   A well located, beautifully decked out hotel. Not right in the hustle and bustle but a short walk to the middle of things. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. The room was a great size. The bed was very comfortable. Excellent shower pressure. The only issues were that the hot water was scalding (the mixer taps don’t need to be any hotter than half way), and the air conditioning was cold (great temperature for sleeping but not for getting out of bed) and difficult to adjust.

The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed, with stunning views of the Viaduct or the city skyline. Every detail feels considered — plush bedding, deep bathtubs, and little touches like fresh flowers and Nespresso coffee that make the stay feel personal. The service is where Sofitel really shines. The staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, always one step ahead without being intrusive. Breakfast at La Marée is exceptional — fresh produce, barista coffee, and a view that’s hard to beat. The location couldn’t be better — right on the marina, a short stroll to the restaurants and bars of the Viaduct, yet quiet enough to feel like a retreat. The only downside is the parking — it’s limited and quite pricey, especially if you’re staying multiple nights. Valet service is available and efficient, but it adds to the overall cost. If you miss out on the parking availability, you would have to pay public parking prices for overnight stays. Still, the comfort, location, and attention to detail more than make up for it. Whether you’re visiting Auckland for business or a weekend escape, Sofitel remains one of the city’s most refined and relaxing places to stay.

   Staying at Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour was a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived the staff were warm and welcoming. The location is perfect with beautiful waterfront views and easy access to restaurants and the city. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff went out of their way to make us feel special. The housekeepers even gave my son a free KitKat which made him so happy. Small touches like this really made a difference.

Anja, the guest relations manager prepared an anniversary treat waiting in our room and my husband did liked it. Room is well kept and maintained, families were great and breakfast has a good selection. Well recommended!

   Great place for a spa day. The travellers massage was excellent. Ppool and hot tub good, sauna was down. Shower facilities good. Lockers functional but small. Valet parking service free with service - definitely recommend after a long flight.

   Stayed here a couple times on different occasions. Love the views from the suites here and how quiet it is when you close the doors. They’re equipped with small kitchens and great bathrooms and comfy beds. TVs have Netflix and there’s enough space to not feel cramped.

   Location, location, location. This hotel is well located, close to city center but not so close that we get the hustle and bustle of the city. Lovely stroll along the bay will take you right into the main part of the city. Though it was very displeasing to have the worker from Microsoft directly across from us, I am fairly certain he had a straight view into our room. We loved our breakfast at Sofitel. The turndown service and welcome drink were a lovely detail as well. Would stay again!
