I have order twice from them for delivery, there pizzas are great and I can understand that delivery can take some time i live 5min down the road if you take the main road its 3min waited both times over a hour just for a pizza.
Few weeks ago I bought a pizza from here and it had some green mold growing in the dough. I contacted the team and they said it was just a one time thing and it could happen Given that they prepare the dough before hand. But that shouldn't be happening if they check it properly and follow the food safety and hygiene standards. I highly recommend not to visit. That was a horrible experience.
I had my first visit to Sal's Pizza with my family, and it was such a great experience! We ordered the "5 Boroughs" large pizza and the half cheese pizza, and let me tell you – they were HUGE! The pizzas were fresh out of the oven and absolutely delicious. On top of that, the gentleman who served us was so friendly and welcoming. A big thank you to Sal's Pizza in Highland Park for making our meal so memorable.
I think I’ve visited every Sal’s Pizza store in Auckland and can say hand on heart that Highland Park have the best pizza, the bases are perfect with a little bit of crunch and all their pizzas are a home run. Ordered online, 15 mins wait, nice. Arrived after 20 minutes due to traffic. Upon walking in the store I see one staff member in the kitchen and two staff having a chat outside the kitchen. Sweet my order must be ready right? The staff member greets me only to give me a puzzled look when given the order details. Turns out they had not even started making the order, I might as well have driven down here and ordered. The wait time would have been identical. Why have the ability to pre-order food for a set collection time if you are not even going to attempt to make it...
Although this place may receive high scores from most people, my personal experience was extremely unpleasant. I placed an order in-store and was informed that it would take 10 minutes to prepare, only to then be told upon my return from walking my dog that I would need to wait an additional 20 minutes. Unfortunately, I had no choice but to wait. To my disappointment, the pizza I received was burnt. When I called the store to address the issue, I was shocked to be told that some people prefer it slightly burnt (If only I recorded this appalling phone call). After requesting a replacement, I was informed it would be ready in 10 minutes and confirmed my toppings twice. However, when I arrived at the store, I was told that my pizza hadn't been made because they didn't remember what I had ordered. I received a refund, but only after insisting upon it, and was given a coupon for a future visit without any apology. Based on my experience, I will never go to this store again.
The shop is located on the far end of the building but the signs should make it fairly obvious. The menu is simlar to other places and the group specials are handy for feeding a crowd. The interior is similar to the other branches with booths and tables. The menu is the same as the other places too. You can grab a slice, a whole pizza or something in between. I went with a half and half. It took about 15-20 minutes to get the pizza. Nice tasty pizzas. it was just as nice as the other places.
Delicious authentic tasting pizza! Slices are huge and really filling. You can order by the slice, half and half or whole pizza. The Grpup Special deals are pretty good. I ordered the Sal's NBL Steal, which is half and half Pepperoni and Cheese pizza, plus 4 Garlic Knots. Good things take time though, so expect to wait 20 mins for you freshly made order
