Pet friendly hotel in Auckland

“I had a great experience here. The walk from the Intercity Bus stop to the hotel was quick and easy. I noticed upon arrival that there wasn't a ramp to get up, but during my stay upon leaving my room for the night I did notice a ramp. The service was amazing, the vibe of the hotel was really cozy, I ate at the Vie restaurant on the night I arrived, I had a delicious three cheese pizza and a tequila sunrise. I also added the buffet breakfast to my stay, it was very nice, they had a decent array of breakfast foods. The Chia pudding could of used more flavour, as I only got flavour from the fruit. The mushrooms as well could of used a bit more flavour, but other than that every thing else was yummy as!. My room was good, although it had a view of an apartment complex, but that's what you get when you're staying in the middle of the city. The amenities were great, having a coffee bar was good as I always need a coffee. Especially when I come back from a day of walking around the CBD, I can chill and have a coffee. The only confusing thing about the room, is that with the lights, you need to put your hotel keycard in the little slot next to the door, it was confusing for me for about a minute until I figured it out. Another downside I would say is the payment options when you book, so for me I like to pay in advance, they did give that option but you just had to pay the booking fee, and then you pay the rest upon your arrival. I had to email them about this, as when I checked my bank only $100 got taken out, so make sure you have money saved up upon your arrival. “We were slightly disappointed that some things weren't what were advertised but we were assured by staff that those issues would be amended in any advertising in the future. Other than that very nice place to stay... Would stay there again. Oh and the views from the rooms with balcony's are absolutely amazing.”

“A wonderful hotel, friendly and with very efficient staff. Well appointed and a great selection of rooms, and it is so so quiet at night.... And a bonus is the cafe, bar, restaurant off the lobby and too the gym. And a further bonus is its location across a small reserve to the Spark Arena, and a short stroll to Queen Street. And it comes with a carpark for guests downstairs!! AWESOME!!”

“Hotel receptionist Smitri was exceptionally helpful and accommodating. Although we booked through a third-party service and didn’t reserve a parking space, she went out of her way to find one for us. She was polite and empathetic, especially considering our situation traveling with a toddler. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool, and the room was clean and well-maintained, the kitchenette is a bunos! Kudos to the housekeeping team as well, the room was still serviced even after 5 PM, which we really appreciated. Would love to book again in the future!”

“Really happy with our two night stay at the Surrey. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and fresh. Pool kept the kids happy. Food at the pub was delicious! We had a breakfast and a dinner meal, both times with 10 people and the food was hot fresh and delicious. It’s not a super fancy hotel but it was everything we needed for our little Auckland vacation - proximity to the zoo was super helpful too!”

“We liked being in the CBD. Walking distance to many attractions, the marinas, and of course restaurants. Spacious, and clean room. Something was up with the air con, but at this time of year really didn’t need it, but we reported the issue we observed as we were checking out.”

“Such a sweet spot! Warm welcome, friendly helpful staff! Rooms, are nicely done - spacious, modern and comfortable - really enjoyed the Spa bath in the room I had & the shower was massive! Has a spa, a gym, a pool for the warmer months and is only a 5 min walk to the beautiful beach and lots of cafes & restaurants near by - highly recommend!”

“Our room was amazing, it had a best view and very clean. Everything is in there, you can find kitchenette there too. The bed is clean and very comfortable. And there’s an air condition as well. Our stay for one night was awesome. We got there late as and the receptionist was really awesome, she greeted us with a smile and welcome us. Overall everything was amazing. If you’re looking for a hotel to stay while up here in Auckland for work or leisure just try them. You won’t be disappointed. And it’s affordable too.”

“We have used Mt Richmond hotel multiple times over the years. Never had any issues or anything that can't be fixed. Staff always are friendly and willing to help. Food at the restaurant is constantly good and tastes yummy. The chiefs always pop out to check how the meals going. Would recommend to anyone. Bonus there's a pool and hot tub.”

For only around $100 a night, you get a clean, comfortable room with plenty of space, a good bed, and everything you need for a relaxing stay. “Allenby motel is in the ideal spot in terms to two great shopping malls. Hunters Plaza shopping mall is 10 minutes walk. In the other direction is Manukau shopping mall is 20 minutes walk. There is a bus stop right outside the motel. There is a great skate park inside the park.”
