Lovely food, been our go too Chinese takeaway for over 30yrs, the best deep fried won tons in the southern hemisphere....
First time here, not busy on a Thursday 9:30-10 pm. Food was fresh and crispy. The service was 10/10 very patient and pleasant workers. Not too salty or Oily and the oil was fresh. Love the wontons!! Best I’ve ever had doesn’t have any fillers inside just straight pork/onions I think. Sweet and sour sauce was not authentic but the pork itself was perfectly cooked so it outweighed the bad sauce, it was crispy, juicy and meaty. No complaints tonight
We were very disappointed with our food as weve had shanglee before so many times and their sweet and sour pork was always on. But this time it tasted like they pre heated it and it was soggy. Even the chips tasted like it was pre heated. So annoyed kos we travelled from Pukekohe for our food and it wasnt the same as before.
Haven't been for a quite awhile so was looking forward to a tasty meal. Sweet and sour Pork was tasteless and sauce more like vinegar. Chicken chow mein was tasteless and veges overcooked. Wontons normally my favourite were tasteless. Yes I too saw the chip prices, really would you pay $6 for 600g?? Sorry Shang Lee that was disappointing.
Really great place for good takeaways! We have to drive a bit to get there, but we do for the quality.
The meals were really good but the price is very expensive but where ever you go to other places now for meals it is very expensive kind Regards Peter
For years they have provided a quality menu in a timely way to help my family when we need yhe best Chinese food in the local community. Absolutely recommend Shang Lee...Dang you won't want to 'Lee've! Thanks.
Ordered food for my work break at 645pm, arrived and paid. Drove back to work and realised as i sat down at 715pm that they had given me the wrong food. Called and told them, they said they'd cook me new food if a brang the food i had back. So i took the food back and by this time it was 727pm... i know longer could eat as i had to go back to work. I expected some sort of compensation but to my disappointment i didnt get much. Free 6 pack of wontons. I explained that i wouldn't be able to eat the food they'd give me to replace the mistake they made until my next break at 930pm. That there error resulted in me having to drive a second time to and from the restaurant. Im a returning customer and thought they'd be more accommodating to loyal customers but alas they didnt care. I'll be driving yo New Ruby from now on. Very disappointing Shang Lee.
Shang Lee would have to be the best Chinese takeaway in New Zealand! Their smorgasbord selection is amazing, and their food is reasonably priced and of a very high standard. The only problem being, once you have experienced Shang Lee cuisine you won't like any other Chinese takeaway.
