“Little slice of heaven!!! We spent the night at Oak Lane Lodge. What an enchanting house and an incredible garden with the most beautiful trees. If you are looking for a house full of period character features and a quiet getaway, I would highly recommend Oak Lane Lodge. Sue and Gary were fantastic hosts and could not spoil us enough. The food was outstanding, the rooms and bathrooms clean and tidy and the beds very comfortable. We would def be visie again!”

“One of the best places to stay in this area. I've have been a number of times and my mum has been staying here a few times a month for years for her work. They are very accommodating and quick to bring you something like extra towels. Their pool is under cover and is usually tepid. The rooms are clean and relatively new. They are also in the process of upgrading the bathrooms in all of their rooms. The owner is one of the loveliest people to deal with, she makes you feel welcome and as if nothing is a problem. My mum has back and knee problems sometimes so the owner would switch out dining room chairs with her own ones. You don't get this kind of service from many places.”

“Love this place would definitely recommend anyone to stay here. The room we stayed in was nice and warm and it had everything you need in the kitchen. Its affordable and the manager was even up late to wait for us to check in as we were travelling from Auckland. Love how there was another room inside with two singles for those who wants a quiet and peaceful sleep and a double in the main lounge if u wanna watch tv. My husband and I will love to come here again. And our parking was right in front of our room even more better. Thank you”

“As a traveler who practically lives in hotels globally, this place is absolutely top-tier. Finding staff this genuinely warm and eager to help totally proves my point: great service is completely defined by the little details... They just anticipate everything! Like when they enthusiastically brought us a side table for tea outside—even though we didn't ask Or the front desk noticing my glasses and politely handing me a cleaning cloth. Gotta love that kind of personal touch, it’s just phenomenal! If you appreciate a team where the details truly make the difference, you gotta stay here!”

“I had read alot online before coming here and I must say they are very good hosts and although there could be a couple minor things worked on overall we've enjoyed a relaxing stay while we wait for our baby to arrive. The hotel offers accommodation for people who have family etc at the hospital and the free shuttle service to and from the hospital is great. Awesome staff very friendly and polite and not over bearing or intrusive at all. I recommend this motel/lodge to anyone looking for a relaxed no hassle stay.”

“Room was clean and good sized. They took a deposit but I had never stayed there before and given it's proximity to the stadium they probably have some rowdy guests so the policy is understandable. Nice bathroom. I wanted a budget room and got it. I would stay there again. Five stars because anything less is considered derogatory.”

“This was literally the best hotel room I have ever stayed in. They even had a bath tub in the room. Fantastic view of city streets. Great 24 x 7 service, and wasn’t asked for a deposit on the room. And awesome free secure parking.”

“Great stay as the area was quiet and the apartment was clean and spacious. However, the cloth line was broken and the bathroom door could not be closed fully, leaving a gap that could see through the bath area. Worth noting that the check-in was at a different place but, the communication was great and we received reminders, directions & instructions for the check-in the day before.”

“Absolutely loved our time at the hot spring pool! The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. The 80s music playing in the background added a fun and nostalgic touch to the experience. What stood out was the careful water maintenance – minimal chlorine and sulfur smell, making the soaking truly relaxing. The different pool temperatures catered to all our preferences, and the large pool with the little cannon-like side was a hit with our boys. The real stars of the show were the waterslides – the fastest and longest in NZ, and they didn't disappoint! The rush of the "Kamikaze" slide and the excitement of the longest slide were beyond words. You can adjust the speed, if it gets too fast for you. We were trying to get it all from the slides, hence the speed fraction bruises here and there ;) but the bum-sliding challenge worth it (I won!!!) The only hiccup was the ice-cold shower, which felt more like a challenge, especially on a dark winter evening after enjoying the hot pools. But in a way, it added to the adventure! The bonus of having playgrounds, an aviary with peacocks, parrots, and doves, as well as free-range funky chickens, gave the place a unique charm. As a family with three boys, we had over five hours of non-stop fun. If you're looking for a great time, this hot spring pool is a definite winner. We're already planning our next visit!”

“Morning calm Lodge is a beautiful 21 acres to stay in with trees. I like being here.it's quiet. there are nice people here . I have been here for a while and I haven't had any problems here the boss and management are lovely people and easy to get along with and very helpful if it wasnt for the boss and management we would not have a roof over heads.its nice of them to accept animals. They are improving the 21 acres to make it more comfortable for the tenants that live here .”

“I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. My room was nice and tidy, well maintained, comfortable bed, easy access to the motel and lots of parking spaces. The Managers and Staff are also very polite, friendly, approachable and helpful. The best thing about my room was the big spa bath, it was so relaxing and with the jets going made it that much better, I'm about 6'2 and could comfortably lay in there. I will definitely be staying here again as I travel to Hamilton roughly every 12 days to see my two young daughters who also loved the place. If you're looking for an affordable place, tidy facilities, easy parking, comfortable rooms and friendly approachable staff then I'd highly recommend The Alcamo. “Stayed 2 nights. I spent many nights in this hotel in the early 2000s. The character hasn't changed, it is old world delightful. The room was clean and well serviced. This was a nostalgic stay for me but I am really happy I chose the "La Grand". It is incredibly good value for money. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.”

“My room was really well appointed, with everything I could possibly need for a one night stay. I loved the extra little touch of the Christmas card and treats. Just one recommendation - replace the terry-cloth bathmats with non-slip bathmats, as my bathmat slipped out from under me when I was stepping out of the shower, and I had a little fall. But otherwise, everything was great and the price was such good value, so I would happily return.”

“We were here for work purposes. Exactly what we wanted. Quiet , tidy and comfortable. Yes you have to get a yet 3km down the road. It’s very clear in their instructions so no problem for us. The beds a comfortable. Very clean as well. Service was exceptional. Such good value for money ! Only thing to note, couldn’t see a smoke alarm. And tv doesn’t fiction very well in room 2.”
