    The hotel is 4 star at best. When we checked in they didn't inform us about the self laundry service. They didn't ask if we need assistance with the luggage. The walls are thin, can hear voices from the corridor. They dont provide room slippers, had to ask. The rooms are small with low ceiling. There is only one tiny dustbin in the bath room Otherwise the rooms were clean and location was decent.

    Nice clean modern hotel with nice people. Great breakfast in The Lane cafe / restaurant. Only demerit was the toilet paper - when your accountant tells you you can save money on the toilet paper don’t do it! No-one wants a cheap toilet paper incident do they? Parking quite expensive ($30 per night) so allow for this

    Overall a great stay. Friendly and attentive staff in a welcoming modern venue. Comfortable quiet room was more than adequate for 2 nights. Perhaps a bit small for a longer stay but the kitchenette compensates for that. Good breakfast attended to by efficient cheerful staff, even on a busier day with a tour group. Limited onsite parking; paid valet service had that sorted. Limited nearby restaurant/cafe and grocery options, but not a big deal with car or foot in a very walkable city.

    A great place to stay in Christchurch. This team really understands the word hospitality. Smile, welcome, attention to detail, willing to cooperate and making you feel at home. The front of the house team, led by the gorgeous Vee, is sharp and fast. The restaurant team, led by Mandy, is efficient, welcoming and gregarious. The coffee made by Alexis and Anny is divine, delicious and gorgeous. The chefs in the kitchen are accommodating to your special requests. Thanks so much for making my stays so wonderful.

    I was so lucky to see the amazing Kim and Alanah again after 12 months (the last time a stayed at this amazing hotel). And what’s more, they still remembered me and even knew my name!! They both welcomed me like a family member. It was so lovely to see them both again – they made me feel so special. What a WONDERFUL asset they both are to Sudima Christchurch City – you are very lucky to have them both as part of your team. Thanks so much Alanah and Kim – you made my holiday so special.     Sudina is a lovely place to stay. The rooms are nicely appointed with rainshowers, hair driers and straighteners, blackout curtains and very comfortable beds. The restaurant is nice too and the staff are very helpful and attentive. Definitely recommend! We had a lovely stay.

    Always a friendly chatty welcome. Rooms are immaculate. Love the shower bombs in the bathroom, nice touch of luxury. The room service was excellent quality and very quick to arrive.

    Stayed June 2023, Superior Room. Pros: Beautiful facade Helpful and friendly staff Room is clean, modern and new Near to Botanic Garden The Lane restaurant within the hotel serves superb food. But portion too little. Cons: Water pressure is pathetic, unacceptable for a 5-star hotel Bathroom has no shower door to place towel/ clothes The two wall hooks are also placed too close to each other Low quality toilet tissue Luggage stand is too small Corridor is dark Around 10-15 mins walk to City Center where most of the restaurants and shops are. Unpleasant to walk during winter. Unlikely to return due to its location and water pressure.

    My husband and I stayed 3nights to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Catherine at the reception put us into an unprepared room but she pretended as if she did a good thing for us to make an a bit early check in when we said we could just leave our bags. Maintenance guys came in and apologized. Sam was very nice and I wished we should have gone to Sam at the reception. While talking to Sam, Catherine started the check in process with my husband. We learned when we checked out that we were supposed to be in the other room where a flight attendant that I saw went in instead of us. The room where we stayed was executive room but it was rather small. There was no welcoming message that I read on another reviews. Another thing was ridiculous. A young male staff refused to give us a tea towel by saying that they didn’t have it. We then asked for a tissue box and he refused to give it either. We later complained about this to the reception and this was acknowledged. One good thing was that the bath was good. This hotel is not a 5 star hotel. Executive room is also not big enough to be called as executive room. The service was terrible from the young male staff. Catherine at the reception was very mean but disguised it. Sam was very nice. Overall, it was very mixed service and should be like 4 star hotel rather than 5 star.
