I had some genuinely positive experiences with several oncologists at Canopy, and I appreciate the care I received during a very difficult time. That said, I did want to raise some concerns about my follow-up appointment with Dr. Simon Fu, which took place roughly a month after my chemotherapy. During that consultation, I felt that Dr. Fu was somewhat disengaged and dismissive of the symptoms I described. It came across as if the appointment was a procedural exercise rather than a genuine check-in with a patient still recovering from a major treatment. I left feeling more like a case number than a person who had just gone through a significant and traumatic experience. When I asked for an extension of my medical certificate, his response β βWhat do you want it to say?β β made me feel as though my request wasnβt valid, even though I was still experiencing ongoing symptoms. It was disheartening and left me feeling awkward for even asking. I understand that some clinicians may approach their work from a highly intellectual or analytical lens β and I also recognise that traits associated with being on the autism spectrum can influence communication style. However, in oncology, empathy and patient engagement are not optional. Itβs essential that patients feel heard, supported, and respected β especially during vulnerable periods like post-chemotherapy recovery. Ending a consultation without checking whether the patient has further questions or needs additional support can leave a lasting negative impression. Iβm confident that Canopy holds itself to a high standard of care, which is why I felt it was important to raise this. I know many people receive excellent service through your clinic, and I hope my feedback contributes to ensuring that standard is upheld for everyone

I feel compelled to write this. I saw Naera last week. Im not sure what more she could have done to make me feel heard, cared about and overall extremely well looked after. She took such care to answer all our questions (myself, partner and daughter), without us feeling rushed or that anything we asked was any trouble. Thank you Naera, you made, an inevitably scary time, feel a whole lot safer.

This is my second visit at Canopy Care (unfortunately!) and the staff are still fabulous. As always, my oncologist has a great mix of being kind and caring, without being patronising, and yet extremely professional - all at the same time. A small delay in getting results (through no fault of Canopy) was handled diligently by the team. The support staff are friendly and helpful, responding immediately to emails and calls. Very highly recommended.

Despite being very anxious at my first appointment we had a very warm welcome at reception and the appointment with my hematologist was very reassuring, he was very thorough with explaining my situation and the process of it all, I came away feeling I am in the best hands and have a great sense of hope and support.

The care, information and treatment I received was excellent. I would have no hesitation in recommending Canopy Cancer Care and my Oncologist Dr Naera Waters.

The team at Canopy Cancer Care have been absolutely marvellous. My wife and I cannot praise them enough. Having been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer - and with a prognosis of months at the outset - the team turned this grim prospect on its head. Two and a half years later, the cancer has been shrunk to about 10% of its original mass and I am symptom free ... and enjoying life! At the first appointment, Dr Richard Sullivan lifted our spirits and, more importantly, gave us hope. So what we needed then!! From this incredibly positive start, Dr Sullivan (βRichβ as he asks his patients to name him) developed a treatment programme that has been nothing short of miraculous ... and is delivered with such good humour, compassion, empathy and involvement. So much so, that we actually look forward to our 3-weekly appointments at the Clinic as they have evolved into being lively, humorous, family get togethers. Importantly, we are so impressed at how βRichβ keeps himself, and his team, so well versed in the latest developments in oncological care. The support staff at Canopy Cancer Care are a truly amazing team. Thank you one and all for all that you do and continue to do for us and for others.
