“On Oct 1st 2025; Phallyn served us... She has such a warming and hospitable service... She greeted and welcome us as we came in, explained the menu quite well and had a lovely chat while waiting for our order. It looked like she was working alone that day handling the customer service, the cooking, clearing tables and phone... Good management and prioritising skills...She's a good representation of your company. I hope she gets a well deserved reward and recognition...She works soo hard!!!!”

“Does anyone remember Eagle Boys or Pizza Haven? From the 90s? This place reminds me of that style pizza. Pan base with crispy crust. I see some 1 stars. However, I didn't have that experience. The touch screen was easy to use, and I had a 10-15 min wait. It was a busy Wednesday night. - Meat lovers 8.8/10 $21.99 Large Crust had great crisp, under the topping was a thin layer of bbq sauce, which I like as opposed to a pizza that's doused in sauce. Meatball pieces are the best topping. I wish more of it was on the pizza. Blame price - Cheese pizza 7.5/10 $9.99 Small Same base as the meat lovers, nice cheese used, and nice grill bubbles on cheese.”

“It was my first time trying the Pepperoni and Manhattan pizzas at Sal's Pizza Takapuna, and I was impressed! The base was thin and crispy—just the way I like it—and the flavors were amazing. Their potatoe chips were delicious too! The staff were super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend Sal's Pizza Takapuna! You made my movie night super easy and completely fuss-free. “This is one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to in the North Shore and probably Auckland. The foods flavour was really good. My friends got a variety of dishes; and all tasted perfect. The meals were very reasonable priced, the portion sizes were large. During the meal, the kind lady (owner I’m guessing) asked us multiple times if we needed more rice or extras. There was a few other people coming in and out, as they were picking up their takeaway meals, which proves it’s popular with the locals. I have seen some of the other reviews and this place is deserving of them all. I definitely would eat here again!”

“A Hidden Gem on Dominion Road We’ve passed by Spicy House countless times and finally decided to step in – and what a delightful decision it was! This small restaurant has its unique charm: it’s compact, bustling, yet incredibly well-organized. Despite the busy atmosphere, the efficiency and attentiveness of the staff stood out. There were five staff members at the front counter, ensuring every request was promptly addressed and tables were swiftly cleaned and turned over for the next guests. One of the most striking aspects of Spicy House is its diverse clientele. It’s arguably the only Chinese restaurant in Auckland where you’ll find more non-Chinese customers than Chinese, which speaks volumes about its broad appeal and the quality of its food. Speaking of the food, it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich and authentic, and the beef was particularly noteworthy – tender and perfectly cooked. Each dish we tried was a testament to the culinary skills of the kitchen staff. The prices are reasonable, offering great value for the quality and portion sizes. Overall, our experience at Spicy House was fantastic. The combination of excellent service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a standout on Dominion Road. “This restaurant serves tasty food that both my husband and I enjoyed. Hunan food is very spicy but they happily toned it back for my husband, who can't handle too much chilli. The menu is very porky but I don't like pork so we tried various other options instead. The smelly tofu entree was suitably pungent and came topped with hot chilli. It was too hot for my husband but just right for me so I hoovered it all up. We also had hot and sour pickled radish, dong 'an chicken and stir fried chicken. All were lovely. The owner was friendly and interested to know what we thought of the food given we were the only non Asian patrons. The only negative - and it's not a big deal - is that the owner was busy in the kitchen when we arrived and it took quite a while before she noticed us standing at the counter. But we didn't mind too much and would happily eat there again.”

“Came here for a quick breakfast before browsing the mall. Ordered a french toast and a mocha which both didn't disappoint. The french toast tasted very fresh, flavourful and delicious while the mocha was great. The atmosphere was very welcoming as the worker at the front provided amazing customer service.”

“Amazing food! Loved the starters, pizza, pasta, and dessert. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. The other staff were also very nice and efficient. They definitely deserve all the prizes they’ve won for their pizza! I’m more of a pasta gal, but my husband was on pizza induced cloud nine. Probably the most authentic Italian food we’ve had since moving to New Zealand!”

The secret is not just that this legendary long standing Indian restaurant does a $30 buffet on Saturday night, the secret is not that staff are super friendly and its a gorgeous environment the real secret is that they change the items in the buffet regularly! Yes no same old thing each time you can go every week and enjoy your tasty favorites plus try something new. Its fresh and delicious. Hubby highly recommends chicken pakora and the dahl. I know my steak man going for vegetarian option that is how good it is. I recommend the chicken malai. Its only Saturday night from 5:30pm, pay when you go in and make sure you book as its popular for a reason! And sshhh - its a secret remember......”

“If you’re after great, authentic and flavourful Indian food, then this is the place. While the ambience and service are nothing to rave about, the food beats it all! Absolutely loved the fish Amritsari, which interestingly and sadly is a rare find in Auckland. The lamb seekh kebab and biryani are fab too. Sure will be back”
