“I bought 2 cute little fish from here. Good deal. And I bought some treats for my cats. Heaps of selection of aquarium fish and pet foods. Heaps of stuff special. Customer service was very nice. The guy explained to me how to look after my fish's and fish tank. We will be back.”
“Some awesome, and very easy to use pet cleaning stations! My Golden Retriever is extremely anxious in most public situations but after a few minutes in the warm water alongside a shampoo and conditioner rinse, she had calmed down. My only criticism is that the doggy hair dryers aren't world class, but still do the job!”
“They have got such a big selection, I am an almost exclusive customer of theirs, they have got almost everything, and if they don't have something they are always happy to talk about getting it in truly ASAP. The store is great. They are great, I have been a regular "pet.co.nz" customer since 2018, and they were great, but since they have merged with Petstock the service has been even better, from replacing faulty items right away, to amazingly fast shipping! I was blown away my last purchase, I live in a rural area, and usually would get my order 3 days later at best, which is understandable, but this time I ordered my large breed puppy's special food like usual, in the afternoon, and the next early morning it was here!! Truly amazing!”
“Amazing prompt and skilled and caring attention for desexing of our kittens! Thank you!”
“Came in with my little pup Harley and one of the team, Isabelle, despite being on her day off went out of her way to make a fuss and cuddle her. If that wasn't enough she then recognized her again 3 days later and when I visited the store without her a few days after that she remembered her name and asked about her. This was a huge contrast to animates who didn't even look at her or acknowledge her. Customer for life here. Thanks! With love from Harley”
“Woolworths Waiata Shores in Takanini is one of the most impressive and forward-thinking supermarkets in South Auckland. It’s not just a place to shop—it’s part of a larger, eco-conscious development that blends sustainability with everyday convenience. From the moment you walk in, you’ll notice how clean, tidy, and well-organized the store is. The wide aisles, modern fixtures, and inviting layout make for a calm and enjoyable shopping experience. Shoppers often praise the helpful and friendly staff, as well as thoughtful touches like kid-sized trolleys, which make it easier for families to bring their little ones along. What really sets this Woolworths apart, however, is its commitment to sustainability. It holds the distinction of being Auckland’s first supermarket to receive Green Star accreditation, which reflects its environmentally responsible design. The building is fitted with solar panels that generate a portion of its power, along with advanced refrigeration systems that use natural refrigerants. Energy-saving LED lights, water-efficient taps, and even digital shelf labels all contribute to a greener operation. The store also offers EV charging stations and bike parking, making it easier for customers to choose sustainable transport options. In terms of product range, the store has everything you’d expect and more—from fresh produce and a well-stocked bakery to an in-store pharmacy and online order pickup services. It’s strategically located at the entrance of the Waiata Shores development, which is a thoughtfully planned community with parks, walkways, and cafes, creating a welcoming neighborhood hub for locals. Overall, Woolworths Waiata Shores is a great example of how supermarkets can combine excellent service, cleanliness, and convenience with serious environmental efforts. Whether you’re doing your weekly grocery run or picking up a few essentials, this store makes the experience smooth, pleasant, and sustainable.”
“I went to countdown ponsonby deli and I must say I had an amazing experience. Well done Lucky, for serving your customers so well!! I asked for a special request for the sandwich and he was very kind and patient with how I wanted my food, he was working alone in deli, shame on the management for making the poor guy work all alone in deli, having to handle the kitchen but also the customers, well done lucky keep it up! Enjoyed my food a lot❣️”
“Woolworths always delivers! The store is consistently clean, well-stocked, and easy to navigate. It makes the weekly shop feel just that bit more pleasant. Friendly staff and fresh produce—can’t ask for more!”
“This is a great Pharmacy with excellent service. Everyone at this Pharmacy is very caring, welcoming and genuinely concerned about its patients health. I have been always treated with respect. I find all staff very friendly and caring. There is no prescription fee and the medicines can be delivered home if you make arrangements with them. I will recommend this Pharmacy to any one.”
“Everything you need at Woolworths, handy to stop in when ya forget your toothbrush when travelling!”
“Good place to shop. Good range of items . Friendly staff nice wide aisles. No lotto.”
“Countdown is great for its wide, clutter free isles, the comprehensive refrigerated fruit and vegetable selection, and the extensive range of products in every department. I especially appreciate being able to buy pin-boned salmon fillets.”
“Best countdown ive been too! Always clean and filled with many different varieties of groceries no matter what time you go. I love that theyre open till 11pm, me and my husband love going for a midnight munchies run.”
“My favorite Woolworths in the west. Not too big but still carries a great range. Love that the store is always fully stocked in the morning including the bakery. Staff are friendly and helpful and parking is never an issue”
“Very big super store, you can buy things here easily, very well organized.”
“I love popping in to the Countdown after work. So convenient, well stocked with all our grocery needs. I have 3 sons living at home and my hubby so I'm always topping up on meat here. The meat is pretty affordable. We grab a big bag of sausages that splits into 2 meals for us. Chicken tenders, fish, chicken nuggets and chips, burgers, pizza, dumplings, spaghetti bolognaise or lasagna are all on our menu and easily available here.”
“Nice modern Countown store with clean and well maintained facilities. Easy access from two roads to the large carpark. Do note that shopping bags are no longer provided so bring your own or purchase the ecobags instore for future reuse. The store has a wide selection of everyday necessities along with the liquor, fresh fruit, deli etc. Staff were helpful and polite. Self service is provided but Card Only.”
“This is not my usual supermarket but I went there specially because this was the only supermarket I came across that stocked "Kindness shampoo" for delicates and woollens that smells nice and has the wool logo. This was recommended to me.”
“Clean and well‑stocked, it offers a wide variety of pantry essentials including organic and bulk food. Helpful staff and fast checkout options. Located on Level 3 of Westfield Mall, it offers free parking for 3 hours if you register your Car number plate in the Westfield app. It's slightly tricky to find inside the mall, but it's worth the visit!”
“was served quickly, although there was a few pushy customers when it came to queuing up but cashier was kind. stock was plentiful and good deals going at the time. aisles are wide which is very convenient for shoppers passing by. overall a nice experience for first time visit”
“Happy shopping, the number of staff stocking shelves blocking aisles, and on line shopping staff doing the same, is getting out of hand, a lot of shoppers complaining about the same thing. My guess a management problem.”
“Very good, pity we have to go back into the past. Like Woolworths is a past event. Not sure if it will work for me”
“Woolworths in Hobsonville is always spotless and inviting. We love shopping there because the store is incredibly clean, the fruits are always fresh, and the baked goods are deliciously fresh. It’s truly a delightful shopping experience every time”
“I love this Woolworths. Nice and big. Friendly staff. It is a very nice experience. My neighbor told me that she goes here. She perfers the Takapuna Woolworths to the Highbury or Northcote one. So do I.”
“Free parking onsite - in the CBD and walking distance to Waitemata and various bus stops- with a lift, stairs and ramp mobility access is assured to get to the grocery level. Convenient hours to support most shoppers. Wide range of produce/products covering some international brands beyond Aotearoa/Australia. Prices vary compared to other stores at other locations, check carefully before placing in your trolley. Both self service check out counters and a few serviced check out lines available. Weekends appear busier than usual - but that doesn't really detract from shopping, with loads of trolleys and baskets available at the entrance. Happy shopping!”
“Used to be great but now it's gone!”
“The place where I live is called Lynfield. In Lynfield, this Woolworth shop is definitely my go-to grocery store. Whenever I need to buy fresh produce or other stuff for cooking and also snacks, I always head to this supermarket. It's big, tidy and clean. Shopping in here is always a comfort. I love this shop. Today I bought Kumara, it was on sale. They were all in good quality.”
“Standard Countdown store. A little more expensive than Pak n Sav but conveniently located and plenty of parking. The APP is great, type into the List what you want and select the store you're in and it'll tell you which aisle your products are in.”
“Unbeatable supermarket, its location is the best - close to Auckland Airport and next to iBis hotel. This openly late night place offers you a wide range of both local and imported products., as well as fresh fruits, vegetables, and natural items. I, myself, bought a bunch of chocolate and some snacks as souvenirs home. Payment is through cash or credit card, self-service or by cashier assistance. A lot of parking space in front. Have fun shopping at Countdown!”
