*Updated 26/10/25: Food quality has improved, but not the prices. $5.80 for a long black is getting a bit cheeky. *Updated 2/11/23: Pretty good. *Updated 17/4/22: Food and coffee are still awesome, however becoming expensive for what you get in comparison to other cafés. The menu can be misleading and didn't have prices for eggs on toast etc. (Photo provided). Great little cafe, music good, staff friendly and efficient. Coffee was very good and cosy atmosphere. Only complaint is the rickety seating and tables.

Massive regret paying $16 for this pie (even when I know Ponsonby Central is supposed to be expensive). It was in their pantry window which had no prices for their pantry foods. It was a beef & mushroom pie. Beef was extremely dry. Sauce too salty with some kind of curry (?) rather than gravy flavour. I also had difficulty understanding what the male waitor behind the counter was saying, which I think is unusual for a hospo customer-facing role. He was nice, but it made the whole experience a bit weird.

A cozy nice place to go for a coffee and yum donuts. I had a cappuccino and a pastry from the shelf which looked good, they added coconut cream on to it, it was good, the donut was very good with filling which you can pick from or even give you the toll to add it yourself. It's a nice place to enjoy a coffee and a good pastry. We went there on a Sunday morning and it was full of customers, but found a sit quickly. Not much to worry.

We were wandering around the Ponsonby Centre looking at the options, and were attracted by the size of the pies. The price was increased to match of course, but they were delicious. I almost got a pastry to go with it, but on hindsight, may not have finished it. The service was friendly and cheerful and the place was very busy, which is always my benchmark.

We were visiting from Nelson and googled breakfast in Ponsonby and this cafe came up. So glad we popped in. Outstanding service, the food was delicious and we had a really good time during our visit - they even popped Dolly Parton on for us. Highly recommend a visit here. It will not disappoint. The coffee was great too.

Terrible service. We ordered food and drinks at the same time. Coffee and hot chocolate arrived quickly and were both great. Waited patiently for our food for over 40 minutes, but it never came. When we queried it, they said we'd never placed an order. So how did we get our drinks??? Totally dropped the ball and then tried to blame us.

I had the lamb Moroccan meat pie it was fabulous. All the plates were smaller but very tasty. The coffee was average.

There was a huge selection of baked goods including a few gluten free options, a nice brunch menu, lots of drinks to pick from (including milkshakes!). Coffee was delicious ! Small sitting area so it may be hard to get a spot

Well here is another breakfast review or brunch if you fancy it. We were lost in the city (near Ponsonby) looking for a spot to eat before heading home and we were fortunate enough to stumble upon Foxtrot Parlour. Oh you never heard of it? Neither did we but so glad we did. I mean if you need to feed several picky eaters this could work. From breakfast burritos to pancakes to muesli. There something for everyone, even the kids. All types of baked goods, they had cinnamon rolls on our day (delicious) and coffee. Yes I know what place doesn't have coffee, but it's good coffee! Get there early if you want a seat though they got fairly busy on our day. They also have both indoor and outdoor seating, to keep in mind if you fancy sitting in the sun. The staff was pleasant and quick with our food and even got my takeaway coffee ready in a jiff as we were leaving. (Did I mention the great coffee). So to recap: Lost (check); Hungry (check); Want some great food with great atmosphere (check, check and check). Find your way here, you will not be disappointed!!
