Wonderful meal. Would definitely go back. Small and cosy. Some seating with stools and no backrest. The beer was super cold and the teriyaki unaqi was what we had been craving. The set meal had a good and fresh portion of salad leaves. The miso was warm and salty and went very well with the sweet teriyaki and kumara starter.
One of my favorite Japanese restaurants in town. The food is consistently delicious, the service is wonderful, and I always find myself wanting to come back!
Can’t describe with words other than excellent restaurant in Ponsonby central. Reasonable price with delicious food. Nice and warm service. “Must” try and returning place for friends gathering or family.
Good service, the waiter let us sit on a table for 4 after ai asked even though there were only my friend and I. The food was very tasty, my friend is a chef and he tried the salmon and said it was fresh caught. Nice and quiet environment, probably also because we got there after 3PM. Anyway, very nice eating experience.
I'm very disappointed in the grilled bento box. Bland meat and not worth the price. Usually, a bento box would have a combo of a few things. This box only had salad and bland meat. There is nothing special in the box that you can't cook at home. Could have done this at home if I'd known. Over $200 was spent for 4 people. Could have bought a lot of groceries for this amount. On a +ve, the service was good. Just need the chef to be a bit more creative with what they are serving customers.
The food was amazing! We got the dumplings and teriyaki chicken. We sat outside by the fire and it kept us nice and warm! I definitely recommend checking this place out.

Definitely worth a visit! The bento boxes are a great way to try lots of things and are the perfect amount to fill you up! The kumara was a little bland unfortunately. Lovely service.
The sashimi was somewhat fresh and delicious , but the blue water bento wasn't worth it. The customer service was unresponsive, slow , and inefficient . The staff continued to stroll past us after noticing empty dishes until we asked. Wouldn't recommend.
