Red Earth Bistro has such wonderful choices of food to choose from on their menu. All staff are friendly and courteous. Makes your time at the restaurant feel so relaxing and enjoyable. We always look forward to returning again for another night out with friends or family. Thank you all so much.
Wow. The food was incredible. Best gluten free bread I have ever had. Very disappointed that it was homemade so I can’t buy it for everyday eating. The brisket was delicious and the lamb and chorizo too.
I appreciate the hospitality and food. Very well mannered staff and Host They accomodated us nicely and made our fine dining experience great. The food was really filling , tasty and fresh. Desert was good, but maybe not for my parents taste pallet. I recommend all vegetarian options, Kids menu very well presented and prepared. For us it was a good family time. Will visit again with same expectations.
Red Earth Restaurant on the main street of Papakura is truly a hidden gem. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting — the perfect setting for a romantic date night or a special evening out. We began our meal with the Seafood Chowder and the Firecracker Prawns. Both starters were absolutely delicious — the chowder was rich and comforting, while the prawns delivered the perfect balance of spice and flavor. For our main, we chose the Hanging Lamb, served with fries and a garlic roasted red wine sauce — simply divine. The meat was tender and packed with flavor, and the sauce elevated the dish beautifully. And then came the showstopper — Sticky Date Pudding with Ice Cream. The presentation was stunning, and the taste... unbelievably good. It was the perfect sweet ending to an unforgettable meal. A big shoutout and heartfelt thanks to Naummu, Shiva, Janaiya, and Bella — each of them made us feel incredibly welcome and provided outstanding service throughout the evening. Highly recommended — if I could give more than five stars, I absolutely would. Compliments to the chefs and the entire team at Red Earth. When we arrived the door was shut, we thought it was closed but we tried the door anyway and it opened. We thought it was a bit odd at first, having the door shut, but once the door closed behind us it instantly felt like we were somewhere else entirely. It definitely helped with the atmosphere, having the door closed to the main road. Very peaceful. We didn't have a reservation, we arrived closer to 2030hr and were seated immediately. The service from the staff was welcoming and friendly. The food came out quickly but didn't feel rushed. The portions were good, not too big not too small. One of the hosts also made a recommendation for a side dish to go along with our mains, this was much appreciated. The layout is spacious and it doesn't feel like we were sitting in on other groups'conversation. Will be back again
Enjoyed the service, friendly restaurant owner, easy and polite, answered our questions about the restaurant, and history. Food was served in good time, the chef has talent, and the food was from local resources is a plus. We are definitely coming back for more..
Affordable fine dining. Customer service was very good, ambience was pleasant. A family owned business apparently. The food tastes good and portions are generous. They are child-friendly and have a kids menu, as well as a sheet with activities to keep the younger children occupied. Would definitely visit again for a special occasion.
I came to this restaurant for the first time the service here was amazing the waiters were lovely to both me and family including my 1 year old daughter. The food was fantastic and very delicious it was full of flavours I've never had before I definitely would try the food again. The atmosphere was a bit to much for my liking it was good but it reminded me of old school vibes I would very recommend this restaurant for old school date nights
