“The food was delicious. I had hare and my wife had fillet steak. The service was great. Ryan and the other waiter were very helpful, attentive and polite - great service! This is our second time at this restaurant and we will be back again and have already recommended to friends.”
“We stayed in Rm 2 and Rm 6, the rooms are very clean, bed are very comfortable and the kitchen are very nice and clean. The location are close to everything park, restaurant, supermarket and mall. The host is friendly and vey good service. We will stay again and again... we found a good place to stay.. Thanks Roger..”
“A spontaneous stop on the way to Chartwell & my friend & I were glad we did. A cafe that is airy, clean & spacious..nothing over the top fancy, just simple, comfortable & peaceful. We shared: egg sandwiches, sausage roll & apple strudel. Well..the tastiest egg sandwich in a long time, & had to be the best strudel I've ever had..yum & only slightly heated perfectly. My friend enjoyed her coffee & I changed my mind at last moment from coffee to try an iced chocolate..it was delicious with good amount of chocolate..nice chocolate too. I will be back when on next trip from Whangarei to visit family..for sure. O..I also brought a macadamia toffee n chocolate cookie which I ate on travel home that evening! Yum. Lovely staff! Footnote: I wrote the above over 2 years ago..I still pop here every time I'm in Hamilton..their Ginger crunch is the best..but not to eat straight away-let it come to room temperature soo best to takeaway..I suggest. Haven't had macadamia toffee crunch for ages though..I just remembered about this treat after reading the review I first wrote.”
“Once again it was a lovely stay at Ulster motor lodge Very clean warm room The owner is a lovely lady friendly wonderful talking with My wife and i recommend staying here any time of the year”
“We had a great stay at Bella Vista Hamilton. The location is convenient and easy to find, and the experience was very much in line with what we’ve come to expect from other Bella Vista hotels — consistent, reliable, and well-presented. The room was clean and offered a good amount of space, with a comfortable bed that made for a restful night. Check-in and check-out were straightforward and hassle-free. We also appreciated that the hotel is wheelchair accessible, which adds to the overall ease of access and comfort. The hosts were warm and friendly, adding a personal touch to the stay. All in all, a solid choice for a short or longer visit to Hamilton.”
“Came with my sister, partner and BIL as a stop over for Hobbiton, and honestly loved staying here. The lady that runs the place was so incredibly kind and hospitable, the rooms were super spacious, clean and comfy, and we were so close to where we needed to be”
On the plate at The Riv Sports Bar, the idea is simple, bistro‑style and well judged. Music and pace keep a casual tone. Front‑of‑house runs with calm, helpful energy. Portions are generous yet well judged.
“This place is pretty much bang on perfect. Friendly service from the team, very comfy rooms and massive as swimming pool. My only gripe, is that wifi reception in the room is patchy. Did quite often drop out.”
“Had amazing quiet blissful stay at Cambrian Lodge Motel recently clean relaxing close to the town so will return beautiful hosts”
“Great Camp - Very Friendly. The Stream is Iconic New Zealand. Love it……”
“We were in a bit of a bind trying to find a venue for a surprise party for expecting parents, but Garth came to the rescue with a private room that led to a wonderful outdoor play area for kids, which was perfect for the occasion. Garth and his team were incredibly helpful, and the platters we ordered were absolutely delicious. Kudos to the team for making the event so memorable and special!”
“Spent 5 weeks there and was a very pleasant stay. Place has very positive vibe and feel more like a big campground with travellers from all over the world than classic hostel. Met great people here and made good memories. John, the owner, was always willing to help and provide advice, regardless time of the day. Always had variety of jobs to provide, found me one just few days after my arrival. If you are looking for something more than just accommodation this is the place you wanna stay.”
“Excellent motel and my new first choice of somewhere to stay in Dunedin. The room was clean, stylish and warm. It's a pleasant walk through a nature reserve to the city and the views from the neighbourhood are spectacular. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help. I would absolutely stay here again.”
“I had a stay for 5 weeks while having medical treatment. The wifi was great, I was able to work on my laptop easily. The rooms were clean, tidy and comfortable but the best part was the service. Nothing was a problem, Lee was very kind, caring and thoughtful, going above and beyond. The location is great and I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Thankyou Lee and team I appreciated your kindness ❤️”
At Golden Wok Takeaways, the menu stays classic fish-and-chips, served with an easygoing pace. Pricing lines up with the offer. Fried rice and classics arrive hot and even. Good value shows in the serve sizes.
“I had a great experience with this vet clinic! They took excellent care of my dog, Sandy. The staff was kind, professional, and clearly cared about her well-being. They explained everything clearly and made sure Sandy was comfortable throughout her visit. Highly recommend!”
“I can’t speak highly enough of the team at VSA Sylvia Park. My beloved cat Mac was only 3 1/2 but had an undiagnosed heart issue that caused an embolism. The team were incredible from the moment I rushed through the door. The receptionists were so kind - particularly Michael who is amazing at his job and went above and beyond. Mac was given urgent priority and rushed through for treatment. Bobbi our vet was so kind and compassionate to us, patiently explaining all options and not pressuring us. We felt very informed and though it broke our hearts to put Mac to sleep, we knew we were doing the right thing to end his suffering. Bobbi let me stay right to the end so I could comfort Mac, and even locked the door so we wouldn’t be disturbed. She is a true gem and I’ll never forget her kindness. I really appreciate that the team also organised paw prints, nose prints, and some of his fur in a bottle. Very special keepsakes. I never leave Google reviews but felt compelled to as I was blown away by the service. I know it must be such a tough job, so full credit to the team.”
“I felt a lot of racial bias during my check-in experience. We arrived early around 1pm (check-in was at 3pm), and I completely understand that early check-ins aren’t always possible. As a Platinum member, I had hoped for some flexibility but was told the rooms weren’t ready — fair enough. We went for lunch and returned around 2pm, and the rooms still weren’t ready. However, in the 30 minutes we waited in the lobby, I saw 5–8 other guests being checked in with no issue. When I asked the same front desk lady again if our rooms were ready, she simply said, “No, they’re not ready.” When I politely insisted that she check with the housekeeping team to see if at least one of our rooms was ready so we could freshen up, relax, and plan our afternoon, she finally checked and said, “Oh, one room is ready.” That experience was quite frustrating, especially because moments earlier she had made no effort to verify. What made it more upsetting was seeing a white couple walk in and book a room on the spot — the exact same category as one of mine (around NZD $370 per night) — and they were checked in immediately. I was told other guests had “different room categories,” but clearly that wasn’t the case. If that’s not discriminatory treatment, I don’t know what is. I paid for two rooms, valet parking, dinner, and plenty of drinks — the same or more than many other guests — yet was made to feel less valued. That said, I do want to acknowledge that the rest of the staff were absolutely wonderful. The valet parking lady was so friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant and bar teams were exceptional — genuinely warm, attentive, and kind. It’s just unfortunate that the check-in experience left such a negative impression, overshadowing what could have been an otherwise beautiful stay.”
“Beautiful home cooked food and also has a restaurant menu. Top country-side café that I've been to. Coming here very day while I'm working in Waitoki”
“Love this hotel. Located in the center of the city. Lovely clean room and a great breakfast. The staff are so helpful and always have a great smile. The valet car parking is great and you only have to wait for 5 minutes before it arrives at the front of the hotel. We will definitely be coming back next time we are in Auckland. Highly recommended to all.”
“15/09/25. Booked a four day stay and wasn’t happy with my initial room so I approached the team who gave me a much better room on a higher floor with a great view of the sky tower. Hotel is in a great CBD location, easy walking to the hospital where I was visiting relatives. Car parking though limited is easily accessible provided you don’t have a car that’s larger than a sedan. On site restaurant was okay. First time I’ve had room service served by a bot, so I couldn’t figure out how to open it to get my food. When I did manage to get it opened, the plates were placed on top of each other rather than on a tray - little bit disappointed. On top of that the advertised meal on the room service app via the TV was not what I was given. So I had to ring the restaurant again to get the remainder of my meal brought up. Breakfast was buffet style - okay choices and did not change on a day-to-day basis. The lady there every morning, who did the coffees was absolutely awesome - big thumbs up to her!! Room was lovely. Aircon was nice and strong and I thought the room size was okay given I am a large woman (size 18) and I managed to move around the room fairly easily. Bed was really comfortable. Would I recommend - overall yes I would!”
“It was such an awesome place to stay with plenty of room! Facilities are great, and so is the central location. Sky tower about 20 mtrs from here. Check in and check out were hassel free! Would definitely stay here again.”
“My preferred stay whenever I’m visiting Auckland. The rooms are always tidy, smells good, the beds and pillows are so comfy! In my experience, the staff are lovely, prompt and helpful. Great, convenient location to shops and the viaduct but still nice and quiet, love staying here and will always recommend this to family as they have also had positive experiences at the Travel Lodge. I believe the Travel Lodge upholds an excellent standard in terms of hospitality, service and quality. Compared to some of the other places we have visited and stayed at whilst in New Zealand, the travel lodge remains a favourite! Thank you again for a wonderful stay. My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our time.”
“Very good and warm hostel! I went there 3 times at different times during my road trip and everyone was always welcoming and everything was clean. The lady at the entrance was very kind and warm. Good location and good to have a computer access.”
“I stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Auckland. The hotel is in a pretty centralized area and very easy to walk around to restaurants. I stayed in a corner suite, which is more than enough for 1 person. The rooms look like they were recently renovated and was spacious and clean. Good selection of food during breakfast. My flight arrived very early 8am and my room wasn't ready but the hotel was very accommodating and gave me another room to rest up till my room was ready.”
“This hotel met every need perfectly! The room was nice, with a bathroom that was very space efficient. The breakfast buffet had many options, including a variety of dairy and non-dairy, milks, pastries, warm, basic continental food, and cereal! The rooms were quiet, and the location was superb. It was close to everything we wanted to do, including the waterfront, nightlife, local theater, and transportation! Ding dong is right across the street! And lots of grocery stores near by!”
“I don't have any bad thing to say about this hotel. Everything was perfect. 24-hour reception, close to the airport, free shuttle bus to the airport. The room was clean and well equipped - hairdryer, soaps and shampoos smelled great, big TV, balcony. I would also like to thank the lady at the reception. I overslept on the day of departure. My boyfriend called at the reception, she woke me up personally and the most amazing thing was that when I checked out the bus arrived at the airport and she ran after me with a bus ticket. I really felt that the staff cared about the guests. I can only recommend it.”
“Good location. From the airport, it is a 10 mins drive by car, or one can take either the Yellow Bus (Airport Hotels bus) or the Auckland local transport bus #38 to reach the hotel. Smooth check-in, good breakfast & cooperative staff as well.”
“My recent stay at the Sudima Auckland Airport was genuinely outstanding, turning what is often a routine airport stopover into a truly memorable experience. From the moment I checked in, the staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, and the hotel itself feels modern, welcoming, and perfectly designed for comfort. The room was spacious, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and it was the ideal calm environment for relaxing before or after a long flight. However, the real highlight of my visit—and the source of the most fun—was the fantastic robot delivery service! Ordering food right to my room and waiting to hear that distinctive little chime was a blast. When the door opened and the robot, completely autonomously, was waiting there with my meal, I couldn't stop smiling. It’s such a clever and novel way to receive room service, and it adds a playful, futuristic energy to the entire hotel experience. It was speedy, contact-free, and honestly just delightful to watch. If you’re looking for a top-tier airport hotel with excellent amenities, comfortable rooms, great food, and a unique, fun feature that will absolutely make your day, I can't recommend the Sudima Auckland Airport enough. I’ll definitely be staying here again!”
“Came up for a work conference which was also held at the hotel. Great room, felt spacious due to the layout! Very clean and tidy, and conveniently located near the shopping mall. I was also genuinely surprised at how quiet it was considering the nearby road/motorway - barely a whisper of any vehicles out there. Big shoutout to Will on the front desk (I hope I caught the right name). He was super welcoming, made check in quick and easy and had a great sense of humour! A well timed addition to my own joke got heaps of laughs from myself and my peers and really made me feel like this was a home away from home, even just for one night :)”
