   Our local host recommended this classic old pub near the Parliament building. Efficient friendly server, the prawns, burger, and "battered fish" came out quickly. All freshly prepared and tasty. Point off the food since 3 of the 4 "small bites" options were unavailable, of course the ones I had my eye on. The place is filled with memorabilia and photos highlighting events from the last 150+ years. A fun quick look at Wellington's history.

   The birthday party was a blast! The staffs were so nice and the quality of food is so good. They also adhered to our requests about the allergens and all dietary requirements and how they separated each and everything is the best! Jess was also amazing since the start of the planning. Bailey the bartender, Ally (or Ellie), Daniel and the rest of the team that served the food on the day of the party were all super amazing! I do appreciate you guys. All our guests were so happy and were talking about how good the food is. Definitely my go-to for events. Thank you, Thistle Inn!

   This place is everything you want in a classy pub. Great service from friendly, knowledge staff. Really great food and an awesome atmosphere. Fish and chips were among the best I've ever had and I'm a connessieur of fish and chips. Great cider on tap. Highly recommend.

   My first time here at this absolute gem of a place. It's warm and inviting, casual yet sophisticated. The service was attentive and friendly, and the food was excellent. Portion sizes are generous and everything we ate was cooked and presented perfectly. This is a truly special place, I highly recommend.

   Historical place, my elderly supervisor could recall memories from his young age! The walls and floors are full of antiques. It gives a nice feeling and adds to the atmosphere. Busy Inn during evening hours. Food was served on time. Presentation was great and food was excellent!

   We had booked a room for a private function - staff Christmas Dinner. The actual place is so big that there were a variety of rooms and lots of other groups using the facility. It’s so big that I didn’t even know other groups were there. So with that in mind and staffing issues they did extremely well in catering for our group. The room decorated beautifully, well ventilated and the food was delicious.
