Came to Cookes for a nice girls night dinner and it was incredible, every mouthful was so flavourful, highly recommend the scallop entree! Rachara and Arber were absolutely wonderful!

The food was great! Good selection from the main menu for kids over 10 years old as well if they dont like the usual kids menu. My kids loved the fried chicken and the ice cream sundae was an absolute treat.....quite bougie selection of ice-cream, was divine! Staff were friendly, special mention to our maître d - Sam who was very hospitable, polite and excellent customer service. The ambiance was lovely, highly recommend for a family meal, with friends or even a date night, you will not be disappointed. I am a very happy customer and will return, would like to try their high-tea next.

Very comfortable seating. The entrees were very good, but the main courses were a bit disappointing. I ordered the medium rare scotch fillet, the meat came as promised, but still it was way too chewy than it should have been.

Cooke’s is located right on Queen Street, in the heart of Auckland’s vibrant CBD. The space offers a blend of vintage charm and modern elegance, making it a lovely spot to unwind. I visited with a friend on a busy Friday afternoon for High Tea, and the service was warm and attentive. The High Tea was beautifully presented with great attention to detail—everything you’d expect from a traditional experience. The selection was petite, offering just enough for a light afternoon treat. Each sweet and savoury item was artfully arranged, and there was a nice variety of teas options to choose from. We also appreciated how accommodating they were with dietary needs. While the savoury bites were excellent, many of the sweets were overly sugary for my personal taste—slightly adjusting the recipes could bring better balance. Also, though the tea was served in an elegant teapot, it cooled far too quickly. A more practical teapot would definitely improve the experience—cold tea during High Tea is a bit of a letdown. That said, I’d still recommend Cooke’s High Tea for its beautiful setting and attentive service. With a few small tweaks, it has the potential to be even more enjoyable.

We were given a grab one dining experience from a family friend. I was pleasantly surprised how good the setting food and Service was. There were two of us dining and we had a selection of different items off the menu. All of these were of high standard and the accompanying queen of spirits cocktail was excellent. I would highly recommend when we will be back.

Food was on average pretty poor. Gnocchi was gluggy, chicken roulade was under seasoned and bland and the deserts were terrible. The panna cotta was so dense it was like a hockey puck served with hard rice crackle better reserved for a children’s birthday party. A mille-feuille is not a scoop of ice cream and a couple of small disks of flavourless pastry. Table water was charged at $12 a bottle. No tap water option was offered. Service was lacklustre. Don’t waste your money.

Quiet with a delightful old world charm. Food was well prepared and presented. The staff were very attentive. The complimentary bread was appreciated.

Great Ambiance. The food was good but not great. The Raviolo was bit thick. Cocktails were not strong enough, seems to be diluted and felt like a mocktail. Service was poor, had to call multiple times and asked for a suggestion nobody attended for nearly 15 mins. Only 2 tables were there but not sure why that happend. Also the cocktails were supposed to be concocted live at the table but it was already mixed and served. Bit of disappointment with the service.

The food here is okay, went for the high tea and was a little disappointed in the flavours. There was a sandwich with way too much cream cheese. It was so filling I could barely eat anything after. I'm a big fan of cream cheese and this was over the top even for me. I regret eating as much of it as I did. The tea itself was fine, I enjoyed the crumbed lamb ball and the macaron. Unfortunately when we went (1pm) it was rather empty and there were several flies and mozzies gunning for our food. It was off-putting as we were non-stop trying to swat them away but they would still land on our food/cups. The server was understanding and offered to replace my dessert where a stubborn mozzie was stuck. Overall I felt it was a bit overpriced and doubt I'll come back here.
