On November 27, 2025, my daughter underwent a surgical procedure, and I wish to express my profound appreciation for the exemplary service provided throughout her entire stay, from admission to discharge. Dr. Wolfgang and the surgical team, along with the ward nurses, healthcare assistants, kitchen staff, and cleaning personnel, consistently demonstrated outstanding professionalism. Their collaborative efforts significantly contributed to a highly comfortable environment. The teamwork, quality of the food, and the cleanliness of the facilities were truly exceptional. We commend Ormiston Hospital for its continued commitment to excellence. We extend our best wishes to all members of your dedicated team.

A heartfelt thank you to the amazing team at Ormiston Hospital. After my surgery, nurses Denise, Betsy, Claudia, and HCA Kamleshni were outstanding — so kind, patient, and supportive. They checked on me often and kept me comfortable during the day and overnight. A special thank you to Dr Amanda, my anaesthetist, for her calm, gentle approach and for explaining everything so clearly. She made me feel safe from the moment I entered the theatre. I’m also very grateful to Dr Perry Singh for his professionalism, skilled care, and clear communication. His confidence and reassurance made a huge difference. The hospital is spotless, modern, and well equipped — even the food was great. Most importantly, I felt genuinely cared for as a person, not just a number. Highly recommend Ormiston Hospital for their brilliant care and wonderful staff.

I visited Ormiston Hospital as I had a meeting with the CFO and got stung with a $65 parking fine for an hour's parking. I didn't realise it was paid parking and there were heaps of free parks. I feel sorry for the patients and their families who have no choice but to park there. Talk about being desperate for every cent. The parking enforcement company (Stellar Park Better) have no compassion and only allow 250 characters to plead your case then reject immediately with an automated response. Avoid if possible.

Nobody wants to go to a hospital at all, let alone for a surgical procedure, right? I've had to be panel-beaten from time to time and that's ranged across private and public care systems. Without any exception, the best care I ever got was at Ormiston. Why? Lots of reasons, but here's a few: Yes, they're in business to make a buck, but that's never in your face (Wellington Southern Cross, listen and learn). Staff are available, patient, and no matter how many times they've seen you or conditions like yours they're really engaged. They've not lost sight of the fact that the patient is first and foremost - human. Not an interesting collection of symptoms. I've seen my cat get better empathy at the vet than I got at a surgical procedure at Middlemore. (I excuse the A&E there who are marvellous) The facilities are quiet, clean, and you have a sense of privacy while experiencing what can be intimate or uncomfortable procedures. Aside from reception, and the recovery area, I never saw or heard another patient, or the consultation going on around them. No matter who came to see me - from specialists through to various nurses etc, everyone knocked before entering my space. It's a small thing, but it tells of respect. They were polite, but friendly - not that plastic airline/hotel politeness either. Everyone made strenuous efforts to ensure I knew what was going on, what the sequence of events would be and what to expect, and who to talk to if I wanted anything whatsoever. If you have any choice about where to go, I suggest Ormiston should be high on your list. If you or anyone is going there - as I said - nobody wants to go to hospital - but you might get comfort from knowing you're likely to be getting truly high standards of engagement and care.

I was so scared of having an endoscopy and the entire team was wonderful. Please note if you are having an endoscopy, it is level 3 of Building B (not A, as I discovered…). I dreaded the experience so much I joked when I was being called up that I wished the rapture would happen, to which I received chuckles. Reception area is calming and looks out over a big field. Every part of the hospital is modern, due to a recent upgrade. Nurses and doctors were absolutely wonderful, and made me feel comfortable. My pre op nurse took me through my whole form I’d filled out and explained the procedure and the medicines given. I was then given a covering gown and non slip socks, plus a keepsake bag to put my shoes in. I was then given an IV and taken to the procedure room. My mother was allowed with me to preadmit and then went back to the waiting room while my endoscopy was being done. As soon as I got to the room I was introduced to everyone who was a part of the team. We chatted, laughed and acted like it was a regular day. I swear, the whole experience is VIP level. When I gagged on the numbing spray, the nurse to my left very kindly wiped my chin for me and told me it was okay to swallow. The anaesthetic was administered through the IV and next thing I woke up in recovery feeling very calm and relaxed. My recovery nurse took my blood pressure again and helped me to stay upright when I stood. Once I was awake enough, I was offered tea or coffee and sat in a lovely recliner with a full tea service. The doctor came in with the report and personally delivered the results, and offered to answer any questions I had. A month later when I had an email query, it was handled efficiently and with grace. Please note, you will not end up in the wrong procedure room or with the wrong team as your identity and procedure are confirmed multiple times. Thank you Ormiston Hospital for your wonderful support. I would feel very safe returning.

Hands down the best hospital experience I've had in my life. The staff were amazing from reception to recovery. Everyone is so friendly and calming. The communication, from a few days prior to operation all the way through to post op, was also second to none in my opinion. Given the choice, I would come back to Ormiston without a doubt. Thank you so much to everyone involved in my procedure!

The staff are wonderful. From reception to nurses, doctors and surgeons. Far better than any other hospital in Auckland. The facilities, rooms and service is top notch. I felt taken care of from start to finish. The only issue people might find difficult is parking but people come and go so often you'll slip in somewhere like we did. Also parking is FREE. Thank you.

Such an awesome experience. Just had my ACL and meniscus surgery on the 7th from Dr Nick Gormack. Everyone was really professional and friendly. They really takecare of their patients.Even the nurse who provided food was really caring and kept checking on me if I wanted something to eat and drink. Julia who was there when I woke up from my surgery was really professional. Helped me heaps when I started hyperventilating. She cared for me alot and helped me regain my consciousness. Special thanks to Denise and Ian who looked after me soo well. The physio Wendy for helping me through walking exercises. It was a lovely experience staying there. It was clean and the cooked food was really good just like what you'd order from a nice restaurant/Cafe. Thank you so much Denise and Ian. You both have been really lovely and caring towards me. I would happily choose this hospital again if I had any surgery in future. Thank you Ormiston Hospital. All your staffs were professional and kind.

Reception is on level 3. Lovely team of people that i encountered right through my procedure from reception to dispatch. Def better than mainstream hospital for me. A lot more calming and personal rather than a rat race. Especially when you're nervous enough, from previous hospital experiences. Its almost like the older days where they care, listen and can advise. Im grateful for the team their, i thank you and those kind natured souls who take on those roles to look after us.
