   Stayed 5 nights and loved my groundfloor room! Every comfort of home. The bed was amazingly comfortable with different pillow sizes from which to select just the right one for your head. Kitchenette had everything I needed, for example, didn't have to go shopping for detergent or wash cloths. Lovely, super hot shower and a big bath. Loved the bedside lamps which gave a real homely feel, very welcome after busy days of being on the go. Close to shops and restaurants and not far from the city centre. Very quiet despite being close to the road, although I had a room towards the back of the property, which may have helped. The only (mild) negative was the tight on-site parking which was really only a problem for me because I was driving a hire car and wasn't quite used to its dimensions haa haa.

   I travel a lot for work, I usually stay at a quieter motel. But this time I had to stay here, it was OK. I would class it as a good budget motel. Nothing flash just a good place to stay for a reasonable price. Clean and tidy, walking distance to 15+ eateries. SOYO gelato is too close !

   We are a family of two adults and one teenage son doing a road trip on the South Island. The Metropolitan was a great base in Christchurch being 5 minutes walk to Riccarton mall, a cinema and lots of eateries. Totally recommended with very friendly service. We stayed one night on our way south and loved it so much we came back for two more as we drove north.

   Marco was super helpful and friendly. Location was unbeatable.. close to bus stop , University and Mall and restaurants. Room was very comfortable and had a great little lotchem. There was a bit of condensation issues in the bathroom.

   Stayed for 2 nights when first arriving in Christchurch, the motel was so good that we returned for the last 3 days of our trip. Marko was very accomodating and the beds were amazing. Could barely hear the traffic despite being on a relatively busy road, and was very nicely located to the mall. 10/10

   The room has heater in the living room, toilet and bedroom! It even has heated bars to hang your towels. It's unusual as most of the room we booked only has one heater in the living room and toilet. The shower water is consistent as in the water won't turn cold suddenly. The room was clean and spacious. The motel is near Westfield (walking distance like 5min). The check-in was easy and the receptionist was friendly.

   This is our second stay here. First night we booked for the townhouse but then decided to move to the main house accommodation as I felt it was more modern even though they are slightly smaller in size. The owner/manager of the motel was very helpful and accomodating and I would definitely come back again. Probably the only feedback is that perhaps they should also modernize the townhouses to the same spec as the main part of the motel.

   I stayed at Christchurch metropolitan in Feb ‘23, last time before that I stayed there was Feb ‘16. I love the people who run this motel, the service & position of the motel. I do recommend this place to people I know who are going to stay in Christchurch.

   The service was exceptional. We received a small care package upon arrival. The rooms are adequately sized perhaps at the smaller end of the scale but was just a place for us to sleep as we were out all day. The proximity to the mall was nice. Parking was the only issue as the parks in the motel are difficult to get into. Would definitely stay again.
