   Stayed here with my wife after taking the Hobbiton tour. Very convenient location, we were able to check in beforehand without a problem, and a great value for what we needed. This was our last night in New Zealand, so we needed to repack and the room was plenty spacious to do so. Also worth noting; we were really only in Matamata because it was convenient for Hobbiton, but it was a lovely town in its own right. We ended up hanging out and visiting shops for the morning before heading to Auckland and thoroughly enjoyed it.

   This place is a gem! Fantastic place and an absolute treasure. Tucked just outside of the city centre and a stones throw from a petrol station. The rooms are spacious, the beds are clean and comfortable. One of the best beds I had while in NZ. The owner, Ms Maria is a fantastic and cheerful lady. Always there to answer your questions. You are sure to miss out if you didn't try here. Hobbiton is also about 16km from Matamata, making it the best place to stay if you are doing a visit.

   Budget conscious travelers will get their rewards by booking ahead, Accommodation was clean and tidy, supplied with everything and comfortable beds and spacious rooms. Central to town about 2min walk, the Hostess was very accommodating with timeframes that sometimes arise from long distance travel. Will stay again should I be within the district of matamata, it's not the HILTON but for the money you're saving you can't complain.
