“This was a lovely b&b experience. Karin, the host, is kind and such a joy to chat with. She will welcome you into her home and make you feel comfortable right away. Her garden is absolutely gorgeous, and a perfect place to take your morning coffee or tea, which is always available. I'd definitely recommend staying here!”

“Carolyn the host of Country Cottages was so accomodating of my parents. The location was perfect and so private. The cottage was roomy, perfectly clean and had everything you could need. The outlook was especially wonderful and there was an outdoor picnic table too. A fantastic retreat if your looking to get away from the business of everyday life. Perfect for a couple. “Excellent hike, bit of a drive to get there but the views are worth it! Some notes - Parking is limited and entrance is free. Toilets by the parking area, but water is untreated. BYO snacks and rehydration. Early mornings are great however, rain and wet grass and several muddy patches will require better hiking equipment, waterproof hiking boots and even hiking gear. Watch out for slippery slopes, muddy paths and cow pies. Livestock roaming between fences and gates, please respect property boundaries, keep gates and fences closed. Farm animals generally ignore you as you pass by, and a few disgruntled cows did reluctantly trod away. Weather permitting, rainy days offer no shelter out on this hike, hot sunny days would be perfect. Not all picnic tables are clean, the ducks do kinda get around... The views are absolutely worth it. Two thumbs up!!”

“By far one of the best places I have stayed in years. travelling for work a lot, I get to stay at a lot of places and never really feel the need to leave a review one way or the other, but this place is worth a mention. From the first encounter with staff to the last, the experience is friendly and efficient, the room I stayed in was very spacious, extremely well appointed and super clean. Stayed in the middle of winter so noticed the double glazing and individual heat pumps in each room immediately as the apartment was cosy and warm throughout. Vehicles are securely parked underground with easy access to elevators and ample parking. There is a high level of security with elevators requiring room tags to access the correct floor adding additional comfort to lone travellers or people leaving and returning at odd hours. Finally - as an added benefit - you open the doors to the balcony and realise that there is small stream right behind the apartments that you can hear all the time. (Bit too cold during my stay to leave the balcony doors open over night, but in summer this must be the most tranquil experience ever) - I have advised my company, our corporate travel agency and my co-workers that this is by far the most outstanding property I have stayed in for a while and when in the neighbourhood, staying here is an absolute must.”

“My son and I over the years have returned to Orewa Kiwi Cabins time and time again. The 2 bed cabin is clean and ideal for our stay. We walk or cycle around Orewa as so central, 5 mins to the beach and to the heart of restaurants and shops. The owners have always looked after us, so come and stay, as it’s a terrific break away.”

“Room was great, nice size, we weren't stepping on each other's toes. Cute little balcony/conservatory. Good walking distance to Go media stadium for concerts and events. We've booked again for another concert at eden park next year. Staff were super friendly and helpful with directions and recommendations for food nearby.”

“This place is so great it's hard to describe. Amazing location, with a fantastic view of Auckland in the distance. Very calm, very quiet, and to wake up with that view in the mornings is just amazing. I would recommend this to any couple wanting a romantic and relaxing getaway. Plus, Waikehe island is a fantastic place in general, a minor tropical paradise. Don't miss renting a car and driving around the island to visit the wineries.”

“If you want the comforts of home, don’t stay here. The place is magnificent. It allowed two days of beautiful respite after sightseeing. I loved the lounge and kitchen facilities that you could truly recuperate while on a busy and fun holiday. Thank you so much”

“Stayed here for 3 nights and absolutely loved every moment! I’d highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a quiet, beautiful home in the heart of nature. The wine tour with Nicky (the host) was equally amazing! A truly great way to see the island and spend a day getting to know about the delicious grape juice this island has to offer. I’ll be back again for sure!”

“Our wonderful experience at this lovely motel was just magnificent!!! Not only was it less than a 30 minutes drive from Manukau (where we reside) but it was so easy to find :-)). Our given room (no# 1) was clean, comfortable, quiet n worth the money we spent to stay here!!! Tony (the owner) helped us alot n was such an awesome host :-)) thank you!!! We'll definitely visit here again soon .... fyi, take your own alcohol as the nearest liquor store isn't near lol ..... tx”

“We had booked the beautiful Lavender Hill in October 2024 for our wedding accomodation. The first night I stayed with my bridal party, it was perfect as there was a room for everyone, we were able to relax and unwind, and had access to a kitchen and everything we needed, the detail that Trish thought of was perfect. We then were able to use it as a spot to get our bridal party photos taken on our wedding day, which was perfect, as it was only 5 minutes from our wedding venue. Cannot recommend Lavender Hill enough, it was great.”

“This place is so good. I stayed here while on a business trip and found the hotel perfect. Easy friendly check in, a lovely room with everything I needed. I ordered from the room service menu and was pleasantly surprised by the burger and chips, simple, cost effective, nourishing and just what I needed. The staff here are so genuinely accommodating and friendly. I will be back.”

“I highly recommend Roomie! We stayed in February 2025. We are from Ireland, and we used Roomie as a base when travelling around NZ . We had all the security of a hotel and all the freedom of an apartment. The beds were comfortable and the apartments were very comfortable and clean.The water pressure in the shower was great . We had lovely showers there. The staff were wonderful, every time you went to the desk you knew you would get help with a smile. I can't complement them enough. The communication via email before our stay was prompt and helpful. We had connections to Avondale so it was an ideal location for us but if you don't have any connections to Avondale, it is still a great location as the train is across the road from the apartment hotel. You can get the train to New Lynn and there is a mall there with a big supermarket or to Mt Albert to Pak N' Save a cheaper supermarket. It also goes to Britomart, where you can get to the viaduct in central Auckland. There is also a shop around the corner if you need some essentials. Try to book direct as you get some extra perks like free laundry and early check-in than if you use a 3rd party website.”

“We booked 3 studio rooms for Hot wheels monster trucks event. Rooms are lovely, warm, comfy and clean. All very well, we hope for this as standard. AEPM told standard to hold their beer and boot it. Courtesy call day before event re: early road closures as we were traveling up to AK. Checked us in and allowed us parking from 11am. Warm and informative welcome with the gate to Eden park laughably close. I haven't even left yet and I'm side eyeing the experience as narniac in its unassuming, hidden gem state. Will be back without doubt.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our stay at Quest Mt Eden was outstanding! The apartment was incredibly spacious, immaculately clean, and so well thought out—everything we needed was right at our fingertips. The layout was efficient and comfortable, making it easy to settle in and feel at home. The location is also ideal—close to Auckland City’s attractions, dining, and entertainment, yet peaceful and quiet at night. A special mention to the front office reception team who were genuinely friendly, welcoming, and super helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Auckland!”

“Remarkable! That’s the best way to describe The Hotel Britomart. We loved the art, the eco-conscious identity, and the overall atmosphere. We finally managed to visit the beautiful Library Lounge (it was booked for a private event the night before), and what a treat it was! “Wonderful hospitality property in convenient pacific location. Well appointed warm rooms and amazing amenities. Competent staff service with excellent support for old age customers. Pool, park, lobby, business room, entrance and restaurant area facilities are maintained to a Hyatt high standard. Delightful breakfast meals plan with fresh coffee. “I really enjoyed my one-night stay at this hotel excellent value for money. Upon arrival, the staff were friendly and even checked us in earlier than the usual 2pm time. The room was large, very clean, and the TV offered plenty of options. My only small feedback would be that the pillows were a bit firm for my liking. I slept well regardless, the shower was refreshing in the morning, and the breakfast was simple yet satisfying. Overall, a great stay I would definitely return next time I’m in Auckland. Thank you!”

“This was our second stay in the villas. We really like the somewhat remote location (but not too remote), the quiet and the beautiful view from the villas. On clear nights, the sky is incredibly as there are not many other locations around. There are lots of birds to watch, and some are not even very shy. The villas are well equipped, nicely decorated and we appreciated the complimentary bottle of sparkling wine in the fridge during our current stay. The beds are very comfortable and the bathroom is spacious and provides wonderful bathroom products. We would definitely choose this location again. There are two things that might be worth improving: 1. The pool is always covered to avoid having to deal with falling leaves in the water. You have to uncover it any time you want to use it and cover it again after use. As a guest, this does not come across as very welcoming and it would be more convenient if someone to opened it in the morning and covered it at night. 2. If you stay for more than one or two nights, it would be nice if someone would exchange towels or bring extra towels and take out the trash. We did not expect that there was no service at all during our stay and this should be communicated more clearly.”

“Amazing hostel! The staff were incredible especially Diego, he recommended us walks and was very helpful during our stay. The hostel is right next to the beach and a bus stop so it’s easy to get around the island. Just a really nice vibe place!”

“The Vineyard Cottages are stunning! I spent a few days here with my friends and family before my wedding at Kumeu Valley Estate. The staff at the Vineyard Cottages are like no other, they are incredible! Everything you could think of was considered and they make your stay extra special. You feel like part of the family when you stay there. The rooms are perfect for 2-3 people to stay in and getting ready for a wedding it’s lovely being able to dip in and out of each others cottages. The small extras are such a luxury - mini jams, lovely bread, milk and juice in classic bottles and if you book the bridal package the breakfast platter is incredible. I would highly recommend this venue to any brides and her friends looking for a lovely setting before the big day or for anyone looking for a lovely relaxing escape in the country. An added bonus is the beautiful backdrop for photos! Thank you again Rae, Ellie and co ❤️ we will be back!”

“The hosts, Bryan and Margaret were wonderful...! They would go the extra mile to accommodate their guests wants and needs. The facility and the rooms were very clean, and the beds were of good quality and very comfortable. Breakfast was always a pleasant experience with good food and conversations with the other guests that might last a couple hours. A very personable experience. The only down-side was the distance from the airport. Cab fee is spendy, but with a call, Miss Margaret may be able to make less expensive transportation arrangements.”

“Such a lovely stay. Rooms are comfortable and furnished well. So much more personality than a hotel or motel. Consider splurging for the room with the king bed and porch - it’s so nice to enjoy the city skyline at night. The manager was incredibly personable. A perfect option and so glad we found it.”
