“What a gem! The staff is so kind and friendly, and it’s really clean. The location couldn’t be better, we enjoyed the peacefulness and the sunsets (amazing). Just outside of town with great views of the Waikato. The pool is a sweet treat, too! Bonus! They even had a space to plug in an EV! I hope more EV users find this lovely location. I’d stay here again.”

“Good value and recommended. There is a variety of units, with the tidy larger suites more suited for a longer stay. The beds are comfortable and the lighting variable depending on unit type. Room service is excellent and the units are kept clean. Bathrooms are good. We liked having a separate toilet. Toiletries, which are of high quality, get replaced daily”

“We stayed overnight for a local event. It is in a good location for local eats, easy access to Hamilton city centre. While dated, everything was in order and clean. The couple who run it were friendly and helpful. Our son noted that it is in an excellent location to go to Waterworld, although we didn't go there on this trip.”

“This place is excellent the manager Mavis and her staff are lovely people. Straight across the rd is a dairy which is so convenient and up the rd 5mins is countdown. Please ignore the negative reviews this motel is beautiful.”

“We had just traveled 7 hours to Auckland to pick up a new caravan and wanted to get as far south before parking up for the night. We stumbled across this place after a Google search in Putaruru. What a life saver. Cash in the key return box, a powered site for the caravan and we were set for the night and a well earned sleep, before driving the rest of the way home the following day. “I booked a room as I was meant to stay there while attending a wedding but unfortunately I fell ill and was not able to attend this was the day before my booking and so the lovely people at Park lodge allowed me to cancel my booking with out charging me which I truly appreciate and would definitely stay there in the future.”

“Stunning hotel, that sits beside the lake for those that like going for walks or runs in nature, this is for you. They do have a gym and spa on-site though for those that don't want to leave the hotel. I have stayed here 3 times over the year and each room I have gotten, have always been very clean and have been stocked with everything I could of needed. The staff here from reception to the restaurant as well as the housekeepers are so Incredibly lovely. I highly recommend this place!”

“Have just checked out after staying for 3 nights in the family suite & cannot recommend this place enough. They have thought of everything, from flannels specifically for makeup to chilled water in the fridge. The beds were extremely comfortable, the space was clean, tidy & enjoyable. The spa was an absolute highlight & the staff are great!”

“Good motel that is reasonably priced. Didn't use the pool and spa but kids were enjoying it. It was also pet friendly which was nice to see. Friendly dogs about with some owners.”

“Possibly the cleanest and newest place I stayed in NZ. The room was huge, bathroom was spacious, kitchen set up was nice with fridge. Highly recommend the stay at this lodge! Only downside is bit far from CBD so about 30min walk into town.”

Staying in a storytelling house which used to be a school was special. We had a great stay in The Old School House!”
