I came from Westport and stay there 2 times already. It's so easy to walk to the hospital. Easy carpark and Leo is the owner and his wife are so friendly. Nice room, good service. I will come back again next time. I am recommend 5 star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Location was good, parking was really convenient. Shower was dated, with a metal base? Was easy to find and affordable, Needs updating, but felt safe and had washing facilities available. No road noise as noted in other reviews, but could be down to our rooms location.
My husband and I stayed at the Gothic Heights Motel for our visit to Christchurch in November. It was in a great location, we could walk to the botanical gardens and some great restaurants, and were able to drive to downtown very easily. Our room was spacious, the kitchen was well equipped, and my husband used their laundry facilities to take care of all his laundry for the rest of our trip. The bathroom even had a hot air fan that could help dry clothing! At the end of our stay, I accidentally forgot a few items, but only noticed after we were already hours away. After I emailed the motel, the person I spoke with kindly went out of their way to mail my items to another location we would be staying at later. They even contacted the hotel to ensure they would hold items for me!! I am so grateful, and I would highly recommend this motel to anyone looking to stay in Christchurch!!! We will definitely stay here again!
Wonderful stay! Check in/out was simple. Rooms were very clean and beds were comfy. Really well priced for the room we got. Location was perfect. Saw a few reviews about road noise but we had absolutely no issue with road noise, motel is positioned towards Hagley Park and therefore surrounding buildings block the noise from Moorhouse Rd. Would absolutely stay here again!
Totally recommend the service received from the courteous owners of this motel. They were very understanding when we had to change the length of our stay due to a change in family hospital situation. Totally endorse using this motel for any stay especially close to Christchurch hospital. Rooms are very clean and all the services top quality. Lovely decor and very economical pricing for central area. Thank you for a very positive motel booking. Beautiful 10 minute walk through Hagley park to hospital.
Positive: Great location, linen changed daily. Negative: Rooms are 5 years past needing total revamp, mattress look and feel at least 10 plus years old. Very stained carpet, damaged furniture. No smoke alarm, lady in office reception locks door immediately when you leave and it stays locked questioning security of the place.
Location is great, very close to all amenities etc, not the cheapest accommodation, rooms are pretty good but they need to continue to upkeep & maintain.. the washing machine and dryer is an extra cost, tokens are $3 each per cycle, which is a little bit rough considering how much you pay for the room... Apart from that the room is lovely and warm, heat pump goes well, not a great TV though, they have sky Tv but it's only basic channels that you can pretty much get on freeview anyway which to me isn't worth it..
Health Board needs to reacess placing hospital patients in this motel. Hygiene standards are appalling and wouldn't stay there again. Definitely NOT RECOMMENDED patients
Dank smelling room. Beds uncomfortable. Curtains hanging of rail, cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired heat pump not working, shower dismal. Very unpleasant motel.
The Gothic Heights Motels are always spotless and all the staff friendly and helpful.. We have used these motels for sometime now and was relieved when able to get a booking once again. We also like the Queen size bed I had noticed quite a few motels only have double beds
