Very good stay at Grosvenor Motor Inn. The rooms were clean and comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was convenient for exploring Hamilton. Great value for money — would happily stay again.
Recently needed a room in Hamilton on short notice. Decided to book this one based on locality & bus route to Waikato hosp. Everything was spotless and welcoming atmosphere. Studio room was spacious & all I needed. Reception person very friendly as well. Will definitely return there if needed.
My wife and I had a wonderful stay. The rooms were clean and tidy. Every thing worked and the shower pressure was great as well. This is not always the case in other places we stayed. The service was great and the staff friendly. We arrived very late and the manager was there to help me with the lock box. Service beyond the call of duty. 10 / 10
Our stay at Grosvenor Motor Inn was amazing. The staff are polite, friendly and helpful. The room (including the bed/linen), bathroom, fridge, cutlery and crockery were spotless. Not a hair in sight, no garbage or dust bunnies under the beds, no finger prints or uncleanness on the cutlery or crockery. Yes I am very critical. The pressure of the water in the shower and the hot water are amazing. Just be careful the hot water will scold if turned up too much. We have stayed in many motels through North and South Island and can’t recommend the Grosvenor more. Your stay will be enjoyable. We will be back to stay the next time we are passing through or staying in Hamilton. Thank you to the management and staff for making our stay a real pleasure.
Stayed for two nights no complaints. Heat pumps great, small fridge in the room works. Clean room, cheap, inexpensive, friendly staff and great location close to the cbd.
Our room has all facilities that we expect. Newly refurbished, it's very clean. Kids enjoyed the spa tub. The place has electric gate with a remote control, which gives a sense of security. Would definitely recommend.
Liked - The check-in/Check out was great, Air Conditioning unit was great, The Security Gate was great. Location was very convenient. Lots of parking. Staff was friendly. Put out enough towels for one person. Free Wifi is a major plus. Disliked - The Spa bath was clogged and the plug that's in the bath was very dirty. When I took a shower the water covered my feet and didn't drain well. Lots of screaming kids outside but that isn't the motel fault. The bath curtains were dirty. There were no "do not disturb" signs so when I was taking a shower housekeeping was knocking on the door. When I ordered my room and it offered two options I choose the one large bed option but they gave me the other options with the double and single bed.
We stayed in a 2 bed family room, we had cockroaches in our room and the oven was filthy, and the room had a strong odour of cooking smells, as if it needed a good airing out. The pool facility was fine, however could do with some general maintenance. When we went to drop our room key back upon checkout there was no one to be seen at reception, the door was locked and also no one answering the phone number supplied on the door.
I was very concerned prior to my stay at the very poor reviews but was pleasantly surprised. Although the motel needs more work and higher standards especially with room servicing with perhaps some cleaning when there are stays longer than three days. They made a mistake with ripping out the washing machines in the family units as there is only one very small laundry with a small washing machine and dryer servicing a large motel. Our stay was for a week in a two bedroom family unit. The beds although old are very comfortable. However the kitchen is tiny with little bench space especially with the microwave taking up most of it. The pool was clean and heated appropriately. It was very quiet. It’s not value for money with the tariff as I paid what I considered a standard daily winter rate and would expect better room servicing. However I noted that it’s undergoing a huge clean up with rooms being renovated. If they stopped cutting corners this motel could easily have a four star rating.
We booked the spa room as it sounded nice, however this was not the case. The room came with no towels and lacked basic amenities even though the booking states you could cook a meal in the room. The bathroom was filthy with mold throughout the shower and sink, the carpet had not been cleaned in awhile as we could see nail clippings, a fake nail and someone's glasses were under the bed when we checked we hadn't left anything behind. Overall our experience didn't leave any sort of impression. We will not be staying again or recommending this place to anyone.
