Well appointed rooms, very friendly helpful staff. Close to the city. I thought there might be more road noise given its location but was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was, it was still there, but nothing overwhelming
we stayed here for around 5 days after one of our party was discharged from Christchurch hospital for them to rest as travel insurance orgonised our return to the UK. The two bedroom apparment we had was spacious and comfortable it included everything we needed for our stay from a TV and free WiFi, ironing board, toasters to cutlery and more besides. The motel is located just outside the city center, easy reached by multiple bus routes you can pick up close by. ( 5-10 mins walk) petrol garage convince store a couple of minutes walk away and several food options to. Apparments are were serviced daily. There is a guest laundry. As one the dryers was awaiting repair the lady who ran the motle very kindly and helpfully allowed us to use the business/private dryer. She also took time to help us orientate ourselves on local maps and answered our questions. she also helped us communicate with our airport transfer driver as we didn't have NZ Sims cards. I'd couldn't be more greatful for the service the people who run this motle gave us and recommend the motle thoroughly. .
Our stay at Country Glen Lodge in Christchurch was wonderful. Check-in was quick and friendly, making us feel welcome right away. The room was spotless, warm, and so comfortable — perfect after a long day of travel. We slept incredibly well and woke up refreshed. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Christchurch!
Perfect for what I need. One bedroom apartment has cooking facilities, lazyboy chairs, a good size TV with Sky. Comfortable Bed & great shower pressure. would definitely stay again
My daughter & i stayed one night in this motel one night ago, it was right on the roadside & very noisy, we arrived after a 6hr drive because our flight was cancelled, the location was great because i had to have a petscan at Pacific Radiology which is practically next door. On looking around our room we noticed the lounge carpet was threadbare, the bedroom looked pleasant but on closer inspection there were spiders on the ceiling, one in a web on the top of the wall & two others. I hate spiders, there was heaps of dust & cobwebs behind the bedside cabinets. The toilet was so low & because i have arthritic knees i couldnt sit on it, my daughter is very fit & it hurt her knees to get off the toilet. I rang the manager for fly spray & told him about the toilet, he said he had no more rooms to swap us to, then told me the toilet was for children, & also said i was the only person to complain ever, & he didnt care about my predicament & then said, ' dont ever come back' he was rude & obnoxious. The room cost $150, way to expensive for the state of it. It was very shabby & outdated. We will never go back.
Shabby. Needs updating badly. Boy racers booming past on the main road. VERY noisy. We were in the worst room right on the road. The compendium with eateries etc is out of date. Unless you have a car, or are happy to use Uber ( which I am not) there is no where near to get food. Kitchen is basic. Bathroom needs an overhaul. Carpet was so threadbare that the chip floor was visible and thd mat covering it is a trip hazard. I know because I nearly caught my boot in it. The sofa is old and stained. There was one thing I liked, there was an electric blanket, so at least I was warm. This is definitely NOT 4 star.
Very clean large room good location. Owner let us inspect the room before paying which was great as have been disappointed in the past.
This is a great place to stay. Warm, Clean, modern, sunny, great location. Comfortable. Definitely a good place to stay.
