   Exceptional stay — luxury, comfort, and outstanding hosts! I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Silverstream Lodge for a week during a business trip, and I can’t speak highly enough of the experience. From the moment I arrived, Kathy and Grant were the perfect hosts — warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about making every guest feel at home. The room was pure luxury — beautifully appointed with high-end finishes, incredibly comfortable, and spotlessly clean. It felt more like a boutique hotel than a lodge, with thoughtful touches throughout that really elevated the stay. Breakfast each morning was a standout — fresh, delicious, and made with care. It was the perfect start to a busy workday, and something I genuinely looked forward to. If you’re looking for a peaceful, elegant place to stay with top-tier hospitality, Silverstream Lodge is it.    Kathy, Grant, and Gretel are such warm and inviting hosts that you'll forget you aren't home.... that is, if you have someone at home who prepares a delicious breakfast for you while you relax! The property is gorgeous, with a blend of English garden and natural, New Zealand landscape. The location is a great balance of proximity to shopping and attractions while maintaining a private, rural feel. Highly recommend!

   Stayed at the Silverstream Lodge last minute on our final night in New Zealand. Just a half hour drive to Christchurch airport, it's the perfect location if you are just arriving or departing. Countryside location it's beautiful and quiet. The entire place is so clean and beautifully decorated. The grounds are lovely and nice to walk around and stretch your legs. Coffee, tea and freshly baked ginger crisps awaited us on our room. Lovely to sit and relax on the patio. Kathy is so sweet and kind and made the stay extra special. The breakfast is amazing and everything is homemade and fresh. Couldn't recommend this place enough! So happy we chose this to be our departure from New Zealand .

   Cathy and Grant were fabulous hosts. They gave us space but they were sociable and gracious. Our cooked breakfasts were amazing and the room was clean, bed was comfortable, bathroom was spacious and the aesthetic was beautiful. The lodge is set on park-like grounds with a stream/river directly on the property. Loads of beautiful birds singing and flying around and a resident dog that was friendly as. This B&B exceeded our expectations.

   I visited the Silverstream Lodge with a friend from New Zealand. This lodge is like an oasis that seems unreal. The warm family feel and welcome from the owner Cathy makes your heart melt. The homemade cooking was most welcome from usual restaurant dining. The place is divine and hard to describe how lovely it looks. The dogs are especially friendly and contribute to that home feeling you have when staying. It is almost worth visiting as a tourist attraction rather than as a place for staying.
