“Probably the best eggs benedict we’ve ever had! The staff were super friendly, and we even won a gift voucher from their scratch card — we’ll definitely be back!”
“I think I’ve visited every Sal’s Pizza store in Auckland and can say hand on heart that Highland Park have the best pizza, the bases are perfect with a little bit of crunch and all their pizzas are a home run. Great staff and service, try the buffalo chicken pizza next time you’re there and thank me later. James Ashwin Kakapo Business Sales”
“Heard so much about the Steak & Guinness Pie that we had to try it out. Hubby had the large one, me the small. Both did not disappoint and both were ample servings. Flakey puff pastry sealed over the top of a bowl of steaming hot steak filling, served with crispy beer battered chips and a green salad. Tasty and very well-priced. Great pub, awesome staff.”
“A great place to have a relaxing breakfast! Good presentation and even better tasting! Coffee come out quickly and so do the meals! All in the relaxing environment next to the Lloyd Elsmore parks.”
“We booked a table via First Table, so was able to get a good deal for a table of 4. We ordered the Pan-Roasted Lamb Rump and Butcher's Cut Steak. The food came out quickly and it was very tasty. Basalt is nicely layed out, with one corner for dining, another area where you can watch live sport and have drinks. As well as an upstairs area with music”
“Got food through Uber Eats today and everything was incredible! Top notch food. We ordered the fried potato and chicken and it had a really good amount of spice in it. The fried pork tenderloin was crispy and flavorful. Then the seafood with fishcakes was also delicious. Highly recommend.”
At Hollow Legs Lunch Bar, the menu stays classic fish‑and‑chips with tidy execution. Eggs land on point and toast keeps its crunch. Fillets arrive fresh and the fry keeps clean. Front‑of‑house runs with calm, helpful energy.
“Loved this cafe. Will go back next time I'm in Devonport”
“Myself and a mate have ben eating here frequently (2-3 days a week the past 2 years or so) and love the chilled atmosphere and staff. Quality lunch bar food with options to create your own (I order egg white omelette in the morning after the gym) - overall one of my favourite places to eat in the Airport Area!”
“It had been far too long since our last visit! The food remains exceptional, and the service is still top-notch. The entire menu is delicious, but the eggs benedict section is bloody good.”
“This is my new go to fish and chip shop. Fish of the day and hoki both at $3, an affordable add on to any combo (also reasonably priced). The fish batter was light and fresh, not too oily. The chips were nice and crispy. You can add your choice of salt. The burger was also delicious. I opted for the trevally raw fish and it was 10/10. Tons of parking, and ample space to dine in. Would highly recommend this spot.”
“Baked pork chop on rice with tomato sauce and baked chicken on fried rice with Portuguese sauce. Very tasty. Authentic Hong Kong food. Would recommend.”
“First Time at Old Town Malaysia Café Tried the Wan Ton Mee, Wat Tan Hor, and Fried Carrot Cake. The food was delicious, with flavors that reminded me of classic Singaporean street food—simple, comforting, and full of nostalgia. Portions are just right for one person. A great spot if you’re craving traditional tastes in a cozy setting.”
“My family, partner and I visited Paper Moon last night (with a reservation) and we were given the honour of being served by Lucy. Lucy was a great server, she was friendly and didn't talk as if she was reading off a script. We'd all 100% go back just to be served by her. She also recommended that we moved tables as the table we were on previously was tiny for the 4 of us. Not long after switching tables (roughly 5-10 minutes) the table was properly sanitized and cleaned by another server. So cleanliness was a 10/10! Onto the food, we got the Grazing Board appetizer to start and there was such a wide variety of samplers and everything was extremely well made, tender and flavourful. Great starter; 9/10. But along with the appetizer we ordered, I got a chocolate milkshake. I had my expectations high, maybe a bit too high. To everyone it just tasted like milk with a very VERY slight hint of chocolate. 5/10; you're better off with a soda or water. My partner ordered the Scotch Fillet and they loved it, though I felt as though it was too charred on the top. Overpowering the taste of the steak. But the steak fries that came with it were perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Overall; 8/10. My mum ordered the Grilled Salmon with Risotto, the salmon completely melted in your mouth, vegetables were perfectly cooked, not too hard, not too soft. This would make a perfect 10/10 dish, but I think the risotto was a bit too salty. Which kind of made anything that was touching it have a distinct saltiness taste. I'd give this another 8/10. My pop ordered the Beef Wellington, which we were told would take 30 minutes, but it came out with almost everything else. Everything tasted amazing. From the pastry down to the sauce. The beef was perfectly rendered and the pastry had a small amount of cheese separating it from the pâté. Even the mushrooms in it were extraordinaire. The only complaint he had with it was that it was a bit too small, but I give it a 9/10. And finally, I ordered the Salt & Pepper Squid Salad. Which at the time I was surprised that it took the longest, everyone's food had already come out and it took maybe an extra 5 minutes. I didn't expect much from a salad but when it came out I understood why it took longer. This was by far the best and biggest salad I have ever seen and ordered. We also thought the squid was going to be small cuts of squid but it ended up being multiple big tender-sized chunks of squid that were perfectly tender and fell apart in your mouth. The salad itself was a bit flavourless but if you incorporate the sauce/dressing that's given with it, it becomes a whole lot better. This, in my opinion was the best dish of the night. 10/10. Now, onto dessert! When we were thinking of what to order we had asked Lucy how big the desserts usually are and instead of her telling us some fancy wording on why it's small, she told us straight up, which we loved. We ordered the Tiramisu and the New York Cheesecake, both were quite small but it was a good portion for the 4 of us considering we were all full from our mains. The Tiramisu wasn't the best I've had, but it was definitely a sight for sore eyes. Looking at it I felt like I had travelled to Italy! The mascarpone was pretty good but the lady fingers were too hard and crunchy. It was as if I was eating a scotch finger. I give it a 7/10. And as for the New York Cheesecake, it was amazing. It was moist, flavourful and the base was a perfect texture and consistency. Though it was a bit too flavourful. The berry and passionfruit compote was very overpowering. If you put them together all you can taste is the passionfruit, but if you try it separately it just becomes too much, so try the cheesecake with a small pinch of the compote. Overall I give it an 8.5/10. We just want to give a big thank you to Lucy for an unforgettable night and we will definitely come back just for you! This is a great place for a family dinner, a date night or just drinks with your mates. Come give this place a try! (All pictures hopefully in the same order)”
“I had the pleasure of visiting The Grange in Takapuna, and it was truly a wonderful experience. The restaurant offers a warm and welcoming environment with a modern yet relaxed atmosphere, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a meal. The staff were friendly, attentive, and created a comfortable dining experience. The food was exceptional — beautifully presented and full of flavour. From the freshly baked focaccia with whipped ricotta and honey to the charcuterie board, the starters set a high standard. The mains were equally impressive; the creamy chicken and bacon alfredo was rich and delicious, while the market fish with squid ink risotto was refined and perfectly cooked. For vegetarians, the pumpkin risotto with truffle peas and goats’ cheese is a standout dish. The beverage selection was also excellent, offering a great variety of wines and drinks that paired nicely with the meals. Overall, The Grange delivers not only in terms of quality food and drinks but also in creating a friendly and enjoyable dining environment. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great dining experience in Takapuna.”

“A Consistently Exceptional Dining Experience I’ve been a loyal customer at Devon on the Wharf for quite some time now, and each visit reaffirms why this place is a true gem. From the moment you step through the door, you’re greeted by a warm, welcoming atmosphere that feels like home but with an elevated touch of elegance. Whether it’s for a casual meal with friends or a special celebration, this restaurant never disappoints. The food is consistently outstanding. Each dish is a testament to the skill and creativity of the culinary team. I’ve tried a variety of dishes, and they never fail to impress. The flavors are always fresh, the presentations are beautiful, and the ingredients are clearly of the highest quality. But beyond the incredible food, what really sets Devon on the Wharf apart is the service, and that’s where the manager truly shines. It’s rare to find someone who not only manages with precision but also exudes a genuine passion for hospitality. He has this incredible ability to make every guest feel valued and cared for, whether they’re regulars like me or first-time visitors. Their attention to detail, calm demeanor, and willingness to go above and beyond make every visit feel special. On several occasions, I’ve witnessed him take the time to engage with guests, ensuring that their experience is nothing short of perfect. It’s clear that the success of this restaurant is due in no small part to their leadership and dedication. In a world where great service can sometimes be hit or miss, he makes every visit an absolute pleasure. Whether you’re here for the delicious food or the stellar service, I can’t recommend Devon on the Wharf enough. It’s the kind of place that keeps you coming back, time and time again.”
“I’ve been a regular at this café for a long time, and it has always been one of my favourites. Among all the cafés and restaurants I’ve visited, they truly have the best service staff — warm, attentive, and genuinely kind every single time. I’m moving to another city soon, and feeling really sad that I won’t be able to come as often. I’ll miss this place and the amazing team here. Highly recommended.”
“This is one amazing place for a good meal and some really well made cocktails. We ordered for a meat pizza and 2 cocktails. It was really well made. The waitress also helped us in selecting what to eat. Clean bathrooms.”
“Great food and great atmosphere. The place fulled up quickly. All the food was great. Our server could have smiled or engaged a bit more.”
“Fabulous meal at Blondie’s tonight. We have a one night stopover locally and we were recommended to try this restaurant for supper. We all thoroughly enjoyed dinner and one of the best meals we have had on our trip so far. Highly recommended.”
“Great food, felt like I was back in the Middle East. Loads of food in a eat all you can buffet.for $30. Food was fresh and tasty, was very busy but they squeezed us in on a Saturday night. It's an eat and go type place, you godforsaken the food rather than the atmosphere. Would recommend for those who love Lebanese.”
“I popped in this morning while waiting for my car to be serviced down the road - staff uber-fine with me buying a coffee and setting up my laptop for a couple hours to get some study done - the blackboard menu won me over for a toastie as well - 5/5 so far as toasties go. Overall just a nice semi-rural down-to-earth welcoming vibe and I now have a cafe to visit whenever I'm in Waimauku with time to stop by.”
“Have had our work Christmas dinner here. It has been great good food and service. Nice environment. Generous portions. Cost $$. Well worth it.”
