“I was told this place had THE BEST butter chicken. I was dubious, but curious so I tried it and I can confidently say that YES, indeed it DOES have the best butter chicken. Also if you like Naan bread but don't like how stodgy it can be, order the butter Nann, so soft, so delicious.”

“I enjoy fine dining, but cannot say I am a "foodie" with a fully calibrated palate. That said, I was taken back by how masterful each dish was - aesthetically pleasing, full of flavor, and unique. This was an experience, one of the best meals I've had in all of my travels. I did not have a reservation, dined solo, and had a seat at the bar with no wait. Despite the bar setting, the atmosphere felt private and the service was exemplary. I highly recommend the Crudo. I followed the servers suggestion here, and was thankful I did so.”

“Worked in New Lynn almost 3 years and decided to finally check this place out. Low expectation I had. The food was excellent and i have eaten more than my fair share of Cantonese Chinese food. The lunch time noodle soup with beef brisket was as good as any I've had.”

“Every time I go to Auckland, I make sure to visit Windross House. I’m always greeted with a smile and the service is fantastic. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. My favourites dishes are the classic mango chicken and garlic Prawns for entree. It’s a must visit when in Auckland!!”

“Good authentic Spanish food. We enjoyed the rich flavours in the Squid dish - main sized. Really good - recommended! The paella was rich and delicious, full of seafood and great flavours. Large serve. Good garlic and cheese bread pizza. Leafy salad with olives and feta good too! Cheap drink 3pm - 6pm 8$ wines and beers Enjoyed the Seaview from a table near the front of the restaurant. Only downside was the tables are very close - so the conversation of you and your neighbours are not private…”

“Delicious food, generous portion and a very very kind and sincere owner who serves with care, ensuring patrons are comfortable and relaxed in the restaurant. Had dinner there in June 2025 and for 1 hr, I watch the numerous customers who dined in or took out. Service is prompt and considerate. No wonder there were so many customers. Owner even recommended tourist spots and tips for good photos. Service left a lasting impression, hence I had to leave a positive note though was so busy after my last visit as a tourist to Pukekohe. Highly recommended!”

“My daughter and I had a wonderful lunch, little miss 5.5 was not only all smiles but very well looked after including sneaky chocolate delivery from the lovely Emilie who expertly serviced our needs. Attentive, friendly and anticipating our every need, this girl needs a bar tab from the owners or at the very least a juicy slab of meat loaded with truffle butter!! A true pleasure of an experience with delightful food, service and even better views!”

“We will definitely be back! Cold beer and delicious food. The food was so good - Chicken Teriyaki, Chicken Katsu, Fish Katsu, Vegetable Tempura. Loved that the mains came with Miso. Very reasonably priced plus BYO (which is so rare these days). The only negative was the restrooms could do with a bit of a refresh, but you go for the food, not the loos!”

“Celebrated my son’s 11th birthday there with a large group. Everyone loved their food and the staff went to so much effort to make our evening perfect. Service was 5 star and the food was delicious. Had sizzling beef sirloin, pad Thai, red duck curry, tom yum soup and satay chicken - everything was delicious! It was BYO and we took our own cake. The brought the cake out with ice cream! So lovely and so reasonable. Thank you”

“This is probably one of my go-to Italian spots in NewMarket. The staff are incredibly friendly and super helpful at recommending dishes to try. The food is always super fresh and flavoursome, and the great atmosphere really adds to the overall experience. The price point is average for the city, but with the quality of the ingredients I would definately say it's good value for money.”

“We went for lunch & it was a delicious experience! The restaurant was light & inviting- the new renovations looked very good. I ordered the mango lassi & the spices in the drink was great! I really enjoyed the theatrics of the mix platter starter too, it came out on a sizzling plate & tasted delish. The stand out dish for me was the chicken korma, the nutty cashew sauce was amazing! Highly recommend. The naan were also very fresh. Will definitely be back again to try other dishes!!! ☺️”

The staff were lovely and everything tasted INCREDIBLE! The Moneybags were the best we've ever had. “I came here for dinner and the food was delicious. For my main, I had the Tom Yum Soup with prawns. The soup was so flavourful and aromatic with an appropriate level of spiciness. The service was also quite good. The restaurant is a bit small so it can get a bit crowded and loud.”

“What an amazing gem with excellent service and amazing food. The food was authentic and fresh and very well prepared and presented. There is street parking and even thought the restaurant is compact it can cater for heaps. You don’t need to book and can just walk in. Take away is also available but Its nice to sit down and soak in the vibe.”

The service was some of the best I’ve experienced in a long time - attentive without being overbearing, and the staff made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. The atmosphere was also a standout. It had a great vibe, plenty of space, and a comfortable layout with good distance between tables, which is something we really value when choosing where to dine. The only downside for me was the braised pork. It was a bit on the chewy side and didn’t fall apart the way I’ve had it at other places, so it didn’t quite meet the standard of the rest of the meal. Other than that small issue, everything else was excellent. The overall experience was great, and I’ll definitely be returning.”
