“Reminiscent of an old farm house back in the US, it is a very nice, homey place. A tad bit too old for my tastes with the occasional insect. The hosts, Geoff and Faye, were incredibly pleasant, wonderful, and helpful with recommending points of interest. The cooked breakfast and overall hospitality was second to none!”

“What a beautiful hotel! The rooms were cozy, clean and well-appointed. From the grand staircase to the jacuzzi and amenities in the bathroom, this hotel exceeded all my expectations. There's even a fireplace in our room. It's set in a very quiet spot with gorgeous courtyards in the front and the back of the estate. There is a salon with a fireplace where you can enjoy pre-dinner drinks and cocktails. I had my wedding here and the staff were unbelievably helpful and supportive. It was such a memorable experience and I will definitely be staying here again.”

“We stayed at Fernhill Cottages for a month while in between houses. Cosy and comfortable and we were able to keep our furbabies with us which was such a relief. We'll equipped cottage with plenty of place to park and it even had a desk to be able to work as well. Thank you for having us Kirsty and Collin!”

“Petparks looked after my dog, who passed away earlier this year, on numerous occasions. Although he could be quite challenging behaviorally, Petparks understood him and managed him really well and he was always happy and relaxed about going there. Jennifer and Louise were always accommodating and gracious about booking changes, and drop off and pick up times. I never felt hurried when updating them about anything new each time I checked him in for a stay - I felt that they were genuinely interested in his welfare, and fond of him. I was able to enjoy complete peace of mind about him whenever I was away, and I recommend this place unreservedly. Plus Jennifer does the most fabulous grooming!”

“Our company sends people to Wellington most months. We find Terrace Villas the most practical place to stay. The apartments are spacious and comfortable. We are easily able to conduct our business from the apartments and the management is ready to help with anything we need - we often hold meetings with our clients and they find the surroundings pleasant and relaxed. “I was really nervous to send my doggie back to daycare after some bad experiences at other places that have had lasting (probably lifetime) consequences. My pup has some anxieties, fears and isn’t always confident in life which sometimes translates to misunderstood reactivity. Paw Palace took extra time and effort to understand my worries, walk me through their days and process. They also never once had any judgement about his past or his breed. They have clearly given him so much love and support because he absolutely loves it there, always rushes in without hesitation and is never too exhausted when he gets home. I’ve only had reports of him being a good boy, that he’s really come out of his shell and with no behavioural issues! I’ve noticed a huge improvement in his socialising, he is reading other dogs much more appropriately and is super responsive with his recall! We’ve even been able to go back to off-lead areas again and he’s warming up to strangers more quickly too. Thank you again for all your hard work, I’m really proud of how far he has come and the dog he’s grown up to be :)”

The staff share photos on their Facebook page during the stay, and provide a detailed run down on how they went when you pick them up. Very dog-focused, which we really valued. “This place is amazing. Best accommodation we've stayed so far. View is perfect, the house itself is flawless, and they provide everything that you could think of. Never get to use a proper espresso machine during our trip anywhere before. Capsule was usually the closest to it ever. Gas bbq is also very good and clean. We had an amazing time. Appreciate it, will definitely recommend it to others, and ourselves will go back if we have the chance to”

“Cannot say enough about this wonderful condo. Very clean, comfortable & well appointed. Spectacular view of the harbor. Perfect location, close to everything you want to enjoy in Auckland. Great restaurants close by. Right next to the cruise ship pier & the ferries to the outer islands. One small issue was addressed immediately. Highest recommendation.”

“By far one of the best places I have stayed in years. travelling for work a lot, I get to stay at a lot of places and never really feel the need to leave a review one way or the other, but this place is worth a mention. From the first encounter with staff to the last, the experience is friendly and efficient, the room I stayed in was very spacious, extremely well appointed and super clean. Stayed in the middle of winter so noticed the double glazing and individual heat pumps in each room immediately as the apartment was cosy and warm throughout. Vehicles are securely parked underground with easy access to elevators and ample parking. There is a high level of security with elevators requiring room tags to access the correct floor adding additional comfort to lone travellers or people leaving and returning at odd hours. Finally - as an added benefit - you open the doors to the balcony and realise that there is small stream right behind the apartments that you can hear all the time. (Bit too cold during my stay to leave the balcony doors open over night, but in summer this must be the most tranquil experience ever) - I have advised my company, our corporate travel agency and my co-workers that this is by far the most outstanding property I have stayed in for a while and when in the neighbourhood, staying here is an absolute must.”

“If you are looking for a doggy daycare I highly recommend the dog garden. The super friendly staff are amazing with all breeds of dogs, they care for them like their own and the area is great for the dogs to run around but also socialise, learning and developing their senses. They are not locked in kennels at all like most daycares which isn’t fair on the dog. They also do photos throughout the day so you know how your baby doggy is doing! Only love for this place ❤️❤️❤️”

“My son and I over the years have returned to Orewa Kiwi Cabins time and time again. The 2 bed cabin is clean and ideal for our stay. We walk or cycle around Orewa as so central, 5 mins to the beach and to the heart of restaurants and shops. The owners have always looked after us, so come and stay, as it’s a terrific break away.”

“Clean and comfortable hostel with everything you'd need in the kitchen. The beautiful garden and balconys face a park and some city skyline. Great location for transport, felt safe and secure, everyone working there was incredibly helpful and informative!”

“Very reasonable price for EXCEPTIONAL service. The team really really love my dog and take wonderful care of him. He gets so excited each time he arrives - even though he’s been attending for years. They’re very good at communication and have the dogs well-being at the centre of everything they do. And the staff are bubbly and fun even after hot days running after the dogs. Highly recommend.”

“Would highly recommend Furry Babies Day Care to any dog owner. We’ve got our puppy during the lock down period, he was once a very shy boy due to lack of socialisation. “I cannot recommend Gone to the Dogs Kennels and Cattery in Judgeford highly enough! They went above and beyond to accommodate a last-minute booking over Christmas for my golden retriever, Bailey, and also took fantastic care of my two British Shorthair cats, Rocket and Ivy. The facilities are absolutely top-notch, clean, and well-maintained. The team’s customer service is simply amazing—they were so friendly, understanding, and genuinely cared about my pets’ well-being. A huge thank you to the staff for making this experience stress-free and ensuring my pets were so well cared for. “I managed to get my 6yr old booked in for 2 of the 3 day camps available these holidays and she had an absolute blast! The team leaders are fantastic, knowledgeable and full of patience. The activities are varied skill levels and always another option available or challenge to be met, Kayaks, Archery Abseiling .Meals were included and a 9- 5 day was full of action- highly recommend for any kids wanting to get out of their comfort zone or city and come enjoy the coast.”

Very calm, very quiet, and to wake up with that view in the mornings is just amazing. I would recommend this to any couple wanting a romantic and relaxing getaway. Plus, Waikehe island is a fantastic place in general, a minor tropical paradise. Don't miss renting a car and driving around the island to visit the wineries.”
