“Had a really good experience at Rydges Latimer Christchurch with my Lion group from Taiwan. I was struggling to find a place to park the coach, and Lama from the Front Office came out straight away to help. He showed me the possible parking spots and then personally guided my group through reception to the restaurant. Even though he was busy at the front desk, he still made sure everything went smoothly for us. We had dinner at Bloody Mary’s, and the restaurant was great. Everyone had steak booked, but since I don’t eat steak, they kindly arranged chicken for me. The food was really good and the whole team looked after us well. Big thanks to Lama and the staff at Rydges for making our visit easy and welcoming.”

“Such great customer service. They replaced our sheets, washed the dishes and left new towels for us every day. The communication was also clear and fast. Even though it is near a main road the traffic was light in the evenings and the rooms have double glazing, so I was able to get a great sleep. The heater was left on before we arrived so the room was nice and warm. Also really competitive pricing. Thanks!!!”

One particular reception staff Aaman went over and above enabling us together concert tickets that we could not access.He really made our stay brilliant. “Cozy hostel in the heart of Arthur's Pass Village. The owner Tash is fantastic and very responsive over phone (if you don't see her in-person) if you need anything (I had an check-in issue from booking third party). Large size community kitchen with everything you need. Dorm and lounge areas were very spacious and had all the basic necessities.”

“Myself and two family members came to stay in November for surgery. The dates changed from a few nights, to a week, then to 2 weeks. Rose was incredibly accommodating, she made us feel like we were at home. Rose is an Incredibly beautiful person and me and my family would return there anytime we go back to Christchurch. Rooms are dated, but still nice and very clean, lots of heaters for winter, rooms were very large with full kitchen. Absolutely worth 5stars, lovely owners who genuinely appreciate and go out of their way for their guests”

“Wouldnt ride anywhere else, absolute quality instruction with fantastic well cared for horses. They even offer riders the opportunity to compete on their horses which is awesome. You not only learn how to ride, you learn everything from horse mastership, grooming , how to lunge correctly etc.”

“We found ourselves with an hour to spare while our car was being serviced and on recommendation, went to the Crate & Barrel for breakfast. We were made very welcome on entering and were seated next to the fire. While our breakfasts were being cooked, we were given a guided tour to look at the extensive memorabilia. Wow!! The sports section was impressive as was the musical instruments as wall art and many other collections. Food was delicious and plentiful, coffee superb and service impeccable. Highly recommend and we will be back soon.”

“Stayed as a family of 5. The facilities are amazing for kids. We were allowed to bring our dog which made the trip so much less stressful. The park had a bunch of activities organised for the kids for Halloween which meant the kids were happy with not going trick or treating. The pool was SO warm, despite the cold snap. We will be back for sure”

“Great hostel in a good location. Parking space at the hostel, but if that's full there is plenty of street parking. I loved the design of the hostel with different houses and a lot of grass space. Good security in the hostel as it has a card key for the building and each room. And there is also a safe for each person in the room to use. Each bed has two USB plug and two outlets. My only complaint was that the beds were pretty uncomfortable and springy, but I really enjoyed the hostel and it's a great value so I'm still giving it 5 stars. Kitchen was soooo impressively clean and so were the toilets and showers. Each one is separate and you get your own space in the showers. Lastly, cool staff! Thanks for being so chill!”

“We find this motel so good. We use it every time we fly out. The early morning shuttle is a great bonus too. The rooms are clean tidy nd very comfortable. Jeff nd staff are great hosts nothings a bother..We will def continue to use this motel.”

“This was a real great find. Stayed somewhere different and chose here due to location and a kitchenette. Room was clean and nicely appointed. Staff were super helpful and friendly and it is only a short walk to the shops and a short commute to the city. Will definitely be staying here on my next trip.”

“Oh my goodness thank you for the great motel, we have been looking for a place we can regularly book when we come to Christchurch and after trying many different options it feels like we have find a home away from home. Amazing customer service, made to feel so welcome from moment the booking was made we felt welcome, and to arrive to be greeted by a smiling and welcoming face and going out of his way to make changes to accommodate our changes. I felt relaxed, appreciated all the small touches, such as extras bathroom products in the cupboard. Just outstanding, I know where we will be coming for future appointments. “A decent motel with comfortable facilities and a central location. The motel overall has a slightly dated look, bit the facilities and furnishings are modern. The room was spacious, comfortable bed, decent furniture, modern bathroom with newer fittings and ample amenities, while good kitchenette and appliances. The car parking however is very tight and with a bigger vehicle it gets tough to park and take out vehicle. Location wise is pretty central. Good value for money and recommended for a short stay. Below is the detailed review: Location: The motel is ideally located with a 5 ~ 10 min drive across major attractions in the city. Access to and from airport is also straightforward. Walking to places may take slightly longer but it’s a walkable city so no issues at all. Rooms: The rooms have a nice large king size bed, with clean and comfortable mattress, pillows and sheets. The room had nice cane made chairs and a table. The closet has decent hanging space, and it also contained the iron and ironing board. Decent space to keep the luggage as well, along with a flat screen TV of smaller size. The kitchenette had plenty of crockery and kitchen ware along with a decent toaster, slightly older electric kettle, and a microwave oven. Bathroom: The bathrooms are relatively modern, with a separate shower cabin. The water pressure in the shower is not the best despite the bathroom being on the ground floor. The wash basin is also a bit small and water splashes out which is not convenient. Shower cabinet contained bath gel and shampoo only, while a small moisturizer bottle was provided in the bathroom. The hair dryer is fixed in the bathroom and is of a decent size. The towel rack is also heated. Plenty of towels were provided including hand, face, and shower size. Additional toilet paper and air freshener was also provided in the bathroom. Additional Facilities: The WIFI signal and speed was very good. The laundry has two machines and one dryer, for which the dryer was out of order, however alternate option was provided through reception. The car park has 1 spot for each room, but the parking space itself is too tight and gets difficult to park and take out the car when the lot is full. Staff: It’s managed by the owners who are an older couple and very helpful people. They made good arrangements for our late check in and also helped us with additional parking spot that was available. The cleaning staff were also very efficient and nice people.”

“Have stayed at this hotel many times and I have to say it definitely is one of my favorite hotels to stay in lovely staff lovely rooms comfortable beds and spa jet bath in our room, the only thing I would recommend is getting the place fitted out with sound deading can hear people in room next to you other than that the restaurant food is pretty awesome, my main highlight everytime is the buffet breakfast it is top notch”

“We stayed here twice recently on our way in and out of NZ. The service was amazing. Each person we spoke with was friendly and helpful. The woman who works the night shift and does the shuttle runs in particular was incredible. The rooms were clean and well maintained. There’s an onsite restaurant and playground. The shuttle service was very much appreciated as we had one of the last flights in and first flights out. We would definitely stay here again.”
