An affordable hotel with everything you need after a long drive. It’s a quiet, cosy place with lovely owners. The rooms and bathrooms are tidy and well-kept. It’s the cleanest (and cheapest!) hotel I’ve stayed at in New Zealand. And the breakfast included in the price is fantastic. Highly recommended!

This place is one to stay at! The owners/managers are very kind and accommodating. The house has a history and the walls have painting in every room. Vintage styles! Breaky is super cute in the mornings, reminds me of my childhood staying at my grandparents.
Lovely room, great dining area, lots of beautiful artwork, and nice hosts. Smallest sink ever in the room like so many other places in NZ. Nice shower though.
Absolutely lovely! Charming place, I could have spent hours looking at all the interesting furniture/art around the house. The owners were very sweet, we really enjoyed meeting them. The street was quiet and we had no trouble sleeping, and my bed was sooo comfortable and cozy. An easy walk to the ocean. I wish I could have stayed longer, and will definitely return if ever in Christchurch.
Great place to stay! Well priced, very clean and comfortable rooms with lovely communal areas, even a kitchen you can use. Heaps of off street parking and a very hospitable host, highly recommend! Good value for money.
Comfortable beds, clean rooms, nice owners, as well as really interesting interior and history of this place. There is convenient parking, and the continental breakfast is okay (coffee / tea / orange juice with cereal / jam / toast / butter and fruits)
Great location. We really loved the character of the lodge. Easy to get in and out of the city. The lady-staff was wonderful. The lodge is well maintained. The beds were very firm, too firm for my liking. The breakfast was good. Will see you soon Thxs
We had amazing stay at The Pier Lodge. The beds were comfortable and we had our own shower toliet which were very clean. Excellent parking. Breakfast was included in the lovely dining room. The Pier Lodge is in walking distance to the wonderful beach that we walked each morning with the new hot pools that look over the beach. Amazing place to stay I know where we will be staying next time we are down in Christchurch. Thank you Val for everything. From Maggie and Heather.
