   Booked thru WOTIF/EXPEDIA. arrive after long drive. Reception had gone AWAL. Finally arrived and explained that he had no booking. It was all paid for in advanced. He was happy that we were not abuse which he explained is a common occurance for him. Now there is no accomodation anywhere in christchurch......... Dont go to this place it is a total let down they dont know what they are doing. You will get stranded like me.

   I had an excellent stay at Pine lake view lodge in a Twin bed studio, room was very clean, beds were made to a high standard and sheets very clean and soft. I slept like a log!! Politeness and manners go a long way in the Mainland and the proprietor was equally friendly and welcoming considering I booked through a third party quite late the same night even after he'd closed the office. I'd most definitely stay here again!! Cheers for a most pleasant stay

   Moved back to NZ from Australia, was desperately seeking accommodation for my young family. I paid for my stay at the Pine View Lodge via Booking.com, but fortunately secured a rental instead. No longer needing a reservation, I cancelled it. A month passed and still no refund, Booking.com suggested I call The Lodge to investigate. On the phone I dealt with Wayne (Pine View Lodge employee). I didn't know who to believe, but certinally was not accusing anyone. Wayne verbally abused me, was more concerned about "paying his rates" than my situation, and told me "if I want any money from him, to take him to court." Booking.com were at fault, however, Wayne was incredibly rude and very unprofessional. If that's how he treats customers then I'm glad I didn't have the misfortune of staying here.

   Really disappointed. Beds comfortable but room not clean. Photos on website were nothing like the room we ended up with. Smelt of stale smoke.
