“The food was just spectacular. Every bite was another indulgent flavor to experience. I personally enjoyed the Lemon Leek Risotto, it was tangy and perfectly cheesy. The service was so nice and friendly. I sure felt welcome to have the delicious food. The setting is very cute if you enjoy two spaces coming together nicely. If not such a fan of the bar there is a more divided section of tables not visible to the bar. Both settings were very enjoyable. The walk into the restaraunt was very cute and gave me a good feeling, and the feeling was right! Enjoy your food and place at the same time. I really recommend it!”

“We had the most fantastic experience at Mudbrick - I highly recommend visiting! Brooke did our tasting, she was so friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel very comfortable. The wine was absolutely delicious (we went for the “Waiheke Tasting” and we loved all four of the wines). We sat outside, the views were incredible across the island and Auckland in the background. The waiting staff were friendly and the food was absolutely delicious and so aesthetically pleasing. The foccacia was the best I’ve ever tasted!”

“Such a gem! One of the best meals we had in NZ. The ceviche will change your life. We were basically licking the plate. Cocktails were fantastic. Doesn’t feel as touristy as other spots on the island which is nice as well. We were only stopping in for a snack and it was so good we ended up doing full blown dinner here. View of the ocean down the road from outdoor seating. Thank you to the chefs and wait staff for a wonderful meal and time!!!”

“If I could give more than 5 stars I would! A few years ago I was pregnant,tired and incredibly hungry and all the restaurants were actually closing their doors, including vino. My poor husband ran up just as you were closing the doors and asked if you had anything spare he could buy for me quickly. Without hesitation you actually turned your ovens back on,chatted to my husband about life,and made me a double portion of pasta FREE of charge and said it was a gift for us and our first baby. I genuinely cried at how generous you were to a total stranger. Don’t know if you remember this at all,but it’s always stuck with us! Highly recommend to anyone and everyone.”

“We had brunch on Waitangi Day (Thursday) and absolutely loved it. For the first time, I had a smoothie that was actually better than the ones I make at home—so thank you for that! We went back on Saturday, but this time, the smoothie had noticeably more spinach, which caused it to oxidize quicker. I don’t have a picture, so you’ll have to take my word for it—it was much darker in color and less sweet. That said, the breakfast quality was just as great as the first time.”

“The Hunting Lodge is such a beautiful wedding venue. As a wedding photographer, I always love shooting here. The grounds are stunning year-round, and the sunsets over the vineyards are next level. There are several ceremony options, including right at the edge of the vines or beside the iconic Barn. I also love the vintage caravan bar, it adds such a fun, relaxed energy and looks amazing in photos! With their in-house wine, relaxed vibe, and versatile indoor-outdoor flow, The Hunting Lodge is one of the best winery venues in Auckland :)”

“Good service, the waiter let us sit on a table for 4 after ai asked even though there were only my friend and I. The food was very tasty, my friend is a chef and he tried the salmon and said it was fresh caught. Nice and quiet environment, probably also because we got there after 3PM. Anyway, very nice eating experience.”

“My work team had an end-of-year function at this venue. The feedback I have received from the attendees - some 150, loved the venue the way we had the option of both indoor and outdoor seating. Phil was great with the food and the timing of it. People appreciated how he had a table for all of the dietary requirements folk so their food did not get swallowed up with the general population! From the outset Phil made it about our event, what we were looking for, our expectations and he made it all happen and within our budget! I know we will be having regular events at The Birdcage! His staff are friendly and very welcoming. Thank you Phil and Team.”

“Amazing staff! Such great people. Friendly, knowledgeable, professional and bringing the chill vibes. The range of drinks is outstanding- great pints and they even have our fav; Morning Cider. The building is beautiful - old world solid wood with plenty of intriguing curiosities gracing the walls. There are cozy spots hidden all round the venue so it can feel intimate even when crowded. Decent food - we weren’t big fans of the wings ‘cause we like them classic-style with crispy skin, but we’re from London so we get picky when it comes to fried chicken, these are American Buffalo style as stated on the menu. This is, however, the best pub on the waterfront. We go here whenever we’re doing a shoot in town and the team are brilliant hosts. Thanks guys!”

“The atmosphere and customer service at this place was amazing. We sat outside and it was steady in terms of customers. A friend and I attended for afternoon cocktails and dinner and the food was absolutely sensational. We ordered the olives, the bread with burrata, the lamb and the beef and honestly the amount of food for the quality and taste of the food was unmatched. The service was quick - polite - all round a great experience. Will be going back again soon for sure!!!”

“I have been wanting to visit this place for a while to have their famous roast and was worth the wait. I also like the atmosphere. Very good bar and a fantastic place to watch sports. Update: Normally I always go for the amazing Sunday roast dinner, but on my last visit I noticed the updated menu and saw they had Gammon, Egg, and Pineapple with hand-cut fries. I haven’t had that in years, and it’s rare to see on a menu these days. The nostalgic taste was absolutely amazing! Highly recommended. I would highly recommend booking in advance for a table in the weekends as this places gets busy and I can see why. Still fantastic service and great staff.”

“I've always loved the cozy atmosphere in Galbraiths with a hand pull ale - makes me feel like I'm back home. Enjoyed a decent fish and chips there the other week too. Other than the beer, maybe the best part is the awesome beer garden. Whilst I saw Galbraiths as a winter pub for years, now it is one of my favourite spots to sit in the garden. Plenty of shade, but also plenty of sun, beautiful plants and a great atmosphere”

“This has to be the best local bar in Auckland! The service is exceptional, with amazingly friendly staff who make you feel right at home. The atmosphere is brilliant—lively, welcoming, and full of good vibes, with friendly local patrons adding to the charm. The beer selection is fantastic, with something for everyone, including some great craft options. The food is simple but absolutely delightful. The three-cheese toasted sandwiches are an absolute must-try, especially at midnight—they’re to die for! Plus, the option to grab fish and chips from the shop next door and enjoy them outside adds a unique, laid-back charm to the place. Perfect for unwinding with friends or enjoying a great night out. “We had a birthday dinner for my mum and the food and drinks were amazing. I had the passionfruit mocktail which was out of this world! Tried a variety of dishes and enjoyed all of them. The pork was succulent, the octopus was soft and delicious. Fish burger and truffle fries with Parmesan to die for. This is a beautiful restaurant atmosphere with excellent food and drink options and would highly recommend”

“Amazing food. Amazing service. I booked through the “first table app” for something new and different. If it wasn’t for the “first table app” I wouldn’t have discovered this little gem. I wasn’t expecting such delicious food. Very tasty and comforting food. I highly recommend this place to my friends and family. I hope to be back again for the cream brûlée because it was to die for. The only down side is it’s noisy depending on the day you go, parking can be difficult and the bathroom is not maintained properly but other than that the place is perfect.”
