   Horrible place to stay. One step up from a backpackers. Very pricey for what I got. Extremely noisy all night from road traffic and water pipes when other rooms were using water. Doors into kitchen and bathroom didn't close properly, had to use a towel to keep them closed. And the stench was horrible! Had a headache and nausea within a couple of hours from the horrible smell.

   Don't waste your time at this place many problems that you don't see from the outside but living there is a different story. New owners brought new less flexible rules meaning people can't stay for more then 2hrs or past 5pm. Got blamed for things that I hadnt even done and Would not recommend have lied about me to WINZ for owing money to them along with housing navigators Emerge Aoteroa causing me to be in debt of $951. Also didn't appreciate getting the door knocked on each day when housekeeping was not needed and advised them that we don't need it everyday but still come knocking at early hours of morning 8-9. Poor service too with new owners, barely had a understanding on how to run things or provide us with the things we needed.

   when moved in the room wasn't even up to the clean standard. Wifi wasn't as good as could be considering the price of the room. The walls were paper thin could hear the neighbours around doing things so do not recommend if you have children. when spoken too upon a room inspection i was told it was up to me to scrub the wall and pretty much bring the room back to standard when is that not there job. i give this place a 0 if it wasn't that i had to be there due to emergency housing i would not stay.

   The rooms that I saw here are cosy,snug and very well fitted,with self contained kitchen and bathroom/toilet. Television media is sky network and customer WiFi by password. Bealey ave is a well landscaped street offering tree lined views in either direction. Location is central enough to be 5 minutes from the cities inner city attractions and features yet also offer quaint romantic or leisurely strolls,riverside,parks or cemetery.

   Lyn and Kerry are amazing hosts! They went out of their way multiple times to assure we felt at home. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Christchurch. In addition, the price is unbelievably low for the quality and comfort Avalon Motel provides. The rooms are clean and decorated nicely and the amenities that are provided are essential for a pleasant away from home stay. I highly recommended! Thank you Lyn and Kerry for your hospitality!
