   I had read alot online before coming here and I must say they are very good hosts and although there could be a couple minor things worked on overall we've enjoyed a relaxing stay while we wait for our baby to arrive. The hotel offers accommodation for people who have family etc at the hospital and the free shuttle service to and from the hospital is great. Awesome staff very friendly and polite and not over bearing or intrusive at all. I recommend this motel/lodge to anyone looking for a relaxed no hassle stay.

   Was booked for driver and support person to stay during surgery at Waikato Hosp. Very quiet family room was provided. Clean and we'll appointed with full kitchen and separate bedrooms, so excellent for an extended stay. Only 2 km from hospital so is convient also.

   My self and my daughter stayed there from November 2023 to April or may 2025 off and on from gisborne. My son was a in patient at waikato. Loved this place. Comfortable as. All you need when your there for sick family members. Nice and close to the hospital. Fresh towels daily, rooms cleaned . Owner is so lovely and welcoming. Any requests we had she was awesome. My son come and stayed a couple times with us and was always welcome.. My husband and younger daughter come for some weekends from gisborne and the owner never had a problem.

   Have stayed here over a week , great location , amenities were topped daily except milk which was fine , sheets and towels and linen were changed and washed daily room service was great they do a great job at recycling . The place was full but we had a extra quest stay and they were fine , Although the tv we had the hdmi inputs never worked which was dissapointing as i had a ps4 and then i brought a chromecast thinking it was my playstation at fault none worked at all . Floors could be vaccumed daily and mopped i asked for a mop but none was availble . Abit more cutlery could be added to the rooms like can openers . But other than that the staff and team are really amazing people they hosted us well they were lovely and friendly for the price and the value of the place i would stay here again it was a good nights rest and my kids loved the beds , also close to city centre and hospital . Thanks team at Tudor motel yous are doing an awsome job

   There was hair in our bathroom upon arrival, the fire evacuation procedure was completely inadequate, much dust and a cockroach, a cupboard door without a handle could not be opened, the bathroom floor was sticky (assuming it had not been mopped), the reception desk was disorganised and unprofessional, and the microwave was barely balanced on a wonky shelf. All considered, this accomodation was overpriced, and we won't be returning unless it's improved.

   The cleanliness was great, nice bedding, and comfortable beds/pillows, a decent kitchen facility. However a few pointers that could improve - We stayed in room 12 1. Black mould in the bathroom on the ceiling and window silicon. 2. Rotten wall in the bathroom with a hole starting to form by the shower. 3. Curb side appeal is non-existent... It honestly looks like something out of a horror movie when you arrive. Maybe some paint, plants, new signs are needed. 4. The doors to our room were very insecure. There was no chain, or dead bolt for security. So it felt very unsafe. 5. Our smoke alarm started randomly going off, so we had to leave it outside reception so it wouldn't wake up our baby. (It was after hours)

   Would NEVER recommend this place to anyone!!! As soon as we arrived at the driveway you could tell the accommodation was going to be as miserable as the signage they have out front. We had the misfortune of having to stay here on two separate occasions and with the exact same results. When we first entered the room I immediately noticed that the carpet was dirty with stains and visible crumbs on it, and when entering the kitchen we noticed an unpleasant odour coming from the fridge area, the utensils appeared to have old food stuck to them, the cutlery was not cleaned properly, and the inside of the kettle was filthy and had things floating around inside of it. The toilet rolls were already half used, the shower, window sills and tap around the hand basin were black with mould, and upon using their bathroom towels on most of them we noticed grey / yellow stains and someone else’s little hairs stuck to them. Each night the cockroaches big and small would come out to greet us, and I found that a huge one was crawling just above my pillow on the head board before I went to sleep. The cleaning lady was incredibly rude and would bang on our door in the morning asking if we had rubbish then carry onto the next room, and when I asked for extra towels and toilet paper for my sister and myself, she proceeded to hand me one towel and a roll of toilet paper with an attitude as if to say this should be enough for your 5 night stay. We decided to leave after the second night and when I asked to be refunded for the nights we were not going to stay, they proceeded to act dumb, make excuses and stall for as long as they could, until they realised that I wasn’t going anywhere until they gave my money back that I was owed, too which they were visibly annoyed about. I can’t imagine how many people have been ripped off by them. I seriously could not wait to see the back of this place. This motel needs to been investigated or better yet shut down.
