   We had a wonderful experience at Silverstream Alpaca Farm. Kit was very welcoming and so informative. Their alpacas are super cute and we got to feed and cuddle them. If you visit Christchurch, make sure you take the short 20 minute drive to visit these gorgeous creatures. I would give 6 stars if I could.

   Absolutely loved our visit to the Silverstream Alpaca farm. Kit is amazing—super knowledgeable and clearly passionate about these animals, which really shows in how well they’re looked after. The alpacas themselves were the best-behaved and friendliest we’ve come across in all our farm tours around New Zealand. They were so gentle and honestly just adorable. You can tell they’re really happy and comfortable with people. Definitely a highlight of our trip and 100% worth the visit. Can’t wait to go back!

   We stayed here overnight. Alpaca tour was great, much better and more interaction with animals than anywhere else we’ve been. Kids absolutely loved it!! Owners were polite, informative and it is clear they have a love for what they do and the animals. Accommodation was comfortable, clean and had everything you’d expect. Beds were comfortable. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a farm stay experience instead of just a hotel in Christchurch.

   Definitely a place not to be missed - you will meet the most lovely alpacas here. We had a restful night’s stay with comfy beds and fluffy pillows. Many thanks to Kit for the farm tour and sharing stories which we truly enjoyed. We will be back to visit again!

   No heating in the cabin, it was so cold that it ruined our stay. It was freezing the whole night with blanket heaters only. The heat pump in the hall cannot fight against the cold. The host was great & friendly. Breakfast was minimal but adequate. But the cafe the host recommended had great food.

   Silverstream Alpaca Farmstay is a must-do experience for anyone who loves animals. We spent a night at this farmstay, and I can safely say this was the highlight of our trip. Kit and Sheryl are wonderful hosts, warm and hospitable and making sure our stay is enjoyable. Although Kit and Sheryl were busy preparing for the NZ Agricultural Show, Kit still made the time to take us on his truck to his other alpaca farm where we could feed and interact with his alpacas, and he was also very informative about his alpacas and answered so many of our questions patiently. He has a genuine love for his alpacas and it’s such a joy to see. And yes, the alpacas are utterly adorable, not to mention highly intelligent, and it’s interesting to learn about them. The accommodation is also charming and really comfortable. We had a large, spacious cottage to ourselves, it was clean and well-maintained, and the bed and furnishings were extremely comfortable. There are also beautiful flowers in front of our cottage and in the estate garden. Sheryl brought over breakfast items including bread, eggs, cereal, yoghurt, milk and spreads for us in the evening for our breakfast as well, which I think is such a lovely touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and we would recommend this farmstay and tour to anyone who loves animals.

   Came with our family from Australia to visit family and drive down to Queenstown to visit the snow. But came here for a night. Wow! We all loved Silverstream Alpaca Farm-stay and the farm Tour. It is definitely a hidden Gem for people wanting to visit Christchurch. Great alternative to a hotel stay. The accommodation was excellent. The whole family love the farm tour and our host was more than happy to share his knowledge and experience of running an alpaca farm. We were all able to get up close and personal experience with the Alpacas. Highly recommend a stay here.
