“This place was more than a home away from home. A pool spa Bbq.. Owners were amazing. Breakfast included 4 different cereals fruit. Different food items in room. It was amazing beds were really comfortable. The room bathroom was so clean. I think this would have to be one of the cleanest places I have stayed at. Something for everyone. Playground out the back AAA+ best to just ring for bookings.”

“Had a wonderful tour with Chris last Sunday. Chris is a very kind and handsome person who loves animals and care of them a lot. It was definitely one of the highlights of my trip with my family in CHC. I'm happy to learn about farm life and the stories of the animals, and we love the kune kune Pig -smile mouth!”

“Absolutely beautiful little retreat, the rooms are the perfect size for a couples getaway, the views are incredible and the best part was the hot tub at night with the stars and one of the best wines we have tasted. We feel refreshed and renewed. Lots of extra details that made this place such a gem, from Bluetooth connectivity throughout the room to the luxury bathroom and of course the super comfy bed. “Had a fabulous stay here. Very comfortable and clean room, with all necessary amenities provided. Fantastic spot right next to the cafe and Diamond Harbour eatery, with easy access to the ferry and lots of walking tracks. Really loved being able to have our dog stay with us too. “After a 9 hour flight and a night stay in Auckland, we were pleasantly surprised at our accommodations at Sumner Re Treat. We were greeted by Chris and she escorted us to our room. It was not only spotless, but very attractively decorated. Our accommodations came with all the necessary amenities, the decor was contemporary, and the location was excellent. There were numerous eateries within walking distance. Best of all, it was a short walk to the beach. I would definitely recommend Sumner Retreat if you plan on visiting Christchurch and want to get away from the City Centre.”

“Very convenient to central Christchurch. Stayed here a couple of times, Summer and Winter and the contrast is interesting. There is a back deck outside area with covers and heaters. Drag blankets from the games room too if needed. Cosy villa all around. Can't wait to stay again.”

“From the moment Fi showed my partner and I around Waipuna, we knew it was where we wanted to get married. Fi was warm, bubbly, and hilarious—she made us feel instantly comfortable and genuinely excited. Sarah was just as amazing, keeping everything running smoothly with her quick replies and eye for detail. The day itself was more perfect than we could’ve hoped for. The staff were lovely, the setting was stunning, and our guests couldn’t stop telling us how much they loved Fi (and her generous drink pours) and how beautiful the venue was. Being able to stay on-site the night before and after made everything so much easier, especially with setting up and packing down. I felt so calm on the day, knowing Fi and Sarah had everything under control. Everyone was blown away by the views, and our florals (done in-house by Katrin) were absolutely gorgeous. Waipuna was the perfect wedding venue for us—we couldn’t recommend it more!”

“Thank you Chet and Steve of being a very good and lovely hosts. Very good stay, the room is cosy, clean and comfortable. They have small little pantry in the room itself - coffee, tea, water and a kettle to boil water. Toilet amenities are also provided. And I like the surrounding garden with planted apples, pears, plums, lavenders and so many others. Walking distance to the nearby cafes and restaurants, and 15km to the Christchurch international airport. As my flight is very early, so I don’t have chance to have the breakfast, which I really love to do it in my next visit again.”

“Absolute fantastic value for money at the Darfield Motel. Friendly, helpful and accommodating staff. We stayed for four nights and wish we could have stayed longer. “Worked a Corporate Challenge in Christchurch this week. Commodore Hotel was exceptionally localed for both the event and airport. It has the most luxurious bed. It was like sleeping on clouds. The kitchen was open for a late night dinner, which was very much appreciated with finishing so late. The breakfast this morning was delicious. Offering both a Continental Breakfast and brilliant A La Carte. I opted for the Continental which was perfectly satisfying.”

“A quiet and wonderful home-style backpackers. The hosts, Alan and Keiko, are lovely and welcoming. The garden is gorgeous, and the rooms and facilities well kept. Definitely recommend staying, and will come back again!”
