Friendly staff, good location allows you to walk to restaurants, shopping places, ferry terminal. Early AM airport shuttle service (you have to book and pay in advance NZ $30 per person) was very convenient and reliable. Washer dryer in room, comfy bed.
Stayed her for a concert at western springs. One night only. Was a nice room, great facilities eg dishwasher and clothes washing and drying facilielties in room, friendly staff, the bed was comfy (extra large double = king fyi,) and it was all very clean. I would stay here again for sure.
Nice place to stay. Had everything I needed: kitchen, washing machine, dryer. Perfect for a few days stay in Auckland. New World is just around the corner to get food.
If there was minus stars then the reception deserve the lowest score. The front desk training seems to be seriously insufficient. On 9th May at 5:05 pm, when we arrived the hotel for check in, I was met with a disappointing situation. The front desk staff member flatly refused to honor our two - night reservation, even after I showed her the booking confirmation. She claimed that the name on my credit card and NZ driver's license didn't match the "guest name" I filled in during the reservation process. However, the "guest name" I provided was simply a prefer name. Despite presenting valid identification and the booking confirmation the hotel sent to my cellphone, she (the reception) rigidly adhered to the literal name match requirement, ignoring the obvious identity connection. When we asked for if there's any solutions, she simply just showed it was nothing she could help. This not only caused us a great inconvenience but also revealed her lack of professional training in handling such situations. What's more frustrating is that I later remembered I booked the hotel through Booking.com. I could simply changing the guest name to my ID name on the platform, I was finally able to complete the check in. It's truly disappointing that the staff member didn't know such a straight forward solution, which further highlights this front desk is unskilled.
Really nice spot, the rooms were lovely and quiet, Close to everything in town. The parking was a bit of a hike but allot cheaper than other CBD hotels. Why they wont get access to the pool/spa/sauna literally behind the Hotel and apart of the building complex is beyond me. Being able to use that pool and they would have got five stars for sure. Worth noting the people working at reception are very nice/professional and have great knowledge of the local area.
Excellent location. Have stayed here twice. They had mucked up the parking as I went to the gate and couldn't hear anyone talking and was hung up multiple times had to hoot the horn as the useless parking person eventually opened it after 10 minutes. The intercom for after-hours always cuts me off after 1 or 2 minutes and it's really frustrating as both times I have stayed this happened. Would prefer to stay in inner rooms not near the road as the acoustic insulation isn't great and I can hear traffic noise in road facing rooms. My first stay was in an inner room and was great hence I returned but the second was a road facing room. Due to some issues in the second stay I rated it lower than my experience during the first stay.
Very clean and tidy. Very friendly staff. Close to supermarket, cafes and bus stops. Walking distance to CBD.
Lovely room, very clean and well stocked kitchen and bathroom. Staff were helpful and welcoming. Location was ideal for Wynyard.
Stayed here with family (with a toddler) on 2 separate occasions when visiting New Zealand. The rooms are spacious and spotless. Was truly impressed with how clean it was. The rooms have everything you need if you want cook something up for the kids. There is a fridge, cooking utensils and seasoning. It also has a washer and drier.Even though our room faced the road we didn’t hear anything at night. The location is great too has a small cafe opposite incase you want breakfast or quick bites. Walking distance to supermarket,waterfront and city. Victoria park was just across which had a lovely playground for my toddler. For the cons, you can see the wear and tear in the rooms. The day curtains had BIG holes. Nails popped out of the carpet. I informed the front desk hope they fixed it,otherwise it will be a shame.
