I asked for a special request for the sandwich and he was very kind and patient with how I wanted my food, he was working alone in deli, shame on the management for making the poor guy work all alone in deli, having to handle the kitchen but also the customers, well done lucky keep it up! Enjoyed my food a lot❣️”

“St Lukes Animates Grooming did an amazing job with my toy poodle, Tiny. The staff was welcoming, and the salon was quick with high standard level. Tiny came out looking adorable with a perfect trim. Their attention to detail and genuine care were impressive. Highly recommend!”

“Very efficient. Medication is delivered promptly. Notifications of next delivery are sent well in advance as are reminders when prescriptions need refilling. Staff are very helpful if there are issues or queries and the fact they only charge for medicines which are not covered but no charge for prescriptions or postage is amazing. I can't recommend this service highly enough.”

“Stopped in for lunch while getting a car serviced. The guy working stated they'd just opened so the wait time was longer but I wasn't in a rush, so not an issue for me. Service was friendly, food was served fresh and hot. Good lunch spot!”

“After an initial rocky start with noisy neighbours, the hotel reception shifted me to a different floor. The old room and the new room were identical. Both of them were great and quite clean maybe 9/10. The bed was comfortable, also clean and medium firmness, which I liked. Shower pressure in both rooms were good. Generally, I think this is a good place to stay if you need to be on Auckland's North Shore. Interactions with reception and housekeeping were always pleasant. There were very, very minor issues like the kettle flap was broken, the dryer ran extremely loudly. I was a little embarrassed to use the dryer at night due to the noise. The towels were thin and could be thicker.”

“Loved staying here, the people and atmosphere were really nice there. It had a rustic style that gave it a proper hostel vibe unlike some others around Auckland. Place was clean and staff were super friendly. The area is not the best but I never had any issues walking the street at night. The only issue I had was the dryer costs $6 and it didn't dry my stuff, I had to use it twice to get my stuff dry. Apart from that I'd recommend this to anyone.”

“We often stay at city of sails as it is close to our children's house, but it is also a lovely motel. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The beds are very comfy and the rooms are nicely decorated and clean.”

“Staying here tonight. Place is amazing so far. Especially for the price. Were very accommodating, switching us to a ground floor room to make it easier with a toddler. Room is clean and large and dinner from the restaurant was delivered to our door and was delicious. Wish we'd booked for another night!”

If you’re after low prices without the bells and whistles, it ticks the right boxes. The store is spacious and easy to navigate, even during busier times. Aisles are wide, shelves are usually well-stocked, and signage is clear enough to help you find what you need without wandering too much. The overall vibe is no-frills, but things generally run smoothly and efficiently. Prices are sharp across the board — groceries, meat, produce, and household items all come in at the lower end, especially if you keep an eye out for specials. The fruit and veg section can be a bit hit or miss depending on the day you visit, but most of the time it’s decent. The meat section usually has a good range at affordable prices, and the bakery offers the basics like bread, rolls, and a few sweet treats. Staff are usually around if you need help, but it’s a typical Pak’nSave setup — more of a DIY experience. Most people are just in and out, focused on the shop, so don’t expect high-touch service. That said, checkout lines move fairly quickly and self-service options help if you’re only picking up a few things. The carpark is decent with a fair amount of space, though it can get full during peak shopping times, especially weekends. The location is handy too, close to other shops in the area, so it’s easy to tick off errands in one go. As with other Pak’nSaves, the online listings don’t always match what’s in-store, so it’s best to go in with a flexible list rather than expecting everything to be there. Overall, Pak’nSave Silverdale is a dependable local spot. It’s not fancy, but it’s clean, roomy, and delivers on what really matters — saving money. If you’re in the area and want to stock up without spending too much, it’s worth the stop.”
