“While no one wants to be in hospital, but if you have to go in this is the place you want to be. As good as a private hospital. Nurses are the kindest I’ve experienced in any hospital, everything is nice and clean. Everyone was extremely friendly, professional and helpful and I’m sure this aids in a faster recovery. Unfortunately at most hospitals parking is extremely expensive but thankfully here parking is still free (just as it should be). Thank you so much to Dr Doug Barclay and all of the staff at the hospital for your care and for looking after me.”

“I can’t speak highly enough of Dr. Nina Vasan and the team at Kidz-Teeth. My son has just aged-out of this first rate pediatric dental service after over a decade of care and we are very sad to have to say goodbye. My son is on the Autism spectrum and came to Dr. Vasan after some early dental trauma. Within a few visits he was RUNNING from the car up to see Dr. Vasan each time we arrived. I’ll repeat that: A child running to see his dentist!!! The level of care and professionalism we experienced at Kidz-Teeth was exceptional. I would recommend them without hesitation to any parent, but especially to those who have children with developmental issues.”

I continued with the checkups too. All the nurses and vets I met there were wonderful - very friendly, understanding, answering all my questions, polite and knowledgeable. “We've had the absolute best experience with VSA. Had to bring in our dog twice for a suspected slipped disc, and ended up leaving him there the second time for IV fluids. He had a CT scan first thing in the morning; unfortunately he needed two spinal surgeries so he had to wait until the day after for proper planning, otherwise it would have been done straight after CT Scan while still under anaesthesia. We live far away so couldn't come for the scan results, but the surgeon took the time to show us the scans via a video call and made sure we understood what was happening and what needed to be done. They sent us frequent updates and were always highly professional. The surgery went extremely well and we were able to visit him the day after surgery. Thanks to their great care and our boys bravery and resilience, we were able to take our baby home just three days later. That whole event was really scary and exhausting for us, but we felt very supported and can honestly highly recommend them. 2x emergency visits, 4 nights stay, CT Scan, double surgery and meds was around 12k in total which is a lot, but we knew he had the highest quality care and that is definitely worth it for us. A huge thank you to the entire team who helped us - and most importantly, our good boy - get through this.”

“Nobody wants to go to a hospital at all, let alone for a surgical procedure, right? I've had to be panel-beaten from time to time and that's ranged across private and public care systems. Without any exception, the best care I ever got was at Ormiston. Why? Lots of reasons, but here's a few: Yes, they're in business to make a buck, but that's never in your face (Wellington Southern Cross, listen and learn). Staff are available, patient, and no matter how many times they've seen you or conditions like yours they're really engaged. They've not lost sight of the fact that the patient is first and foremost - human. Not an interesting collection of symptoms. I've seen my cat get better empathy at the vet than I got at a surgical procedure at Middlemore. (I excuse the A&E there who are marvellous) The facilities are quiet, clean, and you have a sense of privacy while experiencing what can be intimate or uncomfortable procedures. Aside from reception, and the recovery area, I never saw or heard another patient, or the consultation going on around them. No matter who came to see me - from specialists through to various nurses etc, everyone knocked before entering my space. It's a small thing, but it tells of respect. They were polite, but friendly - not that plastic airline/hotel politeness either. Everyone made strenuous efforts to ensure I knew what was going on, what the sequence of events would be and what to expect, and who to talk to if I wanted anything whatsoever. If you have any choice about where to go, I suggest Ormiston should be high on your list. If you or anyone is going there - as I said - nobody wants to go to hospital - but you might get comfort from knowing you're likely to be getting truly high standards of engagement and care.”

“I love getting a reminder via email and text that my fur baby is due for his yearly vaccines! Booking an appointment online is super easy, done in 1 minute tops. Once I got in the lovely ladies greeted me and I was seen very quickly. They listened to the concern I had with a bump on Alfies skin and took a look at it for me and gave me advice. Did the vaccine and I was good to go. My dog was very at ease in the patient room. Kumeu isn't local for us, but it is worth the drive for this kind of care.”
