“The gentleman who owns it was friendly and accommodating to my tardiness. A lovely old building that seemed to have a character of its own. The room a pleasant mixture of vintage and modern. For me, personally, a charming accommodation. A suggestion: perhaps move the history of the building to its own two pages, nearer the front? If possible, some photos and a map of the building. Lean hard into the near 100 years, as that's part of what drew me to stay here.”

“Overall, it was a great place to stay! We got warned not to stay on Ulster Street, but honestly, it was very peaceful and quiet the whole night. It was fully booked on Saturday as well. We stayed in apt 26, which is located upstairs. Be careful if it's wet and you are walking upstairs. it's very slippery. The room was a 2 beddy, very spacious for a 2 bedroom. Super king bed in one room (medium firmness) and 3 singles (medium to soft firmness) in the other. Our bathroom was quite large also. Walk-in shower, maybe 1.2m3, no bath, and toilet. The toiletries were eco-friendly and smelt very nice. For 5 guests, we were given 1 towel and 1 face cloth each. The heated towel rail was on, so when we had our showers, we had warm towels. Great selection of coffee, hot chocolates, and teas. Cutlery and crockery were clean. The entire room was spotless apart from under the beds. I bit of rubbish and fluff under the single beds. We had an aircon machine in the living room, the main bedroom and living room had smart tv. Unfortunately, the person who stayed in our room before us happened to leave the search history in the youtube search menu. Umm, it's a completely inappropriate search to leave up. We booked via Booking.com, which is quite easy and cheaper than other sites. Check-in was easy, and the reception person was friendly, although the receprion smelt like a string incense or curry smell, quite offputting lucky i was in and out for check in quickly. I was given a 250ml of meadowfresh milk and one set of keys. The guy took my credit card details and left. We always take photos before and after our stay to ensure we arent charged anything. Overall, I highly recommend staying here! For the price you are getting very good quality. We will definitely come back here.”

“After a long days drive and spending 2 hours stuck behind an overturned truck our plans of making it to Auckland where somewhat unrealistic! Into the AA book we go to find a well presented advert for Ballinor the biggest drawcard being the free WIFI internet, such a necessity these days and sooo annoying when you have to pay for it on top of your room. We arrived at Ballinor without a booking to be greeted by David a cheery and professional bloke, a-pon stating we only wanted the cheapest room as it was an unplanned stop and being tight on cash David kindly upgraded us to a room with air conditioning stating it was far too hot to sleep without it which we were very grateful for in the morning! The room was immaculate, modern (LCD TV, SKY, WIFI) and the courtyard out the back made a nice touch and was good being able to have a private space to escape the 4 walls of a hotel room! All in all probably the best place I have stayed in a long time! Keep up the good work David I will definitely be recommending you to friends and family! Definitely exceeded expectations for the price charged in comparison to other establishments!”

“I would highly recommend this hotel! Lovely service, super clean rooms, lovely crisp hotel sheets and perfectly adequate bathroom. Breakfast buffet was awesome! Even though it was next to the airport, I didn’t hear a single plane. Carpark right outside the room which made for easy unpacking and packing up. Would highly recommend.”

“I had a really pleasant stay here. The check-in and check-out process was super easy and efficient — staff were friendly and helpful throughout. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a short stay. Parking can be a bit tricky, so it’s worth planning ahead. If you don’t want to spend too much on parking, be prepared to park about a 10-minute walk away. Centre Place offers $10 parking if you register in advance, which is a great option. Overall, a great value hotel in a convenient location — I’d definitely stay again!”

“Free Function Room Hire. Was there for.21st birthday. Had a great set up and easy access to and from Kitchen. The old features to the place added character and great atmosphere. The bar tab procedure worked well.”

“First Time Stay – Excellent Experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a fantastic stay here! The location is perfect—right in the heart of Hamilton, with cafes, the river, and everything you need just a short walk away. The room was spacious, clean, and had all the essentials. The kitchenette was a nice touch for quick meals, and the bed was incredibly comfy with blackout curtains, ensuring a great night’s sleep. The air conditioning was just right for winter as well. The highlight of my stay, though, was the amazing Housekeeping staff. They were warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful, which made the experience that much more enjoyable. Also, the added bonus of free access to Les Mills was fantastic while traveling! The staff at Reception—Tony and Jackie—were especially accommodating. Jackie even checked my arrival time and car park needs ahead of time. Everything just felt easy, comfortable, and stress-free. I’d definitely stay again! Highly recommend.”

“What a truly lovely place to stay for our extended family's vacation! The old Farmhouse has been excellently up-dated, but with the old hardware and architectural details that make it unique and special. We have farm backgrounds, so having the sheep, chickens and horses nearby was an added blessing. The house was very well cared for with comfortable beds. We chose it for its central location to visit Hamilton Gardens, Cathedral Cove, the Spellbound Glowworm Caves, Maori Cultural Experience, the Redwood Forest Tree walk, Hobbiton Movie set, and Lake Taupo Maori Carvings Sailboat cruise. Each day we were able to set out on a different adventure and still come back to a comfortable place in the evening. We cannot imagine a better place to stay!”
