   Stopped into this supermarket after an international flight with my wife, infant, and 4-year-old, and it was genuinely one of the worst supermarket experiences we’ve had. The trolleys were absolutely filthy, so bad we couldn’t even put our infant in the seat. The fruit and veg section wasn’t much better, with squashed fruit smeared across the floor and no staff making any effort to clean it up. After getting through a fairly large shop, we went to pay only to be told no checkouts were open and that we had to use self-service. Trying to juggle a baby, a tired child and a full trolley while scanning everything and balancing items on the scale was completely impractical. It honestly felt like customer service wasn’t even a consideration. A really poor experience overall, especially for a supermarket located next to an airport where you’d expect higher standards. Will not return.

   I was at self checkout buying water bottles when I entered one item incorrectly, I asked for assistance from person name Shamjunisha to remove that one particular item but she removed all the items and then asked us did you guys wanted to remove one item only? How stupid was that? We told her that we clearly wanted one item removed,but she just ignored it. She looked sick so I asked her is she wants some water, on which she got really rude and offensive asking me what do mean-what do you mean , I said I’m asking you politely if she wants some water & she replied she couldn’t understand me. Well I would suggest the store to get someone active, respectful in the front of store. Specifically pointing out - someone who understands English clearly.

   July 2023 A very pleasant shop to do you weekly shop or to pick up a few things on the aay home. It is a clean shop and has pleasant staff. I would shop here if the need arose again.

   This countdown used to be my choice for weekly groceries but since covid has struggled to keep the shelves well stocked. I often go in and it hasn't everything I need or the shelves are depleted. I shop elsewhere now but go in occasionally for milk or bread etc.

   Unbeatable supermarket, its location is the best - close to Auckland Airport and next to iBis hotel. This openly late night place offers you a wide range of both local and imported products., as well as fresh fruits, vegetables, and natural items. I, myself, bought a bunch of chocolate and some snacks as souvenirs home. Payment is through cash or credit card, self-service or by cashier assistance. A lot of parking space in front. Have fun shopping at Countdown!
