“Chill vibes, a beautiful environment, and stylish interior design. The lunch was delicious, and the service was truly outstanding. It’s a place where you can fully relax, absolutely perfect for a summer catch-up with friends.”
“Staff were great, food delicious.”
“The dumplings here are homemade, they are juicy, fresh and delicious, as are the xiao long bao. The pork belly is also a specialty here. There are an excellent variety of foods to choose from, though some dishes like the sweet and sour pork are not as tasty as from other Chinese restaurants. The service is very fast and the restaurant is clean and tidy. However the prices are quite steep without 1st table - $35 for the pork belly and $5 for a small bowl of rice.”
“This place has great food, but it's a hole in the wall, almost literally. It opened at noon and you have to go down this long hallway with bottles hanging. You sit on rickety wooden crates, there are 3 different rooms or sections. See if you can get the one in the back it's very laid back. We tried almost Eveything, I'd say you have a hard time finding something that you don't enjoy. Try the thumbs up if you're looking for Pepsi or coke.”
“Have been a regular visitor to Brothers Beer, but this time we went for beer tasting. They do serve matching bites with each beer as well. The variety of beer they brew is always interesting. One can brew their own hops as well. The people serving were absolutely amazing, and very friendly as usual. So many vivid choices of beer, you might love some, and you probably will hate some. But the experience this place provides is unparallel. A must go for all beer lovers !!!”
“I recently visited Boy and Bird and had the pleasure of trying their crispy chicken, and it was absolutely delicious! The chicken was perfectly cooked with a golden, crispy exterior that gave way to juicy, tender meat inside. The seasoning was spot on, providing a nice balance of flavours without overpowering the natural taste of the chicken. The service was also friendly and efficient, making for a great overall dining experience. Highly recommend Boy and Bird if you’re craving some top-notch crispy chicken!”
“Good Home Takanini is a fantastic place to dine. The food was delicious, fresh, and full of flavour you can tell the chefs put real care into every plate. The portions were generous and definitely worth the price.”
“Great spot on Waiheke Island. We went for a quick trip and felt hungry. We decided to give the restaurant a try and oh boy - did we made the right decision. Food was absolutely incredible. Super friendly staff and overall great experience.”
“Really lovely club. Sheltered outdoor seating, beautiful native park like gardens.”
“Have been to a few live music events here. Great atmosphere and staff are friendly. Lots of options re beverages and meals. The mural wall is a highlight and always enjoy our time”
“Probably the best karaoke bar in Auckland! Awesome modern air conditioned rooms, clean tidy toilets. Nice friendly service and food was delicious. Only issue is we werent offered happy hour rates and only found out about it on google reviews and a random poster outside the women’s toilets. Also would be perfect if they paid $39.99 for YouTube premium as the ads were annoying and wasting our hour.”
“The best sports bar in the area, awesome staff and atmosphere, friendly locals will not give you time to get bored. Good size TV's to watch sports and races, neat place.”
“Had a chat with the owner, he's from Taiwan. And since I was there last year working as a teacher, we had a great conversation. He's a really decent guy and his establishment is very nice and very presentable.”
“I am only marking 'atmosphere' down because our table of 4 was the only one occupied. We had 4 different meals and all were delicious. This restaurant deserves to be better supported. The decor has recently been revamped and is really nice. The menu is comprehensive and reasonably priced. There is also a BYO option for the budget conscious. I had the Chicken Rogan Josh... superb!”
“Fabulous dinner :) We came for a meal before a show at the Q theatre, and enjoyed the best burgers in town! Great presentation, flavour and price, thanks so much!”
“The place is just a replica of BBQ nation outlet in India. First they serve you all the BBQ dishes (Unlimited) like Chicken, fish, prawn, pineapple and Kumara. They also serve fried fish and potato with sause. You can then go ahead and enjoy the buffet food which has Indian and continental dish (just one). Overall the experience was very amazing and great service. The food was delicious and restaurant beautiful ambient set up gives a very relaxed atmosphere while enjoy the soft music in background. But expensive but worth a try. Good for family and big groups. Try for Groupon voucher to get a good deal and save some bucks.”
“If you’re looking for a spot in South Auckland that delivers bold Mediterranean flavors, laid-back vibes, and a complete dining experience, Eastern Grill in Manukau is one place that absolutely deserves your attention. Tucked away in the heart of Manukau, Eastern Grill offers much more than just a meal—it’s an experience. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with the grilled meats, and baked bread instantly whetting your appetite. The menu is packed with Mediterranean staples and crowd-pleasers. Whether you’re after a plate of crisp falafel, or creamy hummus paired with fresh, fluffy pita bread, you’re in for a treat. Their lamb is a standout—slow-cooked, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, wrapped in soft flatbread or served over rice. The chicken skewers are also incredibly tender, and the garlic sauce? Smooth, garlicky bliss. But what really sets Eastern Grill apart is what it offers beyond the plate. They have a relaxed outdoor seating area, perfect for enjoying the warm evening air with friends or family. The vibe is social and unpretentious, making it a great place to hang out for a while. Adding to that, Eastern Grill serves alcohol, so you can enjoy a cold beer or a glass of wine alongside your meal. And if you’re after a more chilled, social experience after dinner, they’ve got hookah (shisha) available in a range of different flavors—a popular touch that really brings out that traditional Middle Eastern lounge vibe. Whether you’re into fruity flavors like grape, mint, or apple, or something more exotic, there’s something for everyone. The staff are friendly, attentive, and more than happy to make recommendations if you’re not sure what to try. Service is quick, and portions are generous—great value for the quality and quantity of food you get. Whether you’re catching up with friends, going on a casual date, or just after a solid meal in a relaxed setting, Eastern Grill delivers on all fronts. It’s the kind of place you go once and immediately add to your regular list.”
“Connie and I came for two nights and accidentally stayed for the vibes. Somehow won a ridiculous amount of Jack Daniel’s merch (pretty sure we’re sponsored now), met absolute legends of locals, and were made to feel welcome from minute one. Food was genuinely great. Drinks flowed. The banter, however… truly terrible. World-class hospitality, bottom-tier jokes, and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Left with full stomachs, new friends, and more Jack Daniel’s branding than anyone should admit to. Would 100% return.”
“I've been there a few times a couple years ago until The Light Horse closed down. This used to be The Light Horse. Good location from my place. Food is still good. But How sad it is that they don't open on weekend. I hope they open on weekend. Will be back with friends.”
“Great customer service and food is always fresh and tasty! Love the chicken rice with fried egg! Sorry I’m so hungry already taken a bite!”
“Where to start. Easily my favourite Indian in Auckland. Great food, amazing prices, close to the central city where I live. It's unassuming brilliance, talking through its great food. The owners have a clear passion for traditional Southern Indian food, and it shows. Completely and absolutely recommended.”
“Very cool little pub, makes you feel like your in England...2 X Sirloin steak meals for $30”
“Great place to rest, refresh and refuel with great selection of food and beverages after a long international flight before catching the last flight home. Showers a bonus”
“This place has position, a great bar and restaurant with a locals / marina vibe. Clean and new, the menu has something for everyone. The mussels were incredible. Service is quick and attentive. Being a DB tied place, the usual selection of beer from there is on. Good wine list. If I was a local, this would be my local. It’s even got a sports screen pod which I guess is a good distraction for those that don’t want to converse. I love the bar stools at the bar too - an opportunity for this place to create a real locals vibe. Great stuff! Go here..”
“My Favorite NZ Spot: Where Every Weekend Was Magic (2000-2002) "This isn't just a place—it's a core memory! From 2000 to 2002, this was the exclusive weekend spot for my friends and me. I practically lived there and knew the whole staff; they were always so friendly and genuinely attentive. The atmosphere was super fun, and honestly, I still miss those nights! It holds so many great memories. I've already earmarked a return trip whenever I'm back in New Zealand. Can't wait to visit again!"”
“An amazing experience each time. The food is constantly great. The staff are welcoming and super friendly, a staff member Frankie never fails to bring a smile on ny face. Never a dull moment. Ive been coming here for years and each experience is always amazing. Highly recommend.”
“First time here trying this local pub. Was pleasantly surprised by the food we had the steak which was cooked perfectly, great sized portion and accompanied by fries and salad delicious! Good price too and cheap pints. We will definitely be back soon cheers!”
“Absolutely loved the all-you-can-eat ribs at The Kingslander! The ribs were tender, juicy, and packed with flavor — definitely some of the best around. The portions were generous, the service was friendly and attentive, and the whole atmosphere was lively and welcoming. Perfect spot for a casual night out with friends or family. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back again!”
