“Highly recommend the grilled meats here, especially the beef — perfectly cooked and super juicy! I’d suggest going for medium rare for the best flavor. Their signature Kika sauce is also amazing and goes perfectly with the meat. Definitely a must-try spot!”

“Authentic Italian on the beachside. I’ve come here twice now to try the pizza, and it’s always been good. They have some vegan options however they are not labeled very well on the menu so you will have to ask. Portion size for the vegan pizza was average, but the other food look well well portioned. Lovely staff and a great venue, excellent date location.”

“Beautiful restaurant, the smell of charcoal and the Spanish music makes you feel like you’re in South America. Food is amazing. The beef short ribs just melted in your month, juicy and tender. Fish had good portion and the sauce was lovely. Fried breads were hot and chewy, the tangy sauce was a great accompaniment. We ordered cabbage and broccolini as sides. Both were delicious and worked well with the main dishes. The only dish that wasn’t my cup of tea was the dessert, the burnt merengue was rich, sweet and too creamy. I felt like it lacked other textures. But overall, loved our first visit and would definitely go back to try other dishes.”

“Our first time here and we were very pleased with the ambience, food, staff and prices. The place filled up quickly with customers, but it didn't slow down the dishing out of food. The owner was walking around talking to the patrons and the wait staff were quick in attending to tables and bringing out orders. It was very very windy and cold outside, but with the windows closed and the heat pumps on, it very pleasant inside. Will definitely visit again, but maybe in summer when the weather permits us to sit outside and enjoy the beach!”

“We did the pasta making class tonight and it was incredible!! Eloise, Luke and Jess looked after us so well the whole night, they were super personable and knowledgeable. It was heaps of fun and amazing value for money. We got so much food and two cocktails, plus our homemade pasta to take home all covered in our class cost. Highly recommend to anyone who wants a fun date or girls night!!”

“We've been here twice in the last month, and had a great meal each time. The new owners are really friendly and nice, and the bar has a nice coast atmoshere. On the Halloween night they had a dress up session with prizes, and Nelly was perfect as an Angel. The food is all great. I highly recommend the pizzas and the steak. Both are excellent. If I had to make one improvement suggestion, it would be to perhaps get a a wider range of craft beers. But generally this is a great place that I highly recommend.”

“Gorgeous restaurant with fantastic mood lighting. Service was impeccable from the initial welcome to the food servers. Food – oh my yummy! We had tomatoes and ceviche for starters, then rib eye and ribs for mains with cauliflower for sides. Every dish was delicious and good size! Super enjoyable!”

“First time visiting this restaurant tucked away in Takapuna. Glad I had my local son with me to guide me to parking and then the restaurant. Our waitress was wonderful. We started with chicken skewers and the pork belly. Both delicious. Mains were a t-bone steak and costillas (beef short ribs). Portions are generous and came with a side and a sauce. Everything was cooked to perfection and delicious. So much food we had to ask for containers to take food home. Our waitress brought us separate containers for the salads so they didn't wilt. She also provided tongs to pick the salad up. Just felt she went the extra mile for us. Highly recommend although someone told me earlier in the day it was expensive. This carnivore mum was delighted with the meal and thought excellent value for money.”

“Was actually looking for other options but was recommended by one of the staff at one of the wineries. What turned up is in fact one of the best meal we had in this trip. The smoked chicken is one of the best I have eaten given the juiciness of the breast meat , the brisket literally melts in the mouth. Usually not a fan of pulled pork as it is either too tough to chew or that too much seasoning in it . What we liked is in fact it is not too flavorful yet enough seasoning to make it delicious .”

“I was here Friday 19 April with a group of 12 from West Wave. The food was fantastic. I had the best pizza in about 20 years! Also a great atmosphere and lovely staff. I forgot to take the photo of the ice-cream after I had eaten ⅔ of it already.”

“I was looking for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. I don't normally try new restaurants as I'm scared of being disappointed. But I decided to take a chance on this spot and I don't regret it at all. I chose the pork belly on rice and it was beautiful. The pork was juicy. Just the right ratio of fat to meat. The cracking crispy and seasoned to perfection. And the portion size was great for the price point. A little sticky sweet sauce on the side would have taken this meal from great to "God tier status". I'm definatley coming back.”

The service was some of the best I’ve experienced in a long time - attentive without being overbearing, and the staff made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. The atmosphere was also a standout. It had a great vibe, plenty of space, and a comfortable layout with good distance between tables, which is something we really value when choosing where to dine. The only downside for me was the braised pork. It was a bit on the chewy side and didn’t fall apart the way I’ve had it at other places, so it didn’t quite meet the standard of the rest of the meal. Other than that small issue, everything else was excellent. The overall experience was great, and I’ll definitely be returning.”
