Had a stink meal sorry guys... I paid $27 for thr vegetarian breakfast and it was tiny?! A handful of roasted kumara, red onion and spinach with a veggie pattie and that was it??? I was honestly shocked when I saw it... and even more upset reading the reviews of how great it's been. Not this time. $27???? Not good.
A spontaneous stop on the way to Chartwell & my friend & I were glad we did. A cafe that is airy, clean & spacious..nothing over the top fancy, just simple, comfortable & peaceful. We shared: egg sandwiches, sausage roll & apple strudel. Well..the tastiest egg sandwich in a long time, & had to be the best strudel I've ever had..yum & only slightly heated perfectly. My friend enjoyed her coffee & I changed my mind at last moment from coffee to try an iced chocolate..it was delicious with good amount of chocolate..nice chocolate too. I will be back when on next trip from Whangarei to visit family..for sure. O..I also brought a macadamia toffee n chocolate cookie which I ate on travel home that evening! Yum. Lovely staff! Footnote: I wrote the above over 2 years ago..I still pop here every time I'm in Hamilton..their Ginger crunch is the best..but not to eat straight away-let it come to room temperature soo best to takeaway..I suggest. Haven't had macadamia toffee crunch for ages though..I just remembered about this treat after reading the review I first wrote.
Only us in the Cafe and only 1 person serving, who also prepared coffee and cooked our meals. Lattes were "flat" with no body. Big breakfast was "minimal." e.g. One small mushroom. Omelette was adequate. Table had duct tape holding the side to the table. Service slow as the staff member had to serve other clients whilst preparing our meals. Below average experience for a $60 spend.
Nice local cafe with good coffee and decent food, just a little overpriced for the portion sizes. Clean and cozy atmosphere but could do with some music. Service was reasonable but could be more friendly and attentive. Fine for a coffee stop.

I love going to this cafe. Anne is so friendly and she & her hubby run a good operation. I love their flat white coffee and harissa eggs! Well done guys!
Great place to go to for a yummy meal and great service. The pancake stack was delicious and the yummiest/biggest hot chocolate ever.
Absolutely lovely staff. Nice sized portions. I had the Avo smash with a fejoa smoothie. Loved the bread and eggs. The smoothie was divine! Unfortunately I have to give four stars because the Avo I had was really bitter and the floor where I sat was covered in muffin remnants. The table was clean though thank goodness!
This was the BEST EVER vegetarian breakfast. Lots of extras such as kale chips, eggplant, baby carrots, broccoli, mushroom, capsicum etc with vege cake etc etc Delicious … a great healthy brunch. Good coffee … excellent size. Highly recommended!!
