana Masala needs more working”

“Had dinner at Portofino Takapuna, an authentic Italian restaurant by the beach. I ordered the Prosciutto Pizza and Seafood Risotto—both were absolutely amazing. The pizza was perfectly baked with a thin, crispy base and generous toppings, while the risotto was rich, creamy, and full of fresh seafood flavours. A truly delightful dining experience that captures the taste of Italy right here in Takapuna. Highly recommended!”

“We had a wonderful meal there last night. The views were fantastic, all the wait staff and the hostess were lovely and very helpful. We had someone who was GF and she was well looked after. Everything was made fresh and we couldn’t fault it. The massaman lamb was delicious and the money bags were the best we have eaten. The prices were reasonable too. Will definitely be back!! “*Updated 26/10/25: Food quality has improved, but not the prices. $5.80 for a long black is getting a bit cheeky. *Updated 2/11/23: Pretty good. *Updated 17/4/22: Food and coffee are still awesome, however becoming expensive for what you get in comparison to other cafés. The menu can be misleading and didn't have prices for eggs on toast etc. (Photo provided). Great little cafe, music good, staff friendly and efficient. Coffee was very good and cosy atmosphere. Only complaint is the rickety seating and tables.”

The interior fit out was modern and yet very calming and serene for a late-night dinner. Customer service process was efficient and tables and seating were very clean. Parking was easy to find. The restaurant combines delicious food, affordability, quick service, generous portions, and cleanliness — a true hidden gem in Auckland. That’s why I want to recommend it! Also, whenever I see negative reviews about Eden, I feel puzzled, because my dine-in experiences have always been met with efficient and professional front-of-house service. I’ve even witnessed staff making fresh dumplings by hand, as well as the busy kitchen in action. Despite the rush of many customers, I still receive greetings, attention, smiles, and, of course, amazing food. I’m grateful to Eden for giving me such a wonderful experience, and I truly hope people can show more understanding and be less critical. Here’s to another day of recommending Eden!”

“Pita House is the OG Kebab joint nestled amongst Onehunga's commercial district. The family owned and operated business is authentic to the word, not only will they serve you the best kebab you've ever eaten, you can also stock up on all you middle eastern groceries and their inhouse Pita breads which are often still warm in the bag from coming off the conveyor belt. I Love this place, love the people & will always travel near or far if the temples screaming for a delicious meal.”

“I've been there a few times a couple years ago until The Light Horse closed down. This used to be The Light Horse. Good location from my place. Food is still good. But How sad it is that they don't open on weekend. I hope they open on weekend. Will be back with friends.”

“This is a fantastic spot! I love the decor and the food. I ordered the rump steak, which was delicious. My partner enjoyed the vegetarian pasta, and my dad and mum both loved their dishes: the eye fillet melted in his mouth, and the crumbed chicken was delicious too. Service was excellent also.
