The hosts were very friendly. Plenty of parking. The accommodation, however, was subpar. So much maintenance is needed to bring it back up to an acceptable standard (even simple things like water blasting the deck to make it less slippery would help).
We had a wonderful stay at Fernhill Cottages in Auckland! The place was cozy, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The surroundings were peaceful and beautiful, making it a perfect spot to relax. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and attentive, always ready to help if needed. We recently stayed at Fernhill Cottages, as a family of 4, plus 1 dog. We greatly appreciated the accommodation being dog friendly. The location is lovely, NZ bush setting, with amazing bird song throughout the day. The cottages are well appointed for short stays. We had all the kitchen gear we needed to prepare meals, a decent sized fridge & full size oven and microwave. The bedrooms worked for us. The internet works well. Would recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in the North Shore area, handy to Albany and all the shopping and easy to explore the region from here. Thanks to Kirsty and the team!
We stayed at Fernhill Cottages for a month while in between houses. Cosy and comfortable and we were able to keep our furbabies with us which was such a relief. We'll equipped cottage with plenty of place to park and it even had a desk to be able to work as well. Thank you for having us Kirsty and Collin!
My husband and I stayed in Fernhill with our newborn for almost 5 months, and we really love it there. A cozy cottage tucked away in its own private little space with loads of greenery, birds and little bunnies running around. What’s more it’s only a 5 min drive to major retail outlets, and intercity bus station. So convenient! Colin & Kirsty were the most accommodating and lovely hosts, constantly checking in on us and providing us with the best comfort. Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful family stay at this cozy cottage in the woods. The peaceful surroundings and rustic ambiance made it the perfect as our first place in New Zealand. The kids loved exploring the nearby playgrounds, and we enjoyed staying outside the city but very close to all infrastructure. The owner was very responsive and helped with any issue. Absolutely amazing place to stay in between homes and our little dog was no problem being with us. So quiet and listening and watching the Tuis just beautiful. Colin and Kirsty are such lovely people so kind and caring. We would definitely stay there again.
Fernhill Cottages were a perfect find for us. We sold our house, hadn't brought our next home and needed accommodation for almost 3 months - with a dog! It was great to find something so close to where we previously lived and where we worked, but to be able to have our dog with us was the biggest thing. The cottage we stayed in was perfectly comfortable, with Sky Tv, power and water provided. We had extra's like a BBQ, storage and carport also. Colin and Kirsty are excellent hosts and ensured that we had everything we needed. It's a magical spot and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again or recommend it.
We stayed at Fernhill Cottages during our transition from Christchurch to Auckland. We are a family including two dogs and what a fabulous place to stay with your fur babies. The cottages are cosy and welcoming and offer everything you should need for a very comfortable stay. The park like grounds are so peaceful and full of birdsong and a wonderful place to walk your dog or for your cat to roam and play. We stayed with Colin and Kirsty for 6 months and enjoyed the whole stay very much. They are very friendly and have always been there if we needed any help. The cottages are well furnished and comfortable. The huge green garden with the trampoline and playground was always used and loved by our children. The location is peaceful, quiet and only a few minutes from Albany and Auckland away. We are very thankful to Colin and Kirsty for giving us the first home here in New Zealand, we will always remember them and the nice stay in the cottage. We recommend the cottages very much!
