I wish there were more rating stars. However suffice to say we were totally blown away with Vineyard Cottages during our stay. The cottages and the sylvan setting were superb in every way. Elle and staff went the extra mile to make our stay perfect . We thoroughly recommend Vineyard Cottages for your next visit to Auckland. Rosie and Sonny Gough
The pictures online do not do this place justice. It's story book gorgeous. Booked this on a whim when trying to find stand-alone building hotels and resorts as an immunocompromised person. It's not very far outside of Auckland, and I figured it would be a lovely place to rest up after some very long flights. I don't think I could have done better. Everything from the diversity of plants and birds on the property, the quiet picturesque cottage with thoughtful amenities, and the lovely breakfast (a mix of local farm items like honey and jam, and traditional NZ items I've wanted to try) was absolutely ideal. They even aired the cottage out for hours prior to my arrival, to ensure my stay was a safe one. Sometimes you find a place so perfectly matched to your sensibilities that it lives on as a setting in your mind after you've left, and that certainly is the case for Sauvignon and me. I relished my time here, and I look forward to visiting again when I next travel through the area.
A truly memorable stay — thanks to Elle’s warmth and generosity My husband Scott and I recently stayed at Vineyard Cottages and were greeted by Elle, the co-owner, whose warmth and friendliness made an immediate impression. Elle also runs The Big Foody Food Tours and brings over 20 years of experience in tourism and hospitality across the UK, Europe, and New Zealand — and it shows. From the moment we arrived, Elle made us feel genuinely welcome. We hit it off straight away, and it was such a joy to be greeted with such kindness. We had a wine tasting and dinner booked nearby, and Elle generously offered to drive us there, giving us her number so we could arrange a pick-up later. It was a beautiful gesture that really elevated our experience. The grounds at Vineyard Cottages are stunning — peaceful, relaxing, and surrounded by countryside. Our lodge was beautifully positioned, and the hot tub was a lovely, intimate space for us to unwind together. It’s a fantastic spot for couples looking to escape and reconnect. We’re thrilled to know Elle offers food tours too, and we’ll definitely be looking into meeting up again when the opportunity arises. A massive thank you to Elle for making our short stay so special — her generous spirit and friendly nature truly made it unforgettable.
My stay at Vineyard Cottages could not have been better - Elle and her family were amazing and hosted my entire family for our wedding weekend. The food was delicious and the care that goes into the cabins, the grounds and ensuring guests are comfortable is unmatched. The Vineyard Cottages are stunning! I spent a few days here with my friends and family before my wedding at Kumeu Valley Estate. The staff at the Vineyard Cottages are like no other, they are incredible! Everything you could think of was considered and they make your stay extra special. You feel like part of the family when you stay there. The rooms are perfect for 2-3 people to stay in and getting ready for a wedding it’s lovely being able to dip in and out of each others cottages. The small extras are such a luxury - mini jams, lovely bread, milk and juice in classic bottles and if you book the bridal package the breakfast platter is incredible. I would highly recommend this venue to any brides and her friends looking for a lovely setting before the big day or for anyone looking for a lovely relaxing escape in the country. An added bonus is the beautiful backdrop for photos! Thank you again Rae, Ellie and co ❤️ we will be back!
We had the most lovely stay at these very quaint cottages. We were booked somewhere else and they had to cancel last minute. We were made so welcome and really enjoyed the time we had there. Ellie and Barry were a lot of fun and we really enjoyed getting to know the team. Thank you. Will come back again
Firstly there was bad communication from the start. We used their website contact us and was left without any replies so had to phone to ask questions. When we got there, it was hard to find staff when we needed to. The outside looks nicely kept but inside was dark, very cold, damp and lots of bugs. It wasn't worth the money for us.
My family of 8 adults and two babies stayed at the vineyard cottages last weekend over two nights and everything was perfect. From the beautiful tranquil bush setting with bird life and rabbits, it was everything we needed getting ready for a busy wedding. The cottages themselves had everything required plus so many extra thoughtful touches like a beautiful breakfast all ready for us in the fridge, even eggs and a log fire. The bedrooms and bathrooms were so comfortable! And lounge area was perfect to come back to after a busy day. Elle and her team were so welcoming and friendly and nothing was a bother. Would definitely come back.
Staff were super friendly and quick to respond when messaged ahead of time with questions. Easy to find and easy to locate our own cabin. Firewood was delivered and breakfast in the fridge while we were at our event which was lovely to come back to. Bed was comfy and warm. Overall good night and place to stay
Sunday 27th March. A weekend we will never forget. The cottages are so rustic, yet modern. The setting olde world enchanting. The hosts amazing! We felt like we were being pampered all the way. They genuinely cared for how we felt and showed interest in all our chaotic organising for the wedding. Our family and friends would highly recommend their cottages for an escape weekend, or more. Five Star+
