Appalled by the actions of this hotel. We had booked a non refundable rate and Agoda offers you the option to see if the hotel will accept your cancellation so due to health reasons we tried this. They declined and that was fine we understand that it was a non refundable rate after all. Time passed and I felt better enough to travel so we drove to Christchurch and turned up at the hotel only to find they said they’d cancelled our booking because we didn’t inform them we were still coming - they didn’t tell us they’d cancelled it or confirm with us we wanted to go ahead with the cancellation. Lady on the phone was extremely rude to my husband about this situation and another employee was extremely unhelpful. They said they’d cancelled but were booked up and so put us at another of their hotels down the street, which was filthy so we declined to stay there. After time with Agoda on the phone the hotel did not cancel the booking through Agoda so were in the wrong and did not notify us they’d cancelled the room so Agoda has refunded us which is great however the customer service from this hotel alone was enough to put me off ever trying to book again. Disgusting.

Would not recommend this business. Absolutely appalling customer service and no compassion for people. We had booked our stay months in advance and unfortunately had a death in the family and had to cancel our much needed break away. Intially I had requested to cancel and refund. This was ignored. I called them to see if we could transfer to a later date - endured 7 minutes of abuse on the phone on how it is not her problem. She said we did not provide proof or enough notice and its just an excuse, in which I offered to provide her a death certificate and she hung up on me. Definitely wouldn't even consider staying her in the future, she was absolutely nasty on the phone with her screaming and appalling language.

The bed was comfortable and the tv worked, that was about the only good thing here unfortunately. The room we booked was not the room we got, but the motel was fully booked that night no vacancies, so we got on with it. Shower pressure was bad and when the sink was used at the same time as someone was in the shower, the sink only gave out completely cold water. Some of the dishes in our room were not clean and parts of the room also weren’t clean. If you’re someone who struggles to sleep with any noises, don’t book here as the walls are paper thin we heard everything from the next room.

I just had a three night weekend in this motel, for events in the Town Hall and Court Theatre: it was great that I was within walking distance to both, with a couple of interesting restaurants on the way. There's a cafΓ© right next door (Affogato) which was more than acceptable for my morning coffee. Perhaps because my room faced the carpark, I never heard any road noise. The room itself was fine, plenty of space, surprisingly good for a place so cheap. Bed was comfortable, all appliances and wifi worked well, kitchenette was well stocked, everywhere was clean. I didn't expect (and don't like) a daily service, but they did change the towels once. My only interaction with staff was at check in - it was quick and cheerful.

Was clean and tidy, a few mistakes which we asked to correct and they did. But doors were locked an hour before they said they would be. Also when room was serviced we didn't get face cloths back or coffee, sugar etc. There was nothing to cook on, so had to go out every night for dinner. Over all we enjoyed our stay, but won't be staying again in near future

Great room away from home when family is in hospital. Staff are really friendly and full of information about surrounding areas. Bronnie is a real asset to the place! Room was clean and spacious, our son loved watching all the traffic go past. Highly recommend!

Great value hotel with a delightful host. We were lucky to find the Executive Suite available at short notice before New Year's Eve. The room had a very comfortable bed and everything we needed for a great stay - excellent shower, large kitchenette, TV, iron etc. Bronnie was extremely helpful and friendly, standing out even in a country of full lovely people. The only slight annoyance was the occasional loud vehicle speeding down the road outside but short of replacing the French windows to the balcony, there is not much Bronnie could do about that. I hope to stay again! Thank you.

Amazing value!! The rooms are incredibly clean and spacious and very well priced. Location is good, about a five minute drive from the city centre. The room had absolutely everything you could need, even a stove. Beds are very comfortable. Bronnie, our host, was a typical Kiwi - friendly, helpful and gave us a great experience. Highly highly recommended.
