“I have now visited this restaurant twice with my husband and both times, food and service has been excellent. The Platter dishes are extremely tasty. Don't rely on google maps to locate Spice Village - for some reason it directs you behind the restaurant. The restaurant is on High Street. Great restaurant and highly recommend”

“This cafe is absolutely gorgeous! The outdoor seating area is such a treat – you even get a free concert from the local birds! “Twice we came and twice it was amazing! Serving halal asian food. We ate the tom yum noodles, mee goreng with chicken and sticky rice with fried chicken for lunch and dinner. Definitely recommend the Thai milk tea though, it's really special. Boss lady was so sweet, she gave out brownies to all the diners for free since it was Mother's day. Amazing service and food, definitely worth the stop in Christchurch.”

“Oh my, Lazeez is incredible! The two guys that work at the Marshlands store are so lovely and put so much effort and love into the food they make. The hot salads are dangerously good and the meat on chips are always so crispy. The best part is the flavour of the meats, keeps me coming back at least once a week. “We had a lovely lunch at Winnie Bagoes with my work crew yesterday. It was a beautiful day, so we sat outside ... perfect spot to enjoy the sun and people watch. Service was excellent from the moment we arrived. Our server quickly put the umbrella up, took our drink orders, and was back in no time with them. He handled all our pizza questions like a pro — friendly, clear, and efficient. The pizzas were delicious (as always), and everything came out promptly. A relaxed, sunny lunch with great service and great food. Would definitely recommend for a casual group lunch in town.”

“Sal's is our absolute favourite pizza place, we go every week for date night. Recently moved over this side of town and absolutely thrilled that the local Sal's is just as good as the one in town. We've been to almost every store in Christchurch now and always have the same great experience. Nothing compares to Sal's. The Papanui staff were friendly and provided excellent customer service. Pizza was hot, fresh and delicious. Highly recommend the buffalo chicken pizza and pepperoni wheel.”

“An unreserved 5 out of 5 when taking into account quality and value. Naan breads are huge, Tandoor Chicken was fantastic, and the several curries I've tried were delicious. Underrated hidden gem. 2023 edit: still fantastic even though prices marginally up. Can’t go past the ‘Old Fashioned Lamb Curry’….seriously, it’s really good; even if the vege constituents vary and the name doesn’t tally with swanky fare. The naan’s are still the biggest and most legit you’ll find from any Indian takeaway. Would love to see what tandoor they’re rocking back there! Do yourself a favour and visit these guys. 2024 edit: yup, still the best. Little more spensey, but that reflects the general situation everywhere. Two old fashioneds with rice, some bhajis, a tandoor chicken, a couple of naans……you’ll eat like a maharaja for going on four days or more. Best naans ever. 2025 edit: Absolutely hands down the best. The old-fashioned lamb curry cannot be beat, and must be the signature dish in my opinion. Roiling away for days on end, random bits and pieces added as some sort of eternal curry; vegetable components changing but flavour evolving. Naans giant. Tandoor chicken epic. Eat for days. Ignore the 1-star review casuals.”

“Came into dinner for our mums 60th, and the food was immaculate. Fresh, hot, big plates, very flavoursome, good amount of veggies, well presented. Service was great and people in the kitchen are very nice. Support local guys, you won’t be disappointed!!”
