“Just having a smorgesboard close to home is awesome. Their price range is good for the amount they give, their food is yum for sure! The service is great also!”
“Very good pizzas and very warm service.”
“Love this place :) Casual beachside setting with delicious coffee and food. They mainly serve scones, cakes, and sandwiches. Perfect for enjoying some sunshine, ocean breeze, and a laid-back vibe. Best on sunny days, though it can get chilly and there are no outdoor heaters so bring a layer. The cheese scones are pretty good too, with a nice crunch on the outside but the matcha latte is so good!”
“I had the best orange chicken of my life today — thank you to the amazing team at Joe’s Cook for the delicious food and exceptional service.”
“Been here many times. Excellent pizza, and their hot chocolates are a spiritual experience - best in Wellington. Absolute must for anyone whether you're a local or from elsewhere!”
“Mediterranean Foods Wellington has the best pizza in Wellington, hands down. The linguine is absolutely to die for, and every visit has been matched with genuinely friendly, welcoming staff. The place has such a good vibe — warm, lively, and the kind of spot you can proudly bring friends or family who are visiting from out of town. A definite favourite and an easy 5 stars. Highly recommend!”
“Love their food! Hidden gem in Linden.”
“Absolutely loved this restaurant! There was a 12$ special from 4 to 6PM the night we went. The service was exceptional and there was such a nice atmosphere. The pasta plate did not deceive and I would strongly recommend this restaurant.”
“We had an amazing time. The food tasted outstanding and came out very quick. We also appreciated that they had a fully vegan menu. The staff were also very knowledgeable and made the effort to explain the origins of the dishes we were eating and share how they were cooked. We also found the staff really professional in the face of some rude demanding customers, who were expecting long conversations after they had ordered when there were other guests who needed to be served. The customers were absolutely awful, but the staff handled everything politely and professionally while ensuring everyone was still served in good time. Would highly reccomend!”
“My partner and I usually go out once a month for dinner to restaurants around Wellington and we were delighted with this place! I have a gluten intolerance and the staff member that served us was super accommodating! I absolutely loved the cocktails, I had a tropical one with an ice block and a toasted marshmallow screwer. My partner had a yellow curry and I had the Bangkok Street Noodles and they even gave me some peanut sauce as I could have soy sauce and it went perfectly well with it! I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone and will be back! Thanks for a great night and experience!”
“OMG the "Pasion Ardiente (Burning Passion)" cocktail is the absolute BEST! Can ask for it to be less spicy if you want. Have never had such a delicious cocktail before, apart from my usual Pina Coladas. 1st time here, can't wait to come back. Great staff, atmosphere, and food looked amazing. We just came for drinks this time.”
“We hosted our book club in the upstairs room on a Monday night and Colin was super helpful, so accommodating and it was a good central spot for those working in town, while still feeling like we could escape for a couple of hours! We worked our way through a few of the non-alcoholic beer and gin offerings too; appreciated having options for those driving.”
“A great place to chill and enjoy the crowds (or army of suits). Very easy to get to, via bus or rail. Food was great beer was too only downside no Stella. Will come again soon :)”
“Absolutely amazing! The staff are lovely, kai was top quality, you will not regret eating here. As a Maori the environment and energy made me feel right home!. ✨❤️ Gorgeous ocean view whilst eating was just a bonus☀️ Ngā mihi nui ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
“The most beautiful kebab that I have in Wellington and Porirua area. They have choices of falafel, chicken, or lamb. You can also have it combine for extra dollar.”
“The atmosphere at this cafe was great for brunch and the food was delicious. The black pudding extremely delicious! The staff were externally friendly. I disagree with previous comments about small portion sizes, all the portions were generous Just a note that I think things are unsalted intentionally but this wasn't a big issue at all, plenty of salt on the table”
“Greeted by a lovely guy who was very friendly. Decided to sit outside despite the overcast weather instead of waiting for an inside table which turned out to be a good decision. The food & coffee was great. The staff were very helpful. Will definitely be back.”
“Every two weeks I'm at The Arborist for my BX Networking meeting and am about to have my son's 21st birthday celebration there. Everyone is lovely to deal with and the atmosphere is wonderful! The food and drinks are yummy. You can't go wrong at The Arborist!”
“A new find for us and we'll be back! Excellent coffee, friendly service, heaps of cabinet food options plus a small blackboard menu. And they now how to do proper crispy bacon :)”
“The food was AMAZING, although it was completely overshadowed by my amazing server, Austin Kendrick. Austin made me feel like a completely new person, completely reinvigorating my entire worldview. Handsome, attentive, kind - everything you want from a waiter. He truly embodies the keen spirit that is needed from our young folk. As a 67 year-old, I don't see many young people with the potential that I see here.”
“. (05/2018) This one is among top 3 in my list of Sushi restaurants in Wellington. Conveniently located over busy Lambton Quay and can be easily missed if not carefully looked out for. Easily accessible. Well managed, organised and nicely maintained. Sushi is on display for the customers to pick around from the standing area with detailed info provided for people with specific dietary requirements. Spacious but limited seating. Excellent ambiance and cosy atmosphere. Self-service. Helpful staff. Plentiful food options. Have not noticed these many delicious Sushi options to choose from for vegans and vegetarians at any other Sushi restaurant. Yum preparations. Good presentation. Offers takeaways. Good place for quick bite. Normally busy during peak hours. Reservation cannot be made in advance. PayWave facility is available at this location. Could not notice wheelchair accessible seating or high chair in plain view at this location. Outdoor seating is not available. There is no dedicated parking area available for this restaurant although street parking can be found around the entrance. Entrance is wheelchair accessible. Liked the experience.”
“Good selection, delicious sushi. Great for lunch takeaway so close to the Terrace.”
“The sushi was excellent! The salmon felt like it was melting in my mouth, it was so buttery and smooth. Also I definitely recommend trying the cream puffs, they are really light and it feels like they pop in your mouth. The staff are really friendly! The seating area is a bit tight tho.”
“I have travelled the world. I have been to Europe and I have tasted my uncles home cooked pizza. I have been to Milan and I have been to France. I will say only one thing. The creamy pineapple pizza stands undefeated and very much unchallenged. Who else could try? Miss u crème fraiche”
“As a former NYer, this place nails it. About as far as you can get from NYC and the flavor is spot on. They put the slices back in the oven so the crust is nice and crispy. I would pull 1/4 point if I could for not having shakers of garlic powder or Jamaican beef parties on the menu.”
“Got dinner here with my wife our first night in Wellington, mostly because it was near the craft market we visited first. Food was good and well-worth the price, even had enough leftovers for another meal the following day since we had a fridge in our hotel. Not where I would go if I was looking for high-end authentic Japanese food but would absolutely go again and recommend for a quick bite, my wife liked the katsu enough that we've worked to find places with good katsu at home in Chicago. Seating was inside but open to a busy street, it wasn't problematic but is worth knowing depending on your mood.”
“Great pizza right on the beach. Genuinely the best pizza I've had in Wellington, the ingredients are super high quality and the staff are very friendly. Great place to visit if you like supporting small family businesses.”
“I recently tried a prawn curry, and I have to say it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were so well-balanced, with a perfect blend of spices and creamy coconut milk. The prawns were cooked to perfection, tender and juicy in every bite. It's easily one of the best prawn curries I've ever had, and I highly recommend it!”
“Saffron Haveli serves some of the best Indian food in Wellington! The chicken biryani is packed with flavour, and the butter chicken is rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Pairing it with their garlic naan takes the experience to another level. The food is fresh, and the portions are generous. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine!”
“Delicious food! Highly recommended, I believe the chef (Umesh) is highly experienced and brings his expertise all the way from bangalore (southern india). I look forward to having a meal again shortly. Hospitality of nitin was amazing and we felt welcomed straight away.”
