Every time we go here the food has been great and the service is always next level amazing.

The coffee was really good — nice temperature and you could really taste the flavour. The latte art was on point too. But the food was pretty rough. The bread was a bit burnt, and overall it just wasn’t great. The manager did apologise and gave us a free dessert, which was nice, but we won’t be coming back.

Visited this cafe last weekend and the coffee was so good! Barista Tommy’s super chatty and friendly, and check out this swan design ,so cute! I’m totally coming back… Also, there’s a lovely Asian girl working here who provided amazing service!

My partner and I had breakfast here this morning. Started with being ignored by staff for 20 minutes. The couple next to us offered us their menus and said we would probably need to go in and order. So I did. To be told I should have waited at the table because "I was on my way". Scrambled eggs with bacon on Ciabatta for me, creamy mushrooms for her. Long black and flat white. After waiting another 30 minutes our food arrived. One egg scrambled, 2 small bits of bacon plus 2 small and thin slices of bread. No butter or any attempt at plating. Eggs were lukewarm but I was too hungry by then to be bothered with sending it back. Bacon was ok but measly, bread definitely stale. The creamy mushrooms were also lukewarm but nice according to my partner. Coffees arrived. Long black looked like it had come out of a day-old filter pot. Zero crema. Flat white was similar but disguised by over heated milk. All in all a very poor experience compounded by the staff being either absent or inept when present. Needless to say we won't be back.

We had brunch on Waitangi Day (Thursday) and absolutely loved it. For the first time, I had a smoothie that was actually better than the ones I make at home—so thank you for that! We went back on Saturday, but this time, the smoothie had noticeably more spinach, which caused it to oxidize quicker. I don’t have a picture, so you’ll have to take my word for it—it was much darker in color and less sweet. That said, the breakfast quality was just as great as the first time.

We were at Orewa for a couple of days early this month and came across this cafe open early. It was already packed but we managed to find a table inside. I was really impressed with the service! There wasn't even a long wait for the food and coffee to be served. We ordered the ugly bagel with salmon, pancake with berries, and ham and cheese croissant which we enjoyed very much. The only place we had breakfast the whole trip to Orewa! Thank you to the amazing and friendly staff.

This is a cute wee place to dine. The food was awesome and my spicy Chai latte was excellent. The only downside was that within moments of arriving wait staff decended and asked about drink orders which felt a little like we were being rushed into ordering. Otherwise it was a great experience.

4.5 ⭐️ Oliver’s Cafe had a warm and inviting atmosphere. The cafe was clean with lots of outside seating. The service was friendly and super fast- our order came out in less than 10 minutes! We ordered the Zucchini Sweetcorn Fritters ($19) with a side of egg ($2.50), and the Eggs Benedict with Salmon ($21). The food was super tasty and fresh. Our coffees were well made too.
